Hi All. I've unlocked the bootloader and am trying to reflash stock kernel after something went wrong with a custom flash.
However, flashtool is stuck at

[Q] Can't flash with Flashtool. "ERROR Flashing aborted"

Hi!
I hava X10a (xPeria X10 Mini) phone with 2.0.A.0.504 firmware. Rooted.
I have enabled Unknown Sources and USB Debugging
I have SEUS installer
I have disabled UAC in Windows (Windows 7 x64)
I have enabled root permissiont through Superuser for Flashtool
Despite all that, when I try to flash the X10a_2.1update1_r2.1.A.0.435_Generic.ftf firmware with Flashtool, I follow the instructions loading the firmware and putting the phone in flash mode, but Flashtool fails. I can boot back the phone and use it as normal. No brick, no black screen.
I searched the forums, but found no one with a similar problem...
Here's the log.

Sounds like a corrupt .ftf file.
Download it and try flashing again (from same source) . If that also fails try a different source.
If that fails try a different flash tool version.
Hope this works

I already verified the MD5 checksum, and its the same on than the official Flashtool
thread download link.
I also tried Flashtool v 0.2.9.1 and 0.2.8.0 with the same results
Is there any other Flashtool I can try?
Try it again this time hold the back button down until you see flashtool has sent the loader

Well I had the same problem and I had to use a different firmware to flash with flashtool. I think the ftf file he used is corrupted if that is possible.

Not sure, above he says he checked the MD5 checksum. I suppose he'll have to try a different firmware altogether.

i'm having the same problem now on my so-01b xperia docomo. i have flashed my with a stock x10 generic ftf, it was a successful flash but after a while it just suddenly lost power. when i try to boot it, it just vibrate and nothing!!!! now i have tested so many roms, but just showing "error flashing aborted" man pls somebody help us... i have done some searching and most of them tells me its cpu flash ic problem!!!
there could be 3 possible reasons
1) backbutton not kept pressed enough
quick check : when it says abort do you still see green light near the usb, if yes they you are still in flash mode, if no then key was not pressed on time.
2) FTF could be corrupted : md5sum should do the job here.
3) USB drivers might have gone heywire, suggest reinstalling drivers.
Drivers are inside driver folder in flashtool folder.
hope this helps
hi.
I have the same problem ,yes the green light stays on I have waited like 10 minutes it wouldnt turned off .
I re installed the drivers too,I installed (Golden Gate) too but didnt help .
downloaded and installed another firmware but didnt help .
Plz someone help
Same problem here. I've tried several different firmware, tried several ways to plug phone in, nothing will allow it to finish the flash. One time it actually got closed to finishing the system.bin but then gave the error, so it doesn't always stop at the same time.
Hey guys I am thinking you are talking about what I went through and the fix for my experience was....goto device and printer and click on "A6SOPEME IDE Controller" or semc boot/usb whatever....any ways it was shown in Device and Printers with a little yellow triangle with the exclamation mark in it after a flash. Just uninstall after your flash and then try again.

This is about the fifth person I've seen with the problem also, has me wondering the same, although my suggestion helped one or two of them, others seem to be running into an error still.
hey guys !
guess what I turned my phone on ,as I have found a solution for it I thought it wouldnt be fair to not share it with you guys.
I tried everything just name it ...I dont know where the real problem was but solution is keep pressing the the BACK button (the arrow points to the left) and press power button at the same time . phone will turn on .
there is no problem with your computer or anything its phone itself.
but now I got another problem phone reads the simcard but doesnt receive or send any call says Emergency calls only ...or when u dial a number it says OUT OF SERVICE AREA...anybody can help me with this?

Xperia U won't be recognized by Computer

Hey fellas I really need some help over here. First of all, I'd like to say that I'm kinda new to all this stuff so please be kind.
I unlocked my bootloader and rooted my phone some time ago and now decided to install a Custom Rom. So I choose this Rom "LiGux-ICS", my device was already on ICS and I selected the boot.img in the zip package for the kernel. (Up to now I've just been following the instructions)
Now here comes my problem, instead of putting the zip files on my SD Card I unpacked them and put them on my Card, simply because I didn't know better. Now when I start my phone theres no mobile connection, no wifi and also my Computer doesnt detect the device anymore. So basically I cant do anything with it right now.
I tried to download the drivers manually so my Computer can detect the "unknown device", but it didn't work.
I can't go into Fastboot mode because my device wont be recognized, I tried to install the Fastboot drivers via Flashtool, but it didn't work either.
So right now I really dont know what to do anymore an I'm hoping you pros can!
Model Number: ST25i (Xperia U)
Android V: 4.0.4.
Baseband Version: Unknown
Build Number: 6.1.1.B.1.10
Kernel Version: [email protected])) #0 SMP PREEMPT
Here's the link to the Rom I used: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2055679
I hope thats all you need to help me out here, thanks in advance
connect your device in flash mode(volume down while plugging in cable) and flash it with stock kernel so that you can revert it to stock with flash tool
Probably, you don't know anything about flashing I hope.
Download latest ICS .ftf files and place it on firmwares folder of your flashtool then flash it.
Hope that will solve.
Try searching..
@kvnkarthik
Thanks for the quick reply, I've been searching for it the last hour now and cant find it anywhere, could you provide me a link maybe?
@littlezed
Already tried that, I get an Error when trying to flash a firmware
Wait a minute.. Did you even try to boot CWM after you flashed the kernel? :?
CM kernel are for CM ROMs. Try boot up to CWM and flash your ROM

Sorry, should have done that. I cant flash the roms because I didnt put the zip on my sdcard but the extracted folders, if there would be any option to install from folder, my problem would be solved within a second.

No you can't because the folder inside META-INF should be zipped and it is containing many symlinks scripts to get your ROM working.
How about this
Do you know about any ADB knowledge?
Try mounting your phone with recovery via
- Mounts and storage > Mount USB storage
- Your phone will not mount actually but ADB server is up
- You can push your zip via ADB by this command (Make sure your ROM zip is in ADB existing folder)
- Type "adb push the_name_of_your_rom.zip /sdcard
Then unmount it and install your rom.. Happy flashing

It's OK. If you still got problems, just flash your phone with ICS ftf It's OK man. Don't afraid to download. You'll be need that firmware in any time so it is not a waste to download that.
you can download it from here
http://www.androidgadgematic.com/2012/10/install-android-4-0-4-ics-official-sony-u-st25i.html
here I go again, I was full of hope to solve this problem but unfortunately I can't. My Phone is in CWM, I mounted the USB Mass Storage device and left it in the menu (it says it'll unmount if I leave the menu).
Downloaded adb, checked for devices and it shows me the list of attached devices... which are none. Nevertheless I tried to push it to my sdcard but it gives me an error: device not found. As of right now I'm really mad because nothing so far has worked for me. Is there anything I'm missing?! Did I do something wrong or why isnt there my freaking device in the list?!
Try to fastboot flash the kernel you had before
For a moment I was really happy but it seems that two new problems appear after I solve one. I managed to flash a matching kernel, could connect to my sdcard via pc and put the custom roms on it. Tried to flash the kernel with the boot.img in the Custom Rom's archive, which I have done yesterday and which worked just like a charm, and now it doesnt.
Flashtool shows me this error:
26/052/2013 21:52:16 - INFO - Device connected in flash mode

Seriously?! What the hell is going on, I feel like the biggest idiot ever, right now. Other than that, is it alright if the custom rom's a rar-file or does it really has to be a zip-file.
Ummmm maybe because you in flash mode and not fastboot mode?
Damn, my fault, with all those modes and buttons I guess I got confused. Got my Custom Rom running and everything works fine, thank you all for your help and patience, you're great )

[Q] Soft-brick after flashing

Hey guys,
first of all i need to state that i am an asshole. i used to flash kernels and stuff when i had LG optimus one, and i just assumed that flashing xperia p is almost the same. oh, i didn't know about bootloader. so, everything mentioned is totally my fault and i can't blame anyone but myself.
the situation is as follows: i install root, cwm, and then i flash sliding_xp kernel and MoonBreaker ROM just like manual says.
then, of course, my phone won't start - only vibration and nothing more.
OK, i google, and i find out that i need to flash stock kernel to save the phone.
OK, i install flashtool, and:
06/057/2013 23:57:27 - INFO - Device disconnected
06/057/2013 23:57:35 - INFO - Device connected in flash mode
06/057/2013 23:57:37 - INFO - Device disconnected
so i, like, have only two second to flash. i tried to do it and failed.
my PC runs win8 x64 and has no USB 2.0 ports, only 3.0.
i can't charge as well as it also disconnects after a couple of seconds. battery before flashing was about 60%.
any suggestions what can i do? i tend to try another PC, but i don't have any now.
@sciezka
Have you flashed with your PC before?
Jave you installed drivers from flashtool (specifically the 2 at the bottom of the list, fastboot & flasj mode)?
Try installing them following the steps in this post.if it doesn't work see the first post in that thread.

actually i failed even to do repairs with PC Companion with similiar symptomes (green/purple light goes off after a couple of seconds), but i did this with another PC. that's why i tend to do it again.
btw, but DooMLoRD easy rooting toolkit worked fine on my PC, but i guess it uses different drivers.
i also tried to do steps from that post you mentioned, but x64 restricted this modification. all i get is error message.

Don't even bother to flash untill you install the drivers and make sure flashmode stay on for ~45 seconds.
Did you install the drivers again in non safe boot ?
Is there a disable driver signing option in windows 8 boot menu? you can try that as well.

I meant force shut down, hold power + volume up for about 10-15 seconds untill you feel 3 vibrations, then try flash mode and fastboot mode.
Don't flash anything just leave flashtool open to see if they are on for more than few seconds.

It's difficult to tell a boot loop that ends before the logo come on from driver problem, but worth checking the device is off.

actually while your advice was great, it appears that the other thing i did made the difference since after i reverted it i couldn't connect anymore.
my laptop has only usb 3.0 ports, but you can fix the way they work (i'm not a specialist, but i say what i understood).
in BIOS you cand find USB settings. there you need to switch off xhci and switch on ehci. that allows to connect like i need. maybe this could be helpful for someone else.

[Q] sony sola stock boot loop

Hi - I hope you are having a good day.
My stock non-rooted xperia sola is stuck in a boot loop.
I have been reading forums for days. Have tried flashtool and also cwm.
Phone is totally standard - not even USB debug is turned on - unless this is the default.
On power up I get xperia logo and then Sony logo and then loops again forever.
Flashtool connects via my xp laptop but then has an error trying to flash.
Cwm does not find my device.
Any help much appreciated. I'm quite techno but not with phones ( yet)
Rob
I
I have also tried the obvious power + vol up button for restart and shutdown.

What windows version do you have?
Post a log for connecting with flash mode without flashing anything, just open flashtool and connect in flash mode.
Make sure you are using USB 2.0 ports, USB 3 won't work.
Bootloader locked?
Tried to flash in fastboot mode with flashtool?
Other way you can flash it is with adb commands, check this.
You have to use the kernel that your zip file has, obviously. It's in an .iso format.

Did you read all of it or just the itle?
First of all it's for different device, and second the flashing was done with fastboot.

Thanks - for the help but I managed last night to get it to work. I have XP SP3 & USB2.0 and I needed to go into to Safe Mode to connect the phone so that the drivers would load correctly.

First of all, I know, but I send that link because it's the same way to flash another Android device, with adb commands, if flashtool doesn't work, it's worth to try something else like adb commands? Yeah.
And second, sorry, didn't knew.

Next time you should use Sony's updater if something like a bootloop happens, it's much easier than using flashtool and installing drivers.
Sony Update Service or you can use Sony PC Companion too. It has a repair function.

What should i do and in which order?
What exactly you are trying to say?
Unlocking your bootloader or Flashing a rom's FTF??
unlocking bootloader.
I suggest you to start everything from the beginning,
Get all required tools, like latest flashtool, Stock 2.3.3 ftf etc.,
Flash FTF, then root your phone, install recovery. Use flashtool to install your phones drivers and flash mode drivers. Let your PC detects your phone, then try to unlock BL using BL unlock plugin in flashtool.
Post the results.
Hit THANKS, If I helped a bit

tried to flash it but it seems like my phone never gets into flashmode. (nothing happens, the phone just restarts as normally) What can i do? I've tried to install recovery and rom manager manually, and then boot into recovery from rom manager but nothing happens.
Have you installed flash mode drivers bundled with flashtool in 'Drivers' folder of flashtool?
Are you holding back button while plugging USB to phone and saw a constant 'Green' LED on?
I am sure you are not doing it in correct way, As I suggest earlier, start every thing from beginning for a better result otherwise everything will be messed up!

made some progress but dont know what to do know.
updated with SEUS and got pass the loader.sin error.
but cant still get into flashmode or install recovery.
when i hit the recovery button it only says to be implemented and then nothing happens.
it was a constant green led light when i used SEUS but now when i try it only blinks for a second and then boots into mormal mode. also when im trying to boot into recovery with xrecovery or rom manager it doesnt work either.

A good news for you is that your phones bootloader is now unlocked.
What exactly are you trying to flash ATM?
Try these steps and post the results:
*First select the kernel you want to flash (go for FeraLab GB v20 kernel) in flashtool. You need to download Feralab GB v38 ROM too. Dont forget to check final verification checkbox after selecting kernel.
*let flashtool process all pre-requisite, don't connect your phone untill flashtool asks you to. It will show an animation on how to get into flash mode.
*Connect your phone in flash mode by holding back button while pluggung USB in.
*Let flashtool to do its magic. It will take a couple of secs, then disconnect.
*Turn on and try entering CWM by continously hitting back button.
If u see CWM menu, congrates and flash ROM zip, you had downloaded!

Look bro, I am damn sure your BL in now unlock, its showing 'Bootloader status: ROOTED'
Don't confuse everything with that recovery, you need to go ahead, step by steps :/
Have you tried flashing any custom kernel yet? if not! flash any of the custom kernel for Unlocked BL available on forum. I personally suggest FeraKernel v20.

Bro, I really can't help you as now I don't have any SE or Sony device from a long time. But its seems you are having drivers problem. For that I suggest you to roll back to Windows 7, as of now Windows 8 have lots of compatibility issues with different USB devices.
CHERRY NOTE: Start everything from zero, if you are following any guide on here. My personal experience, I never failed flashing any kernel on my last two Sony devices.
GOOD LUCK FLASHING
