Searched forum but didn't find anything. I'm rooted with cwm touch and I've noticed that I'm getting random Hot Boots. Anyone else having this problem? I am stock, rooted. I was rooted for about 1 week before I flashed CWM touch with mobile Odin and didn't notice the problem until the CWM flash. Any suggestions?

In the last ~3 weeks, I've noticed one hotboot before I rooted, and two after. For every one you notice there's probably two more that you don't.
Can't do anything about it on TouchWiz (UCALEM), but AOSP ROMs can make it better (or worse).
It's not that bad, anyway. You just have to 20 seconds or so for the phone to hotboot.

This only happens to me when I'm trying to use my phone while it is plugged in and charging. It acts all crazy, but once I unplug it the thing works fine. I pretty much keep my phone in ECO mode and haven't switched that off to see if it makes a difference.
Same here. I keep my phone on ECO mode and have no issues with responsiveness, except for once in a while when it's plugged in and charging.

That's horse ****! Someone has to come up with a fix for this! Doesn't eco mode cap the processors at 1.1 or something?

Seems cycling the screen off and back on will get rid of the lag....until it happens again....lol

I don't have that problem at all with mine. I am unlocked, rooted and running Notach's Base ROM.

I DO have that problem with mine. I am unlocked, rooted and running nottach's Base ROM the problem has reoccurred with the stock ROM and versions 0.5, 0.6.5 and 0.7.3 .
It's probably a kernel-level memory or CPU issue because for most people it appears to be a specifically time-based problem. The longer your uptime is, the worse the problem gets. Reboot your phone and the problem goes away for awhile.

Amrando, inflammatory and unhelpful statements aren't going to win you any help with your problems. It's just alienating those that would otherwise help you out and gets you reported to the mods.

I've edited your post. This is a great example of the same phone, running a similar set up behaving completely different. The user you quoted wasn't doing anything other than stating that they don't have this problem so chill out a little and accept that each person can have a different experience and opinion. If you've got nothing useful to say, say nothing.
Thanks

Hello everyone,
I'm having a little issue lately. I have flashed the rooted stock rom some times ago and there's something that happen at a random time. The phone simply shutdown. I know it's not a gracefull shutdown since there's no shutdown sound when it close, but much like if the battery was removed.
Does anybody else experience this?
Also, when this happen, I must press and hold the power button until the soft button flashes, then wait for the flashing to stop, release and press again to boot.
I'm also on CWM.
Thanks
Yeah, this has also happened to me at least twice already. I'm running Rooted stock HTC Rom. I have the TWRP recovery though...

Maybe not rooted long enough. also, rooted on stock rom, not a custom one. I had this problem about 3-5 times yet, in about 2 months.
Happens to me once a day..........S3 phone isn't a week old.
Running rooted telus stock rom
S3? You do know it's a HTC One X+ thread?
1 month ago it begins...
im in using an app and ramdomly the screen start to flicker
as someone was pressing as a crazy the menu and back softkeys
sometimes a reboot fix it...sometimes doesn't...
it drives me crazy!!, dunno how to start to fix this
please, any idea will be appreciated!!
thanks
since yesterday, flashed the stock rom with LGNPST...not the stock that i've flashed with CWM...
at this moment, didn't installed nothing, didn't rooted, and phone is nice and stable...
maybe an app is causing it?
maybe root?
so...let's try it a little more and see what happens
Might be a hardware issue. I broke my capacitive keys once and they kept pressing automatically like you described

right now im on ATT TOT stock file...and it's amazing!!
nicely and flawesly!!
no issues so far!!
by the way, how u solved ur problem??
Agreed. I was forced to use the stock tot for a few days because I couldn't unlock. The stock ROM is actually the smoothest ROM I've used. The boot time is only a few seconds. I'm on Nocturnal now, because I have to have Google Now and the jellybean ROM had BSOD issues.

first 24 hrs totally stock, and no issues so far!!
seems that the rom or some software was causing this ****!!
Since yesterday I am facing this problem.
Last evening the touchscreen of my phone just stopped responding. It happened so: all of the sudden the touch wouldn't respond. Pressing the power button to switch of the screen for sleep mode was not happening. The last thing I had done was pull down the notification bar so that so it was stuck there. I pressed and held the power button to restart and it worked fine. After a few hours again it happened. Restarted again. Worked. But now everytime its happening. It stops responding. I restart then it works for 2-3 minutes and stops responding and again Ihave to restart and again it stops after a couple of minutes.
I tried going into recovery mode and download mode and it enter and it charges properly also.
Also, last night I switched the phone off and I left it on charge annotd today morning when I switched it on the problem is still there.
please help me out
My galaxy s3 is rooted and its running on stock rom 4.1.2 and siryah kernel.
Is it a hardware problem or software? What can be done?
Another thing just happened now. It stopped responding while I was watching a video on youtube. The screen didnt respond but the video was working and after a while the video stopped but the audio was still playing!

I heard somewhere syiah doesnt support 4.2 try another kernel. Did u update kernel/rom recently?
Have you tried removing the phone's battery and waiting for a half hour or so?

Its not 4.2 It's 4.1.2 Using the official one. And I have been using the siyah kernel for over a month now. Never seemed to cause a problem and never updated anything.
And no I didnt take out the battery. I just kept it switched off. Anyway I will do that too now.
R: HELP! S3 touchscreen not responding.
Okay....so you did nothing? Perhaps you're stressing the cpu/gpu too much and kernel does not totally support 4.2.x yet....try flashing perseus kernel also, it cant hurt...

Should I flash stock firmwire then try rooting it again and then flash the kernel?
The thing is I used to use my phone while on charge. A friend says the circuits must have gone haywire but this doesn't seems like a hardware problem.

If u use your phone while on charge that only harms the battery (it will make it last less...but it is inevitable anyways who dooesnt use phone whike on charge)...
What would be the very best option would be to factory reset through recovery (u have clockworkmod right?) (U can save apps with titanium backup) and flash a new rom and THEN a new kernel.
If you flash foxhound it comes with kernel already backed.
BUT before doing this (nobody likes to start off fresh) just try flashing another kernel first(or try and get an updated version of siyah kernel, maybe you got the s2 variant, which has a higher build version than the s3, making it look obsolete).

Hi all. I was running Slimbean ROMs on my S3 for ages without issue, when out of the blue the phone began to lock up, freeze or randomly reboot. I tried a different radio to no avail.
Thinking it was the flash memory starting to fail, I restored it to factory/unrooted ready for warranty.
Now the phone is working fine. No crashes. Just terrible Touchwiz.
Anyone have any idea what this could be?

I considered that. But 2 in a row? And why would my ROMs have been stable for weeks, then suddenly go bad?

Well... things happen. There are a thousand of reasons why that happens and why it becomes unstable suddenly. Ask yourself then do some research.
Hi
I had the same issue.. Running liquid smooth for the last 6 months then random reboots, hanging and crashing.
Restored known working nandroid and still had same issue.
Since going back to stock its working great. Very strange..
