I just got a brand new LT26i from telcel and i have searched the forums and whats the best way to put ICS and what custom rom do u recomend?
the best way to put ics is thru SEUS or PC companion, for the rom you should try for yourself for what suits you best.
by the way youre on the wrong section
this should be posted on the Q&A.
And custom roms require unlocked bootloader.

Hi. I have xperia ray, GB .42 rooted and cwm too. S I 1251 4132.
I want to upgrade to official ics from sony.
Can i update it with PCC????
I read that upgrading with Pcc can brick my phone cos my phone has been rooted. Is that true ???
Or my root just close????
Please help...
I am sorry a lot of questions and i really need the answer.
By the way, thank u very much, cos i am really confusing right know

Hi, you are absolutely able to upgrade by PCC, even your phone is rooted. it also won't make your phone brick.
but if your phone is unlockbootloader through Sony official methode, it will brick your phone.
updating via pcc nor seus makes your root status break. so you must re-root after upgrading.
Thank u
I read many posts here and also on sony talk....
Ics run great if the SI number has the same with ics room....
I read the list for ics 4.0.4 SI number that can be upgrade to ics..
But i havent understand yet...
Or i have to use custom room like cm9 but i dont want to unlock my bootloader
Thanks anyway

just connect your phone to pcc and you will see if 4.0.4 is out for your phone and update if it is, you wont brick your phone but you have to root phone again
My SI number is on the list...
It means that i can upgrade, right?
By the way...
Is the rom just for indonesia country or not?
I dont understand about this SI number..
Or this official ics can be upgrade by anybody if they have same SI number as mine????

Hi all. Idiot here. ive had a little look around and can't seem to find how to install ICS on my neo manually. the update for my neo should have come a while ago, but i am still on Gingerbread. Please someone point me in the right direction to get ICS please.
OH and am from UK, and my SI number says i should of got it a while ago. and i don't want to root or install new ROM JUST yet..
try with SEUS or Pc companion
if they dont update your phone your last solution is this
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/35239?tstart=0
If you want to flash ICS manually then it can be easily done through flashtool..
It doesn't require rooting your phone or unlocked bootloader..
Just refer to the thread..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1678690
This has the Neo ICS ftf file which you need to flash using flashtool!
The same thread has the link to flashtool also in case you don't about it!

flashtool does not root or unlock bootloader of your device until you do it by your own.
It is a tool to install firmwares on Sony Xperia Devices.
So do not worry about it thanks to neectron for a helpful thread on Sola Development Section

Is it safe to upgrade to ICS? I am very confused? i have done this before but I dont wanna take risk with me new phone. Is this ICS update bug free?
And if something went wrong can i go back to my origional software?
No there isnt any risk
Ucs is always better in all means than gingerbread..
But at the same will consume a bit more ram..
Nothing goes wrong normally..
Its safe and if sumthing goes wrong flash back to gb using flashtool..
Otherwise no prob..

There are many ICS TFt files on the link which one is correct one?
I am downloading this torrent file "Stock Global 6.1.1.B.1.10 -torrent". It contains two files one is ftf and other is a small md5 file. What I have to do with this md5 file?
Very very very slow. Came back to to GB. Runs like lightening. uffffff.

Welcome to the Xperia Club Hope you like your new phone
Anyway, Here's FlashTool.. It includes Fastboot in the new versions so not needed
There are several kernels to try out, Munjeni's and GekTheBoss's for a sample.. You'll see them at the top of the Xperia U Development Thread. I think its simpler than me linking to it
Same goes for recovery (Personally recommend CWM Touch Recovery for Locked Bootloader )
Edit: Forgot about the Unlocking part :Check this out, seems simple enough : Unlock Bootloader for Xperia U
Cheers

Can I directly update from 6.0.B GB TO 6.1.B.1.54 ICS?
Sent from my ST25i using xda app-developers app
Yeah.. Just flash the FTF and it'll be fine Just make sure you use the right Baseband,ie, depeniding on ST25i or ST25a
I recommend 6.1.1.C.1.0 Its the smoothest of the 3 and although nearly same as B.1.54, tethering is broken in the latter ! In case you run ST25a phone, select the option to "Exclude Baseband" if you flash C.1.0.. Same thing with ST25i and B.1.54
Custom Roms can be installed as usual using CWM, custom kernels with Unlocked bl.etc etc

Mine is ST25i...depending on the baseband didnt understand that part

There are 2 spectrums of 3G which differ by country. the B.1.54 version is from a country which uses the GSM spectrum of ST25a. Hence, the baseband of that rom should be avoided otherwise, you wont get 3G Connectivity there, Similary, c.1.0 uses ST25i's supported baseband and hence, ignore baseband if you're using ST25a...
For you, either Flash C.1.0 directly or instead, flash B.1.54 with "Exclude Baseband" selected

Glad to help buddy I just started out myself 2 weeks back Feel free to Message me if you got any doubts Ill try to help if I can
Are you sure that .54 is for st25a? On this forum you can find ftf from Spain and it works fine on my st25i. I didn't exclude anything when I flashed my phone.
There was b.10 that was from Australia and it was for st25a.
Hm.. There must be multiple ftfs floating around.. The ones I have (which i think are the most common, not sure) were like that.. But I might be mistaken.. Just to be safe, when you open Flashtool, you'll see the correct f/w designated If Flashtool says its for st25i or st25a and you have the opposite device, Ignore Baseband Probably the more correct approach to it anyway Thx for pointing out my mistake
Cheers!
Wow, look at this place. This forum is a hell of a lot nicer than the Atrix section, which is filled with cynics. I just ordered this phone to replace my broken Atrix (unfixable corrupted partitions/broken wear leveller) mainly due to official ICS (which Atrix doesn't even have, lol) and the price. Currently reading through these forums so i can flash easier when it arrives. I know of FlashTool (helped a friend flash his Xperia Ray or something) and it's a very nice package.
Now done with everything flashed 1.54 and flashed brains ROM...suggest some best roms guy's

Try out my own rom dude Its attached in Signature Flash stock FTF, then apply my rom through cwm
