Hi
My model is SGH-i747M ICS 4.04, I'm a new user. In my car I have Clarion NX602, the only setting for c is on/off, it is a phone that must connect.
In my old phone, I could connect, no prob, just by entering a simple code 0000 manually in the phone. Was working great so HU is working correctly..
S3 is detecting car device, but instead of giving me a possibility of entering the code manually, is creating random code (6 digits) by itself. Of course this code is not correct so I can't connect.I have only two buttons OK and Cancel. If I chose Cancel, It closes connection.
What a disaster! I badly need Bluetooth, I'm driving a lot for work.
Is there any way to manually enter the code?
Thanks
Stephane

Hi everybody,
i'm using my phone as gps navigation system in car and further im using it, while it's connected over bluetooth, to receive and do phone calls. Everything works fine. The only thing that bothers me is, that every time i get a call the phone window pops up over the navigation software and remains visible as long as im using the phone. Does anybody know a trick/software to prevent poping up that phone window while a special bluetooth connection is established?
I don't need the phone window, because the board computer of my shows all necessary informations about the phone(call).
Thanks for any help.
Chris
When pairing my phone with my new Mercury Milan (which uses Sync) I was having some issues. Basically every time I tried to enter the 6 digit pin the car gave me it would error out. It appears that either there is a very short time out period or that the phone does not support 6 digit Bluetooth PINs.
To connect your phone to the car you need to get to the point where is gives you the 6 digit pin. Then by pressing a button (usually volume +) you can prompt the car to give you a special pin which is 0000. Using the 0000 "special" pin I was able to pair my phone with the car on the first shot.
This may also be an issue for other devices that default to 6 digit pins. I hope this helps someone out as it frustrated me for a few days and they shouldn't have to play with different radios and ROMs if I already did it for them
Thanks for the informative post.
Hi guys,
I already used the search, but no answer to my issue.
Here it is:
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 (SGS2) and still using the original ROM.
I bought a TomTom bluetooth remote to try to connect to my phone reffering the following link:
Due to I'm new no links are allowed!
norvangorgi.blogspot.com/2011/10/using-tomtom-bluetooth-remote-with.html
After some tries, I find the remote and now I stuck at point 3:
When the blue light on the remote stops blinking, select the remote on your Android device and pair with the passcode "0000".
Now the real problem.
When I tab on the Remote to connect, I will never be asked to enter a PIN.
Android/SGS2 always shows me a PIN which I should enter on the remote.
Due to there are no number, impossible!
Is there a way to force android to enter a pin or does somebody have an idea to solve this issue?
Thanx in advance!
Nobody an idea?
I have a weird problem with my SGSII. If i connect my phone to my car bluetooth with the car charger, it stay connected for as long as I am in the car. If however i connect to the car on battery, once the screen turns off I lose bluetooth connect. I have tried changing the screen time and that didn't work, I also tried making my bluetooth visable always and that also didn't work. Can't understand why it only happens while on battery.
Any suggestions?
I have the same issue with bluetooth on my SII.
Whenever the screen is asleep bluetooth devices will not connect, I have to turn the screen on to allow the devices to connect.
I've setup auto pairing in the linkkeys file which works fine if the screen is on (so no prompts to pair devices, just works).
The main device I want to use is a liveview, which I understand has problems, but I've tested other devices and the phone seems to be at fault.
It can't be designed that bluetooth will only connect if your using your phone, kinda defeats the purpose of most bt devices.
tried making my phone always visible, and even tried disabling the lock screens.
using CM7 stable, and a fix would be highly appreciated!
Hmmm.... I don't have that problem.
Maybe some weird power save option?
that's what I was thinking, but I've not been able to find any settings on the phone or through google.
I've just updated to the latest cm7 nightly and the problem seems to be the same. It has an addition bluetooth setting called 'Fast Connections' but this doesn't seem to change anything.
The only other thing I've noticed is that the linkkeys file that I edited to allow the liveview to auto pair (without me having to pull down the notification bar nad authorise it) seems to keep re-editing the file so the phone prompts to pair, so I'm assuming now that's the issue rather than a power thing, so how to prevent that?
I've recently upgraded my ROM on my S2 i9100 phone from the standard 4.1.2 official to various unofficial ROMs. None of these allow me to use the hands-free features of the MKi9200 device. All of them will pair with the Parrot but the phone-book does not sync. Pressing the green button on the Parrot (which should allow you to voice dial) simply gives the message "phonebook is busy please wait".
I have reached out to Parrot without any joy to date even after 8 emails each way. My symptoms to them were along the following lines.
"1. The phone pairs with the MKi9200 still but still does not automatically connect when I get into the car.
2. After pairing the phone, the menu item “Bluetooth/paired phones” is still greyed out. It used to have my phone listed there before I upgraded. I guess that this is why the MKi does not automatically connect.
3. As noted above, I have to manually connect my phone now, whereas before I upgraded the smartphone Android version, it connected automatically. When it does connect, it says it is synchronising for a second or two.
4. I can dial a number using the “Phonebook” on the MKi device using the central knob and the menu system. I cannot use the green button as it always says the “phonebook is busy please wait”, even after 15 minutes.
5. When I finish a call, the iPod music does not restart automatically and I cannot start it manually using the “Play” button. The green play icon appears for a few seconds then goes away. I can play a track/playlist by selecting it from the menu system and the central knob.
6. I can play music from my iPod through the MKi9200 but when I press Pause, the red “pause” icon appears and the MKi “freezes”. I have to reboot the MKi to get it to work again.
7. I have tried various options for pairing the phone such as “force AT sync” but none have worked yet."
Any clues from anyone would be very welcome. I've had the Parrot for nearly 10 years and love it. I know it still o=works as I can pair an old phone (with my SIM card in it) and it works flawlessly. There is clearly something about unofficial ROMs that it doesn't like.
For info, I have always installed Micro GAPS or lower and have tried disabling bluetooth scanning and the software "Bluetooth File Transfer (Android)" by Medieval (versions 5.2 and the latest).
Parrot say the MKi9200 is not compatible with Android 8 but I have tried various other ROMs below that with no success.
Apologies if this post is in the wrong place but it seems to be an unofficial ROM thing to me. I feel there is something in these ROMs which is not compatible with my Parrot and was hoping someone would know what that was.
