or ignore it?
if it's bloat. why not freeze it? or outright remove it?
What "bloat" are you talking about specifically?
The junk Verizon put on my phone...navigator, books, movies, etc. If I freeze them, will it effect some other application or function of the phone...sort of like the pop up warns when I tried to disable Navigator?
Also, I have 2 Backup Assistant Plus applications and 2 S Memos.
Freeze all of it....

I read that DRM related services suck up a lot of juice.
If you don't use these, freeze two(2) start with DRM* and the MediaHub app.
Or give Axura 2.2 (Search for it) a try, it gives me the best battery life.
Wifi calling if you have it, usually uninstalling wifi calling screws with things so just freeze that if you have it. And usually any other bloatware such as default samsung apps like the Email and Allshare and crap like that.
I only froze a few of apps.
Anything with DRM
Media Hub
All Share
Anything with bluetooth (I don't use them)
Daily briefing
Samsung Keypad
Samsung apps
Swype
Voice Recorder
Voice Search
Anyone know which system apps/processes I can freeze without screwing with the phone too much?
Hey I was wondering if there is a way to disable the press Home 2x shortcut to activate Voice Talk (or even uninstall it)?
It's not a big deal, but just a preference. And the shortcut seems to unlock my Widgetlock screen as well (not that it really happens often)
I can confirm i have frozen all voice related apps and including the one you mentioned and double press home does not start anything.
I dont use the voice apps and have not had any negative effects since. Hope this helps

Forgot to mention i used titanium backup pro to "freeze" apps. Its a safe way before deleting.

thanks, the thing is I dont see Voice Talk in my apps list in titanium backup.
I guess its called something else there.
But just like you i dont use any voice command apps so I guess I'll just freeze'em like you suggested.
thanks again =)
After searching for weeks, the only 'blacklisting apps' I can find are designed to blacklist certain numbers.
Is there currently an app where you can search your currently running processes, and add a selected process to a list that will not automatically start running unless manually overridden?
There are WAY too many apps that I rarely use but want to keep, or cannot remove, that keep popping up and slowing down my performance, and i want a way to manually clean up, and keep things tidy.
Thanks in advance for any input!
Anybody? I find it hard to believe that there is no way to do this with all of the experienced people on this platform... Im aware that you can FREEZE procceses and apps with Titanium Backup, but I'd rather not pay for that if i dont have to...

I've never used it, but I think that's what you want.
I use Bloat Freezer Free and find it excellent.
Should be easy enough to find on android market.

Is there a way to remove old apps that you will never use again from the list off apps under the All Apps heading?

Yup, use Titanium Backup.

Let me restate more clearly. Inside of Google play, there is a list of apps that I have loaded and unloaded at some time. How can I shrink down that list.

Hi Everyone.
I just purchased a Verizon LG V30 VS996 and I have been installing all of my apps and setting up phone.
Last night I removed a bunch of apps using ADB that I thought were not needed (im sure most were not), but I realized this morning I have no contacts in Google Contacts. I deleted the built in contacts app last night. I cant add any contacts, when I try to it says No App was found to handle this function.
Does anyone have the Stock contacts or dialer apk from LG so I can reinstall it and have access to all my contacts again.
I prefer not to factory reset and set everything up from scratch again.
Thanks,
Ben

The stock dialer/contacts does not store your contacts.

So what have I accidentally uninstalled through ADB that may have caused my contacts to disappear and not be able to add any new contacts in ?
I have tried 3 contacts apps from Google Play and I have the same issue with them all.

No idea. You shouldn't delete things without knowing what they are. Contacts app is exactly that. A contacts app, plus dialer. Contacts aren't stored in any dialer.
Did you delete Contacts Storage? Any sync or cloud service apps? Any Google services?
Try a factory reset.

I believe I deleted something called cloud, but the icon was red leading me to believe it was Verizon bloat and not something necessary. Didn't delete anything Google and don't think any thing with the sync related.
If you had disabled it with package disabler, you could simply re-enable it. Deleting with ADB doesn't really accomplish anything. It doesn't give you more space to use. You only have access to the user partition to install/store data. Those apps removed via ADB are in the system partition.
So, disabling with package disabler or using ADB has the same effect for a non-rooted user -- EXCEPT when you need to add something back you messed up your phone by deleting... in that case, simply disabled wins every time as it's an easy fix.
I haven't disabled anything on my V30+ and my phone runs fast. But then I have the open market LG US998, which has no carrier bloatware.

I would like to have the Google Apps and I don't want the LG apps in my App Drawer.
If I disable those apps with package disabler then will they still be in my app drawer?
Will package disabler disable only the LG apps or the Verizon ones too ?
Thanks,
Ben

It's a package disable. It disables packages (ie apps). Have you never went into the settings and disabled an app before? Because that's what it does.

What @partylikeaninjastar said. The "package disabler" (app disabler) disables apps. The difference is it lets you also disable SYSTEM APPS which non-rooted users can't easily do. Carriers like Verizon often make their bloatware be "system" apps so they can't easily be disabled like user apps.
But the danger is there are essential or at least quite useful apps you should not disable. And they are NOT classified as "essential" or "useful". They are just all there. LGSetup Wizard controls Always on Display. It's not just for "setup". Stuff like that.
