help please - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

i would post in meanrom but im not permitted yet. i want to b able to overclock on meanrom. ive tried every method possible as mikey describes such as the zip file and using root explorer and saying yes at the prompt when backing out. the overclock has worked before on my evo but now its not. all the zip files in the meanrom ics folder work fine for rosie button remapping so forth. all but overclocking. i know quadrant is not the best but when the overclock works my score is always 5800 to 6300 at 1.782.also my current frequency and max frequency are 1.782. also cf bench and antutu are also much higher. if someone knows anything to help pleasa respond. thanks

SetCPU for Root Users
I would take a serious look at this application, which I have used successfully on the Evo 4G and my current LTE:
SetCPU for Root Users
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mhuang.overclocking&hl=en

how come you just dont use cleanrom you could overclock your evo to 2 mhz its a nice i was on mearom for while but cleanrom just a bit better give it a shot

[Q] overclock with just permatemproot

ok i got permatemproot on my evo 3d like a week ago and i randomly downloaded setcpu as i had it from my 4g. i opened it and i notice i had some room to move the slider to the right which said 1728mhz and i havent try install the kernel to let me overclock my phone. my question is does by just downloading root let me overclock my phone? im about to run smartbench to see if i see a difference thanks
Edit: at 1.2 i got 1876 and at 1.7 i got 3356 in smartbench. huge difference. any idea y we are able to overclock our phones with out a new kernel?

Because the kernel allows you to do so.

Maybe the script you were using to root automatically copied over the file overclock as well.
Yea i guess to pretty cool

That would be cool if it was the script. What did you use, I'd like to look at it?

[Q] Adjustable overclock kernel or app??

Hey guys i'm new to overlocking, rooting and rom flashing on HTC phones. I have had motorola phones in the past, droid, droidx bionic, razr and have always rooted, overclocked and undervolted. Is there some way or app for the rezound that will let me adjust overclock speeds and voltage? I know there is setcpu but what i'm looking for is a app like milestone overclock that I used along with setcpu on my droid x?
incredicontrol
incredicontrol says its for "single core" htc devices only. Anything else?
CPU master from antutu is pretty worth it

Download the beta in the development section.
Or go to incredikernel.com and get incredicontrol beta 3

Does one need this even with a custom kernel such as ziggy's or dsb?

If you want to change clocking speed or undervolt/overvolt from what the kernel Dev set the default to, yes. Otherwise you're not really taking advantage of the kernel. If a kernel is overclockable....Dev's usually leave the speed close to stock because some phones rspond differently.
System tuner pro is the best. Does everything. I use it and CPU master

[Q] Rom with manual voltage manipulation

Is there a rom with opened voltage manipulation for the cdma 3d? I know I may be acting like a noob but I have searched and not found concrete answers. I am away from my evo 3d at the moment so I can not randomly test roms to see. So obviously my question is: Is there a rom which offers user controlled voltages and not just rom creator's pre set voltages?
Ics rom maybe

I don't know about a rom but what about setcpu

Well with mean rom and the anthrax kernal I am only able to adjust cpu speed, not the actual voltages for each of the cpu steps.

Is there an app for GPU overclock?

Hi guys! I've been using Pedja's app for GPU overclocking, but it resets my 3d clock speed to a random frequency. Is there another way to achieve GPU overclock?
And, also, a way to force both cores online? System Tuner doesn't seem to work for me. :crying:
EDIT: I've figured out the problem with system tuner, so focus on the GPU overclock .
I don't know but i think tasker or set cpu could do some work(i'm 10% sure that they could sth):highfive:
Best way is use a custom kernel that has oc options during installation.
sudo passwd root
Yeah use "he who should not be named" kernel and you have the option to select GPU oc

I am currently using coolexe's latest kernel which supports gpu oc, but I am looking for a way to set my own desired frequency.

Just be very careful, gpu will fry if you've ever had the older xbox you know about the red rings of death, 3d already gets extremely hot playing games, just my thoughts

If a kernel maker hasn't included a certain frequency, there is good reason for that. Going higher will be unstable, or fry your chit.
sudo passwd root
Just another thought our evo's are called smart phones not smart games players(psp, gameboy 3d) I believe 320 is the max

The "Dual Core" app in the GSM section works well with kernels that support GPU overclocking.
Go to anryl thread and get anryl tweaks, does the same job as dual core app, but with less focus on gui

HTC underclocked the GPU, which means that it will probably be stable at maximum frequency.

When I decide to overclock my GPU, I can assure you that I am fully aware of the risks and take that in consideration. I haven't mentioned anything regarding max frequency, because I am already familiar of that. And, you don't buy an EVO 3D for talking only, do you? If you do, then it's your problem, not mine. I want to spend some time gaming on my phone for instance and I do not want to carry multiple devices at the same time when I can carry only one. So, if you don't have anything smart to say, better don't say anything. This is not helping me at all.

Anryl's app is unstable and buggy, so that's why I've removed it. But, I will give it a try.

As I've already stated in the beginning, the "Dual Core" app HAS A BUG WHICH RESETS THE GPU FREQUENCY TO A RANDOM NUMBER! That's why I am opening a thread here, to find out with your help if there's another way to do it. Obviously, it would have been better if I hadn't opened this thread at all. More trouble than helpfulness.

Thanks!
So far:
1917 appears to be unstable and quickly crashes my phone.
1809 isn't quite so bad, but seems to be causing issues as well, including display quirks.

If I recall correctly, after lots of testing when the phone came out, the people who had root concluded that something around 1.46 GHz was the fastest OC that was stable. The 1.5 GHz the same processor runs at in other phones wasn't supposedly even stable. I know we have a different kernel now, but there's no way, in my opinion, that 1.9 GHz would be stable anyway. Usually overclocking isn't done over 1/3 the base clock speed, much less almost 60% above the base clock speed. And how much performance would you really gain vs power lost due to the OC? I haven't run across an app yet which needs more than a couple seconds to load, and everything runs smoothly.
Not to say that I don't appreciate your efforts in making the overclock, because I appreciate everyone who's developing for this phone, but maybe you should start with a lower maximum overclock speed, then get feedback from multiple people on how it runs, then move up. Once you reach the upper limit of stability, limit the maximum overclock speed to that. I'm honestly surprised you could even get Antutu to finish its test without it crashing. With the people who test it, you're more than likely going to get an overwhelming majority who say that upper levels break the phone.
1.46 is good enough for me - really gives this device an edge, makes it feel snappier. how can i load this on boot automatically?

Re: [MOD]Team fireballas 1.9ghz overclock module
I'm unsure if overclocking this phone is even worth the abuse the phone will take from overclocking the only phone I ever overlocked was my old LG ally which was set at 600mhz stock so pushing it to 800mhz made since but as of now my CPU speed is fine stable and productive I feel like I would be overclocking for the sake of saying I overclocked my phone. Is anyone seeing any enhancements? I appreciate the work on this don't get me wrong just adding my two cents on overclocking.

I tried it for the sake of trying. I have no performance issues whatsoever with the stock CPU speed (which is what I am back to using)

You're still on the test build? How's that been? I've been thinking about going back to that BC everything worked for me. The only thing is the lock screen wasa little wonky
