um try app brain market
orrrr there's a way change your phones id so that the market thinks its a different model
iv seen a vid on youtube about it but i cant find it now

Hi, i'm on cyanogenmod 7.2 for p500 and i'm not able to install whatsapp messenger. It is not available on market and when i try to install through apk it returns "application not installed". On stock rom all works fine, app in market and apk installs. Any idea?

When i try to open that link it says that its not compatible... dunno why
On "adb install " i get INSTALL_FAILED_MISSING_SHARED_LIBRARY
I tried to reflash cm7.2 (last nightly)... there's a way to discover the library I am missing? please help me...
SOLVED!!! I flashed Google Apps again and I could install Whatsapp through apk Via market is still not available but... it doesn't matter

Have you got it? I found the beta version, but don't like it because you can't select external SD as cache location...
The other one I found was "Spotify 0.4.12.180" but it seems to make my phone crash! maybe malware. Do you have a version of it?

As a matter of fact I have found an official repository!
Go to m.spotify.com on your phone and select "manually download the application"

I am trying to download the apk file for bamboo paper fro google play
I have tried the apk downloader extension in chrome and it appears to be installed correctly including the modification to the shortcut but when I click on download I receive an error that the file can't be downloaded. Would it be possible for someone to download the file or point me in the right direction...it's becoming VERY frustrating. It isn't compatible with my galaxy tab 2 so I just want to download the apk and sideload it.

I've done that, none of the links contain the file. Wacom posted it to play two days ago....most of the "results" have been around for months and none actual contain the correct apk

Ah, ok. How about editing your build.prop to trick the Play store?
Did that too without success although it could be that i didnt get the device id right. They only made the app "compatible" with a handful of devices so I was really hoping to reach out to someone who might be able to d/l it without restriction.

I'm trying to get my hands on the app to do a post for Android Headlines, which I'm the assistant ed for, I can't download on my One X even if I trick it to be a Galaxy Nexus. I've e-mailed them about that crap.
Could someone help me with an apk, it is still free on the store and I can't find it anywhere on the Googles.

Hi, I have struggled for several hours now and really could use some help please.
I have a Viewpad 10e which is not an officially supported device with Google. I have installed the only custom rom out there from Sidenk - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1320592&page=41
There is no contact/people icon on there. I used to have this working with the market apk on the stock ICS rom last year but due to a recent upgrade from Viewsonic that stuffed my system so I had to reinstall. I cannot for the life of me think how I did it but I've downloaded loads of different packages relating to googlecontactssyncadapter.apk, contacts.apk and contactsprovider.apk. Some of them install but do nothing, some of them say the package cannot be parsed, some say there's a conflicting signature.
At this stage I have no idea what to do, I've downloaded loads of files, spent hours searching on google, read lots of different forums too. This device is not well supported and I have no idea where I'm going wrong so any help is very much appreciated.
I take it by no replies I've asked an awkward question
Can anyone point me in the right direction of where I should be looking if people cannot help here please?

Thanks but that's not the issue I'm having. The stock rom doesn't have Google contacts/people on it and never has. The custom rom never has. When I had the original gingerbread rom I managed to put on Google marketplace and contacts app on it. Later when ICS came out I managed to do it again.
Viewpad then released an auto update that kept nagging until I hit install. Then that wouldn't let me root so I went back to the custom rom Sidenk developed (he states set device as Asus Eeepad in his post to get more compatible apps on play). I thought all I had to do was update this with contacts.apk and googlecontactssyncadapter.apk but every version I have tried to install has come up 'application not installed' or unable to parse.
I know this device is capable of having contacts as I've done it before but I'm blown if I know how to now?
This has been driving my noodle potty for days now and I'd love some advice on what's likely to be going wrong :laugh:

I'm totally new to rooting but I have some development experience so if anyone's looking for help, resources etc. I'll do my best to provide what I can.
For reference I've already tried just installing the Play Store and services framework from APK mirror, no dice. Tried running KingRoot as well but as expected, no luck.
Any advice/direction/help is much appreciated!

Start by installing twrp recovery using fastboot method, visit 4pda site for nubia n1 you'll get the method, then flash a custom rom(download it from needrom site) setup your phone and then reboot again and flash supersu and reboot you'll be seeing supersu icon in your homescreen that's it[NOTE: every time you flash file in twrp reboot to recovery once flashing is done and perform quick not advanced wipe after rebooting to recovery, this is required only while installing custom rom not for supersu]
