Mute gestures with Google Music - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was wondering if there was a way to use common S3 mute gestures, like covering the screen with your palm or turning the phone on its face, while running google music. It doesn't seem to work for me.

[Q] How to keep SPEAKERPHONE & MUTE buttons on screen when KEYPAD is active?

Is there a way to keep the SPEAKERPHONE and MUTE buttons active on the screen while the KEYPAD is active and on the screen?
I can see the reason why it wasn't done like this before when Android was on smaller screens but we have so much screen space now and when I activate the KEYPAD, I can see there's still plenty of room for 2 more buttons.
It's no deal breaker by any means, but a nice refinement feature now that Android is more mature.

[Q] Audio Book Player controls

Hi
I inherited a Samsung Galaxy 4 player from my daughter. I want to use it primarily for listening to audio books and have installed smart audio player for this purpose.
Earlier I was using an old Windows Phone. On that device if I turn off the display or it turns off after the specified interval, when I turn it back on the audio player controls (play/pause control primarily) are visible on top of the screen saver making it easy to pause or resume.
With the android device however, this is not the case. If the display goes off when I turn it back on (using the button on the top right side of the device) I am presented with a screen saver and an instruction to sweep glass to unlock. There are no audio player controls visible.
Is there anyway to bypass that initial screen, i.e. not have it display at all? Since more often than not I would have been in the audio player app before the display turned off, at least I have direct access to the controls.
Let me know if my request makes sense or you need additional information.
Thanks

Screen wakes up and disconnects a handsfree call while in the pocket.

Hi,
I sometimes use headphones for calls and keep the phone in the pocket.
Power button is hard coded to disconnect the calls so it's difficult to turn off the display during a handsfree call. It's a stupid decision on xiaomi's side. I now have placed lock button in the notification panel just for this purpose.
But the real problem is that, this extra sensitive screen wakes up in the pocket with some movements and as it's already unlocked because of the call, sometimes the call gets disconnected.
Is there any solution? I don't want to disable tap to wake up function. This problem also persists with audio navigation with Google maps.

Question Spotify controls on lock screen

Hi all
im still an Android newbie so apologies if this has been asked before. I did search the forum before posting and got some older hits but I’ve not been able to fix my issue.
I have a P6 non rooted and use Spotify. I’d like to see the basic controls on my Lock Screen. Is this possible?
The only thing I can think of is Notifications. Do you allow Spotify to show Notifications and do you allow Notifications to be shown on your lock screen?
Hi there. I believe I have all of the settings correct to allow Spotify, yes.
Im Stumped
Hold on a moment. I set my screen to be off.
Pressed the power button whilst music was playing. The lock screen lights up and hey presto. I have Spotify controls.
So the problem is related to the always on screen when on standby.

Is it possible to control phone volume without touching the phone or via screen gesture?

Hello!
Is it possible to control phone volume without touching the phone or via screen gesture?
Phonetic command would be great but Google Assistant does not work when the speakers are playing.
Showing something on the camera (similar to face recognition would be ideal.
If not, then perhaps a screen touch gesture would be the next preference.
Or if you have anything else in mind!
Thanks!
Use a bluetooth keyboard.
