While we wait for the ICS version for Xperia P from Sony, i wonder if someone starts to develop CyanogenMOD 7 for Xperia P? If it's possible ?
I wonder if there is other than me out there who is tired of Sony's stock rom and interface
Why CM7 if we can go straight to CM9 or CM10?

There is only one custom rom for Xperia P in the moment. You can find it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1683997
It requires unlocked bootloader wich you can unlock on http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/ Just follow the guide

I just read on Xperiablog that there is a stable CM9 coming to our Xperia handset tonight.
Anybody confirm?
http://www.xperiablog.net/2012/08/09/stable-cyanogenmod-9-being-released-tonight
I hope so
Well, the changelog isn't updated
http://code.google.com/p/freexperia/
It's for the xperia device's build in cyanogenmod like xperia arc etc....
for the 2012 device's it's FXP and it's unofficial cyanogenmod
In cyanogenmod website the update is avaible for the "official cyanogen" device's

I tried the usual way with wipes and formatting /system but it hung at the boot logo. Didn't have time to play around as I had to leave for work. Try some of the methods listed in the FXP CM9 thread in the Development section. Seems Bin4ry's kernel helps for the initial wipes/flashing.
I might give it another try when I get home or hold out for the next CM10 release...

Touchscreen software (xperia p is qhd)
Dun knw abt porting bt faulty port may permanently damage touchscreen

Then you should've waited for a dev create a thread when they were ready.
The only difference beetween xgo and xu are touch drivers!
I think that, maybe, we just need to repack xgo ramdisk with xu zimage in order to get it almost booting. Isn't it true?

It´s not the same kernel per se, just Sony used the same version of linux kernel 3.08.
The date that the kernel was compiled is at March which means a new kernel!

Maybe, your build.prop is containing any such line which makes it recognise as Xperia U.
plz check your build.prop's device related values.

see the sceenshot, it says Xperia Sola in model no.
but in other phones it says the model no like st25i and not Xperia U! Hence proved!
also check etc folder, these things are related there

if you wanted a bodged fix you could go in to device manager on your computer and uninstall it as a xperia u (and delete driver when it pops up or it will just keep reinstalling as xperia u) and download sola drivers and point it towards that folder and it will install it as a sola.
FXP sad that
CM9 229
- latest cm 9
- security fix (All)
for all mean for all devices
but when i look for lotus (xperia go ) i cant find it
For sola and U it's also not available The just released CM9 FXP 229 only for 2011 devices, thought. But I'm not sure
