2 Questions for the Player/WiFi 3.6 - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

Hi guys,
My 1.st question: Is anyone about to make Custom ROMs for the Galaxy Player 3.6 OR are there ROMs from the bigger models which (could) work on the 3.6 ?
My 2.nd question: I managed to root my device on the original (out of the box) firmware via ZergRush (Easy root/the commandline method).
Now I updated the Firmware via Samsung Kies and the method doesnt work anymore (after the 3rd Rush it thinks it is rooted but it fails when he wants to access the fs and copy the Superuser.apk and so on (so no root at all). There are no methods to root the newest firmware (please correct me if I'm wrong), so i would like to flash back the old one.Does anyone know where I can get the old firmwares (like an firmware-archive), because I didn't find anything on the official Samsung page.
Hope you can help me!

[Q] Polaris Office Install Help

I have been looking for answer for this for too long... so here's my story:
I got my Gt P7510 for christmas.
Background:
I rooted it with the galaxy tab hacks root(not easy way), then I messed it up and unrooted it, then I rooted it again with the easy way, then I unrooted it because I had firmware for a different region, so then I tried to update to 3.2 but I still had the wrong region so I used the 3.1 ROM from the "Messed up by 3.2? Here's a way back." post on XDA. Then I updated it to 3.2 via Kies.
Problem:
Somewhere I lost Polaris Office, and I am looking for one that was exactly like the default (had a UI with docs spinning in the middle, with new file etc. buttons on the bottom) but I don't know the build.
The ones I have found on the forums have all been for rooted and not had the UI I was looking for... So I have two questions:
Do I need to root it again to install it properly?
Can you give me a working link for the apk/necessary files and recommend a Canadian build for my GTAB(If i have to root)?
Sorry for Bugging you guys, thanks.
You have to be rooted to install this one:
http://dev-host.org/22nzqkzdaw9z/Add_Polaris_Office.zip
Just put this zip file in the "sdcard" root and install via recovery mode (CWM).
I hope it is the version you are looking for. It shows up as Polaris Office 3.0 build 5r8323-FV03
BTW, I am using Task 10 ROM and highly recommend it - in my opinion it is by far the best ROM available for the GT10.1

[Q] gtalk 4.0.4 apk for GB (root)

Hi all,
This is my first post here so hopefully i'm not breaking any major rule.
I'm looking for a way to install the new gtalk on a stock rooted 2.3.5 i9100.
The latest version 4.0.4 has multiple account support which i've been waiting for ages !
I found britoso's and theos0o's threads for older versions and I2asta method of installing it with root explorer but couldn't find the new one anywhere...
PS
I got my gt-i9100 gb 2.3.5 phone from my work, so I'm not allowed to flash custom firmwares (no chance for CWM and insecure kernels).
Best (and most importantly) I can root & unroot it back with unlockRoot.

SGS2 - Root / Kernel / ROM?

Hi All.
I last rooted a HTC Desire well over a year (or 2) ago and I am now looking into rooting my Samsung Galaxy S2 - I9100, from Optus in Australia.
Although well versed, I am finding myself in noob land trying to read and firgure out what is the correct way to alter my phone.
Firstly I apologise for posting something that I am sure is answered out here. So please just point me to the right place and close this thread if so.
I can see that the standard boot loader (hope I refer to that correctly) appears to allow you to install another OS (ROM).
This appears to be called ODIN.
Am I able to load new ROMs by using the default ODIN on the phone, or do I need to load something like ClockworkMod?
I am intending to download and install the generic stock ROM (non-carrier) version before looking into other variants.
I am assuming to load other ROMs, like say Cyanogen 9, I would have to go through the root process.
Aside from rooting, I am reading posts that refer to updating the kernel. What is the kernel and why do I need to change it?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Easy root method - upgrade or not

Hi,
I have a fresh , not upgraded Galaxy S6 Edge in its box.
Currently I use my S5 rooted without any issues. As I like to use my phones rooted, I'd like to root this one as well.
But I am not sure which root method is easily applicable with minimum limitations.
For example, I need to use Samsung Allshare cast dongle and it needs original recovery image.
So I prefer to root without recovery change , or if I have to change recovery, I'd like to revert it back to original.
So, how should I root my S6 Edge ?
And, as it is not upgraded yet, should I root then upgrade or upgrade then root ? Which one first ?
Thanks.
Btw, my device is G925FQ , sold in Turkey specificly.
Hi,
I'd appreciate any ideas.
Thanks.

Which root method works for SGP 4.0 YP-G1 with 2.3.6???

Guys, I've been reading and reading through thread after thread and can't seem to find a definite and safe method for rooting my Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0 (U.S.) with 2.3.6. -I read about superoneclick and framaroot and it sounds like these methods work on devices running 2.3.5 but not the one I have. I want to use voodoo sound - that is really the primary and only reason I am trying to go through the trouble of rooting. I'm just tired of reading and searching now - could someone tell me what method works to root my device described above? thanks.
I used iroot worked first time out of the box

I just used Kingo Root - worked fine on 2.3.6. Now I am trying to figure out the next step - creating a nandroid before I go any further. It's proving to be a bit confusing. CWM seems popular but the app page for ROM Manager (I assume I need this to use it?) says I need a kernel that is compatible - where do I get that? I don't want to install a special kernel yet because I want to back up my current system which is working fine right now so I can go back to it. Does the kernel even matter in the back up process? I just don't understand it all quite yet. Should I use TWRP instead? Maybe with that one I don't need a compatible kernel? Help....
