Use pdanet. Works great. Go to Junefabrics.com.

Is there is a USB tether that works with the Evo 3D? I've been looking for one and really need one since only WiFi is working at my house and only one computer has a WiFi chip.
Thanks

Confused at your post.
So what exactly are you trying to do?
You have wifi at home and you wanna connect your EVO 3D through your pc to get Internet on your phone?
Or do you wanna share your phone's connection to your pc?

Have you tried any of the apps on the market?
Lmao, or the built in setting I always forget about. In settings/wireless & networks/USB.....

I tried 3 apps and none worked. If you are familiar with anything about sprint, it will give you an error when you try USB tethering unless you buy the $30 per month tethering.

I thought that was only for wireless tether, but I guess it makes sense they would lock both down. If you're rooted you could see if the ROMs which have unlocked WIFI tether/hotspot also have unlocked USB.
As for the apps, I know FOR A FACT that both "pdanet" and "easytether" work. IIRC both require a fee to get full access, so if it's a money issue you could ask about it in a ROM thread, maybe a dev could hack it for you.
I used pdanet app from the market on unrooted phone and it worked like a charm. Check it out.

I do know one ROM with it hacked. I asked the developer if I could get the USB/WiFi tether hacked as a flashable zip but I am awaiting a response.
thought easytether worked
Im running pdanet.
I am currently running Warm TwoPointThree (nightly unreleased) on my 3D. I can successfully Wifi tether while being on 4G but I was wondering if there is a method to USB tether while being on 4G as well? If I just USB tether it using the native sense app, it tells me I don't have that service with Sprint (which of course I don't) but it still tethers and works, but reverts to 3G only and 4G disconnects. I searched around some but most people Wifi tether and I use more USB tethering than I do Wifi (like hooking up my work desktop without a Wifi card in it etc.)
How are you getting Wimax wifi to work? I keep trying and keep failing on Deck's gbsense with freeza's update 2

I am using this in WEXT (ad-hoc) mode after selecting EVO 3D for the device profile. I am not running the same ROM as you though, or kernel.

Yeah I just hate having to load a client on each PC I want to be able to tether. Plus it ain't free.
i been trying to figure this out for the longest! i recently moved and cant afford another internet bill so i figured ill tether 4g to my pc since i have great connection here and then bridge to my xbox but no luck.... with pdanet i get low mtu and through regular i get strict NAT ugh so frustrating. i just got BF3 and havent played cuz ive spent my day trying to figure this **** out!
hey guys ive looked every where n tried every program/thing i could find with no luck. basically i moved into a new apt i have no internet and wont be able to have some for a while, so what im trying to do (because my pc doesnt have a wireless netcard) is tether my 4g connection to my pc and then bridge that to my xbox 360.... everything works fine with the built in usb tether but it disconnects 4g. i tried easy tether which works fine on 4g but it doesnt bridge, i get an error saying there was an unexpected error creating bridge. i also tried pdanet WHICH IS AWESOME FAST! but again it wont bridge properly. it connects it creates bridge then disconnects and asks me to install "LEGACY PDANET" with is like dial up and will not allow me to bridge. PLEASE im desprete! all i need is to tether my 4g connection to my pc then bridge the connection to my xbox 360.... THANKS IN ADVANCE to who ever can help. if there isnt a way please let me know also
Root + wifi tether?

Have you called 1-800-4MYXBOX?
If not, when i worked there they had a networking specialty team that could do a lot of things. Might be worth a shot.
So. Really the issue is that when it works 4G doesn't. And when using a different app. The 4G works but it doesn't create the bridge and causes an error?
What version of windows?
Its just easier to root and use wireless man. Ever since the first evo came out, ps3 and xbox pick up the wireless. Neither system could pick up tether for me on my older devices..

Exactly! I'm on windows 7 its weird because when I had my HTC mogul I used to tether and bridge just fine and I could play online. I remember playing gta 4 online and it ran fine, voice chat and all. Now when I tether in 3g its slow as all hell.... Main reason I want 4g working.

I am rooted and cannot use wireless because neither my Xbox or PC have wireless.... My PC's wireless card burnt out (long story) and I have an old Xbox 360 with out wireless.... I use wireless to tether my touchpad and on 4g is lighting fast! I want that speed on my Xbox :'(

I really need this since I just moved and have no internets. Stock tethering doesn't work and google wifi tether doesn't work. Am I missing something?
Are you rooted?

Of course.

Well stock tethering won't work without the tethering plan. For the wireless teether app in the market it won't work right out of the box, you gotta change some stuff in the settings.

Actually the one in the market won't work at all.
Goto the SOURCE and get the Beta (it's not in the Market)
http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/downloads/list
Set Generic ICS, Router Fix and MSS Clamping
This assumes your rooted.
FoxFi works on stock. Free in the Play Store.
The market wifi tether works just fine if you change your device profile to generic ics. That's the only change i made and I've used it with a kindle fire and a Dell vostro 1500.
Getting ready to try these tips. Thanks you guyz.
Thanks. The settings above worked!
I purchased my Evo 3D USED about a week ago, activated it, and everything BUT 4G works.
I have another 4G phone (Epic 4G) and it connects perfectly fine.
I called sprint twice, once one day after activation, and another a week after activation, both time they lead me through the same process, updating the profile info, resetting the msdn info, etc and on the second call they ruled it as a hardware issue.
Current state of my Evo 3D
S-OFF Revolutionary
1.4 hboot
Running MikVirgin.
Tried Stock Rom
Tried Mean Rom
I've tried going outside and going to other places with 4G, but to no avail 4G does not work.
I turn 4G on,
1. scan
2. connecting to sprint
3. authenticating with sprint
4. disconnected
I "upgraded" from a Samsung Replenish which waived the 10$ surcharge that is put on smartphones, could this be part of my problem?
I am able to return the phone but first want to be sure that the phone is indeed the problem.
Thanks for reading!
Try mwakious 3.0 ROM for HTC EVO 3D or try a RUU to bring you back to stock everything and it will work I hope.

It sounds like he is cdma so that rom won't work. I'm grasping at straws, but it sounds like his phone is not provisioned properly for 4G on the network. It seems like it tries to authenticate and is being denied.

I did call sprint, so wouldn't they have pointed out that maybe my plan, or my phone wasn't correctly configured to connect to 4G, and wouldn't updating the profile correct the problem?

One would hope they were competent. I was guessing based on it said authenticating then disconnect and that you are not paying the surcharge. You may need to take it to the Sprint store for repair.
