I just installed gapps on the JB beta 1 by kamarush and everything went smooth.Google now is awesome!
http://d-h.st/ylq
Try flashing this gapps right after you flash the ROM. (don't boot after flashing the ROM. Just flash gapps after it says installation complete.)

I did titanium backup on blackstar and it works for me. Plus its not JB. So since you aren't on JB you don't need to follow above link. I would uninstall and do it again. Did you full wipe and all that jazz before flashing blackstar?
Hope you figure it out. Post up your solution should you fix it.

How do I install correctly cyanogenmod ?
Is it so hard to read the title of the first few threads ?
Thread moved to Q & A section, consider yourself warned.
hey guys, i have 2 simle maybe stupid questions but i would really apprecciate an answer:
1. can some tell me the difference between the fxp-144a-kumquat and fxp144-kumquat; what does that "a" mean?
2. if somebody knows if cm9 for xperia u has inbuild cwm or some recovery; and if yes, what recovery?
1.144a means it is later version than 144
2.It has CWM 6

installation aborted
Hey guys. I too am getting this same "aborted" message. I will admit, I had a custom ROM installed, but then I rebooted into the backup that cwmrecovery had created from the original Samsung ROM. It was from there that I tried to install the cyanogenmod. No luck... why? I followed all the instructions...
Guys, to install CM you must have Unlocked bootloader, stock ICS, CWM installed. Put the zip into your memory, reboot in CWM and install the zip, wipe data, cash and dalvick cashe and reboot.

[Q] slimbean justunbean

ok so i have been having problems with everything force closing so i have been having to flash recently. recently every time i flash i odin and wipe internal. well today i flashed the latest official slim bean well i tried flashing regular jellybean gapps 4.2 and then justunbean inverted gapps. when i told it to reboot it went back to recovery and displayed installation aborted status 0.
Its a recovery mismatch. Also a 4.2 slimbean hasn't been released yet, use the 4.1.2 gapps from slim downloads.
Would you prefer my usual method of conflict resolution?
I thought 4.2 gapps was the gapps that has the new camera and and the swipe like keyboard. I've used it on cyanogen mod official cm10. So if its a recovery mismatch what would I need to do to fix it?

Are you running slim 4.2 that just came out?

Actually I'm not. I'm running jellybean slim 4.1. I am grateful that they've been helpful on that thread. No I haven't gotten it fixed. Ive been trying to run the justunbean mod for 4.1 and I still can't get it to work. For right now though I'm running slim inverted apps till I can figure it out.

Step #1 and step#2 is for jelly 4.2 whereas I'm running 4.1 because I'm required by my parents to have a build that's at least in beats close to bring officially. I've met had that problem with just unbean before though

[Q] Major Help with Cyanogen 10 Jellybean 4.1.2

Hey guys, i know im a noob but thats why im here. I have a Droid X2 that I installed CM 10 4.1.2 from DZK and i made the mistake of not downloading GAPPS file when I initially installed the Jellybean file and being new I didnt backup my old system GB 2.3.4 so all I have is the cm10 and when i try to install the GAPPS Zip now it says failed signature verification in the system recovery mode but the problem i think with that is that system recovery boot menu does not give me the options such as the clearing delvnik cache or advance settings so i must not be going to the correct boot screen. Guys please help and let me know what do i need to do to get google apps and if there is any alternative, thanks
Sounds like you are using Android recovery not cm7 system recovery
Think you also need
CM10 hijack-boot.zip instructions

boot into CWM recovery. wipe data, cache and dalvik cache. apply zip from sdcard. choose zip and installing..then again choose zip from sdcard and select gapps.zip. is this the procedure you are following? I do the same everytime and faced no problems till now. you ahould have the gapps.zip of the respective rom you flash prior to it.

what recovery?
Thats exactly what I've been doing!
I've just tried cm-10.1-20130522-NIGHTLY-i9300.zip
with CM 10.1 Gapps
booted into CWR
cleared the 3 catches
installed CM10.1
install Gapps
cleared 3 catchs again
....zero Gapps

after flashing rom, just flash gapps and there's no need to wipe anything before or after flashing gapps. just reboot.

sorry for the n00b like manor
that is a .tar file buddy. You can't flash it thriugh recovery. you have to put your mobile into download mode , connect to pc via uab. start desktop odin, select pda and then CWMtouch.tar file and hit start. then once you see the pass, it is done.
