You can only use S-Beam if you use a stock rom or a custom rom that is based on stock. Custom roms like Cyanogenmod do not include this feature.

use android beam instead, stock roms can both!

Hi there!
I am wanting to update my Samsung Galaxy GT-i9300 but am worried about the process because of having installed a custom kernel previously (would this muck up installing a new custom rom I wonder..)
Please find attached a screenshot of the settings and please tell me what I should do (if anything needs done) before I flash a new custom rom.
Cheers!
if you're worried about kernels, then just flash stock kernel then flash a custom rom on it.

kk, could you provide me with a suitable stock kernel (or links to one) which will be compatible with the rom I have installed?
any stock kernel that is for jb will be fine.

I am on android version 4.0.4 (so technically not JellyBean). and its safe to flash a stock kernel for JB despite being on that version before I flash a custom rom?
Sorry for asking, get confused easily..
you should be fine updating with a custom kernel (as all roms flash a kernel as well). Just make sure you factory reset when moving from ics to JB as you will most likely encounter problems if you don't.

I would suggest flashing ICS stock kernel first if you're worried. I thought you were already on jb.

Easy
Reflash the stock ics ROM
And flash any custom ROM you want
Enjoy

I am running terrasilent 1.3.5 on my YP-G1 US and I would like to know if all the custom roms for it will work with it. Also, what custom roms work best? And is installing any CM7/CM9 custom roms any different from stock based ones?

Just about to flash a ROM on my S3 (first time), and I'm just asking are different version ROMs compatible with the stock version ROM? e.g: I have a s3 running Jellybean 4.1.1 (stock) but can I flash a different ROM that's made for ICS?
Thanks

Just make sure, that your s3 version is made for the rom. If so you should be able to flash all roms. Why would you want to go back to ics?

When you mean s3 version do you mean like GT-i9300 etc.? And so if it was made for that (GT-i9300), I would be able to flash any ROM?
yes
hi, im running wanamlite latest 4.1.2 rom and boeffla kernel. was wondering is it possible to flash cyanogen custom 4.2.2 camera, if not what other recommended custom cameras are out there?
Yes, you can flash AOSP 4.2 camera into it, but really no much different other than photosphere and which you will probably never use it.

Sorry to ask this question. But I think it is allowed because I didn't ask What is best ROM. I searched for CM based stock ROM. No matter it is stock S2, S3, S4. All I found is stock based ROMs. Can anyone give me a line for CM10, stock based ROM?
Thanks in advance.

As CM is AOSP (and a different framework), the whole concept of a 'CM based stock rom' doesn't make a lot of sense does it ?

Maybe I ask the question wrongly. I show some low end phone has ported it. Ofcause porting full stock will be nearly impossible. I just need stock look and feel in CM ROM

its very difficult to merge the stock ui with CM roms as it is aosp......
even if someone successful to merge these then it is max probability that it might be a buggy rom......
but as said its difficult but not possible:good:
