Can't restore backup since updated to 12220 - Nokia Lumia 800

Hi Guys!
Since I updated my Lumia 800's FW to 12220 using Cab Sender, I cannot restore my backup created by the cab sender neither that I created previously with Zune. Is this actually normal? What about those, who updated via Zune? I heard they has the some problem. Could anybody confirm it please?
By the way my battery drains 1% / hour in stand by (wifi and mobile data are turned off). It's worse than It was with 12070 (1% / 2.5 hour). Is there anybody who has the same problem?
Thanks

Hi bkotyik,
Got the same error here with lumia. Searched MSFT q&a-site for the error number and got: this is normal behavior, because the backup made by Zune before upgrade is only a restore point in case the update failed, not a full backup. There was a sentence "if your upgrade finished successful than your device works as expected and there's no need to rollback." Thanks MS, this is big fault

Did you do your update with zune, or via cab sender method? I also did a backup with WP7 Easy Backup tool and with Cab Sender. Neither of them can I restore. I know both of them uses Zune's assemblies, so It's possible the backup methods are the same, but in this case I don't know who One can do a full backup.
Can you confirm the battery issue as well?
I'm not sure If the cabs We injected via the cab sender, are in every case the same, we would get from Zune.
It would be nice, If We could find it out for sure.

I had the same problem after updating through cab sender. I couldn’t get the update through Zune so I flashed my Lumia 800 with the OS version 12220. Using WP7 Easy Backup Tool no problem backing up or restoring with new backup, but with previous backup (previous OS version) it’s impossible to restore. So I guess this is a bug.

Can someone upload a zune backup

I Need A ZUNE BACKUP of the 7.7004 WP7 OS I want to throw it into the file location (%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Phone Update) and see if Zune will let me downgrade my OS from the 7.7380 to the 7.7004) for some reason zune did not create a backup on my system in this folder when updating mine so if someone could upload a backup that would ROCK!!!!!!!!!!....
NEVERMIND Just Entered USB Bootloader Mode and Reinstalled Original ROM.
Can you do me a solid?
Do you have the original ROM 7.7004 ROM? If so is it ATT capable? I'm having the toughest time getting my phone back to original factory settings after attempting and failing miserably with a mango beta update. Thanks. [email protected]

[Q] Update radio firmware without reflashing a different ROM? - SOLVED

Hi,
I recently updated my Mozart to Mango via the beta invitation.
The reason being that I was unable to force the Mango update via Zune and was not included in the first update wave.
So I activated the beta invitation that I had received several months ago (I'm a registered developer) and set up a PC with the old beta versions to flash my Mozart.
After going through all the updates (I was on 7392) including ISV, I am now on 7720.
However, my phone did NOT update the firmware.
I am therefore currently stuck with:
Firmware revision number: 2250.09.12803.111
Radio software version: 5.52.09.16_22.33a.50.10U
Bootloader version: 1.28.2250.3(113810)
But my OS version is: 7.10.7720.68
Do you know of any way to get the new firmware revision and the new radio software? (I would like to keep my data on the phone and would therefore be happy, if I don't have to reflash a Mango-rom that has these updates included)
Thank you very much in advance
Best regards,
FrozenLord
little info
The only words I can say is that after offical update (free phone in france,)
figures are:
Firmware : 22.50.21.40.600.401
Radio: 5.69.09.05a_2250_50_50_21U
spl; 4.6.2250.0 129193
i have the same later radio and firmware version numbers as well, after tricking the update with the Zune and Local Area Connection disable method.
Hi,
I do know that you receive these updates when updating via the regular way (even if it's tricked).
Unfortunately, this way was not possible for me - for a reason I don't know.
So I used the approach I explained above and am NOT able to do the regular update.
Does anybody know of any way to update these components separately?
Best regards,
FrozenLord
I updated my wife's Mozart to Mango 7720 via the 'leaked' MS employee release. Her phone still had the original firmware after the Mango update like yours. I was beginning to anticipate having to reflash her phone with the Stock ROM when two days ago she got a message of an update in Zune. Sure enough it was an HTC update that brought the firmware up-to-date, the same as mine updated via the public release. You just may need to wait a bit longer.

Hi,
I have the same problem. My carrier is also t-mobile germany. Maybe it is a problem from them??? If you find a way to tricker the firmware update. please let me know.
I finally found a way
Hi there
After a lot of fiddling around, I have finally found a way to upgrade the radio rom without losing the private data.
You will need at least the following applications:
- A modified RUU so the flash is not erased after the update (which is a standard procedure in the standard RUU, so use the modified one and ignore the HD7-part - it works!) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1204733
- The actual radio update (5.71.09.02a from the HTC Mozart Europe ROM) https://rapidshare.com/files/1216711649/RUU_unsigned.nbh
Now, before you start doing anything that you might regret or wonder about later, I suggest that you read the complete post
I've tried to explain all the pieces and posted my experience too.
Just for security (better safe than sorry!), you should create a complete backup of your phone to fall back to if anything goes wrong.
A great tool is provided here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14258464#post14258464
Now for the instructions
I am not responsible for your actions or any consequences that are caused by this mod! You do all this on your own and can hold no one responsible but yourself!
Download both files and extract them into the same folder.
Reboot your phone and keep the VOLUME DOWN button pressed, while turning it on
You should see the SPL-screen (a strangely colored screen like this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16189686&postcount=3)
Connect the phone via USB to your PC
(Windows should install a driver - if not, install Windows Mobile Device Center if you're on Windows Vista/7)
Fire up the modified RUU and click through
You should be ready to go
By the way:
I almost killed my phone in the testing procedure because I created an invalid nbh (had no idea what I did and started fiddling without tutorials ), which seemed to have killed parts of my SPL...
The process was easily fixed (fortunately) by applying the HSPL by DFT, which fixed the problem (which was that my phone always booted back into the SPL-screen, unable to boot into WP7).
But since that moment, I've got HSPL installed.
So if the above procedure does not work for any reason, install HSPL and try again
HSPL can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195647
Also, I updated the ROM using a standard RUU and found out about the FLASH-format after applying the update the hard way (resulting in a totally clean mobile...).
Fortunately, I had created a complete backup before and was easily able to restore it via the same application.
Should you happen to run a normal RUU for who-knows-what-reason, just restore the update. (the radio rom is NOT downgraded in the restoring process, so you're good to go, even if you chose the wrong RUU)
Just out of curiosity (and knowing that I had a backup to fall back to) I reran the update process using the modified RUU (see link above) and the flashing went fine - and the phone did not format itself afterwards
Therefore: Ignore the HD7 in the name, it works for the HTC 7 Mozart too.
I used this tool to extract the Radio-rom (and the including customisation) and repacked it using the same tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1260757
Thanks a lot, ted973 for providing it
Additionally, I am glad that DFT had released the HSPL for my phone, else I would have had a problem
Thanks a lot guys!
Now have fun with the updated radio and feel free to comment
My versions are now:
OS version: 7.10.7720.68
Firmware revision number: 2250.09.12803.111 (unchanged to before)
Radio software version: 5.71.09.02a_22.51.50.21U
Bootloader version: 1.32.2250.1(119496) which is because of the DFT HSPL
Best regards,
FrozenLord
@ FrozenLord
did you debranded your mozart or did you have an unbranded device in the first place ?
i'd like to figure out a way to get the latest radio on a debranded mozart. seems like zune doesn't update the bootloader and radio on a debranded device.
I've got a T-Mobile branding.
But the procedure should work for an unbranded mobile as well
thanks a lot. will try to get my debranded phone to the normal update route with your tip.

Error 801812E0 when restoring from backup

I know this is a fairly common error, and in fact I've posted a thread on it in the past, but everywhere I've looked I've found zero helpful things. I used Nokia Care Suite to upgrade my Lumia to 12070, making a full Zune backup with Wp7EasyBackup first. Upon restoring, I encounter the 801812E0 error every single time. I've tried using Wp7EasyBackup and Zune software to restore, I've tried restoring the backup to: the new firmware, the 11501 firmware, and the exact firmware I was on when the backup was made. Nothing will work, and I need this backup! Help!
Pretty sure if you used Nokia Care Suite to flash a ROM your existing backups become useless.
If you would like to downgrade, just find a 11451 or 11501 rom and reflash it.

As far as I know, no
I'd the same issue as well, even downgrade back to 15000 or 15001, which my backup was made, still no luck to restore via Zune or W7EasyBackup.

Echo on call - since 12070 fw update

Since updating my Lumia to the latest firmware, I get complains that other side can hear itself, anyone experiencing this? How to resolve it? Is there a way to downgrade firmware?
The update was forced using the updatewp utility

If you have done a backup you can restore via Zune. If you have not done a backup (and you should always do backups when doing unofficial stuff) you have three options:
a) reflash the Firmware manually and risk losing your warranty
b) visit a local Nokia Care Point and ask to reflash the firmare/send it in for repair
c) live with it. Echos can also result because of bad Connection or the other Party using VoIP (at least I heard that at the german Support board).
Have you tried to hard reset the phone?

WP7EasyBackup not able to recover error code 801812E0

Hello,
I hope someone still using this old mobile phones and can help me with my problem.
I have a lumia 800 and going crazy because i´m not able to restore a backup with WP7EasyBackup.
The backup was created also with WP7EasyBackup 3 days ago, then I have installed a custom rom and want to recover my old data but only got the error code 801812E0 in the WP7EasyBackup log.
I thought my Backup was not compatible to the backup version, so I flashed the stock rom orignal firmware to my Lumia 800. Unfortunately I still got the same error code 801812E0 if I try to recover my device.
Could anyone help me with this problem?
Update 30.03.2018
After flashing several firmwares from lumiafirmware.com to my device and trying to restore my backup I still get the same error code with 801812E0.
I know my device is very old but I hope here are still some experts who can help me with this problem.
I also spent some hours by searching for some solutions for the error code 801812E0 in WP7EasyBackup but I just found some answers where they used different firmware versions for backup and restore (e.g. backup from firmware 1600.2479.7740.11451 trying to restore to 1750.0805.8773.12220). In my WP7EasyBackup log file I can see that the backup was made from the firmware 1600.2479.7740.11451, so I flashed this firmware to my device but the restore from my backup is still not working. I used a different product code for the firmware because the firmware 1600.2479.7740.11451 is not available for my product code "059M0C7". If there is anyone who has the firmware 1600.2479.7740.11451 for the product code 059M0C7 (T-mobile brand) available it would be very nice to share this with me. But I think this not my problem and I´m really going crazy on that
So if someone has a hint for me to solve this problem please let me know.
Many many thanks in advance.
