Hello everyone,
I did the bootloader unlock process today. According to the Flashtool 0.9 the unlock was successful. However, I had once seen a video on youtube saying that after the bootloader has been unlocked, the Sony Ericsson logo will no longer be seen on starting the phone..on my phone, it's still there when I rebooted(even after multiple reboots).
Is there some kind of problem?
Thanks
It's sorta normal

Hello, depends on kernel you have flashed. If you have successfully flashed custom Kernel FTF via flashtool for Unlocked Bootloader (like DoomKernel, KCernel, FeraKernel, ThKernel and so on), you will not see SE Logo anymore but replaced by custom Kernel's Boot logo If you first time unlocked bootloader, it's sorta normal
Flash Custom Kernel will solve it Hope helps

Different kernels have different animations but you will see some kind of Sony logo usually unless you have installed a CM/AOSP/AOKP ROM.... in that case you will see some different things.... its OK chill as long as phones is working don't worry about animations....

Hi all,
I saw in the Android development topic that it's possible to unlock the bootloader.
Why would I want to unlock the bootloader? What are the (dis-)advantages?
Greets,
Jarcol
The bootloader in our phone lock us down from pretty much doing anything to.the phone. But when we unlock it we are then able to control the phone ourselves. (theoretically) we are able to do what the hell we want to this phone now. For example unlocking the bootloader simply allows you to flash unsigned/modified .sin files.
Now. This will not happen overnight as there is a lot of things to it mate. What you need to remember is there is hardware to think about and and a hell of a lot more.
Hope this helps!!
Yup, agreed. Main thing is to load custom kernal without load stock kernal. Which mean custom kernal load directly.

Flash DooMLoRDs unlocked kernel and if it doesn't display the white "Sony Ericsson" text upon start-up, then it's unlocked
I've flashed Dooms kernel and now is appearing an android logo with 2 vertical color bars top and bottom.
Does this mean it's successfully unlocked ?
Because during the unlocking it gave some errors cause he couldn't find some files.
Thanks
yes it is unlocked.
but is that doon kernel not the one that causes the phone not to go into deep sleep and has serious battery drain issues?
i think u should go back to the stock kernel or just use the Doom stock kernel. that one has just xrecovery put into it, and nothing else, meaning its practically the same as stock kernel.
shame that the bootloader unlock is coming at a time when all the Devs are moving on/have moved on to other phones. a week now and nothing new to report about for X10.

Is it possible to unlock the bootloader with the smartphone locked to Vodafone or other service provider? If not, how can I unlock the smartphone?
Yes, you can. My sim-card is also locked, i suggest you unlock bootloader from newest flashtool cuz it's easier.
Or use the guide by 9Lucas5 (use semc.bat)
I tried to use the 9Lucas5 guide but I've got no results, probably because I have emuled Windows on my MAC OS .
But I haven't tried with this new version of the flashtool yet. Do I need any firmware?

I have x10i too, but it didn't work. Tomorrow I will try again.
I have many times unlocked bootloader, perfectly know this procedure and has noticed, that sometimes it is possible to reach result, only by preliminary flashing of official 2.1 ROM. Certainly, thus it is not more necessary to do "kernel downgrade"

Use flashtool method not kernel up/down method it slightly old and flashtool is a one button method which doesn't require changing kernel in any way (from gb)

That's not what it does. It means that if u use a custom kernel it will boot into that straight away, saving time, rather than booting up semc kernel then custom one (hence why se logo disappears on boot)

Hello, by judging your situation, did you unlock your bootloader before flashing ftf files? What kinda kernel you flashed? Telling more detail about it, will help you more to get solution from other members/seniors
Suggestions: If not, try unlock bootloader and reflash those kernel, as last option.
Mostly FTF Kernel flashing for unlocked bootloaders, not Locked Bootloader. Most cause is wrong kernel flashing, lead to failed-operating function and Blackscreen.
And Sorry, i don't have skype can't do faster haha
And it's late night here. Sorry if i can't reply sooner. I'm sure other members will be gladly help you if they had similar experience. Night and Good Luck for fixing

I recently flashed a CM9 based rom on my Xperia Sola, but after flashing its touchscreen stopped working, don't know why?I tried flashing .54 ftf via flashtool,it installed perfectly but it didn't make touchscreen respond. Then i tried it repairing through SUS but to no avail.Does anybody here know what would've gone wrong because i haven't flashed any custom kernel on it(yep locked bootloader) and i don't think that a rom can damage hardware(i know 'cause i have been porting CM9 based roms on my sola and they worked perfectly without any flaw). Is it the calibration problem or something?Don't know what should i do now.....

Yes the different device ftf may cause touchscreen fault due to driver mismatching/wrong kernel, but i was using Sola's ftf so that is ruled out.Although you are right that something different is corrupting the screen 'cause Xperia Mini had the same problem that was related to some rom flashing.
Or may be,the flashtool doesn't format all the partitions of the phone and there are some hardware files still lurking somewhere in the one of the partition thats causing the problem, but its just my guess.
I thought that only wrong kernel can cause hardware failure, didn't knew that a simple rom flash can do this,so lesson learnt:silly:

By 'touchscreen keeps black' you mean that there is no display, that there may be some hardware fault,You should take it to the sevice center.

Does the touchscreen fault occured after flashing a rom/mod or after a physical damage?
If it is related to some physical damage, the solution won't work and you have to send it to service center.

Hello everyone,
I have joined here hoping to get some advice, so i will be as complete with my situation as i can.
So, i rooted my phone, installed busybox, root explorer and CWM. No problems so far.
Read up on rom installations and attempted my first one. Cannot remember the rom at the moment but followed instructions as in "back up", wipe cache etc....
Now the phone is in bootloop, whereby it switches on, goes to sony erricson screen, blue light flashes and then goes blank. I cannot enter CWM, i cannot switch off until i remove battery.
I have tried both pc companion repair and seus repair but both say no software for phone(pc companion) and newest software installed(seus).
I have tried booting into safe mode the old fashioned way, but no go and finally....i have shouted obscenities at my phone but that doesn't work either.:silly:
any suggestions, or should i assume that it is bricked and send off for repair if possible?
Thank you.
Hey bro have you locked or unlocked bootloader?
Flash stock .587 firm with flashtool.

Follow step by step. Is recomendable before install a rom. Flash stock firm.
