Hello,
I am kinda new to installing custom ROMs and all, but after going through a lot of guides here, i finally managed to unlock BL, root my phone and install night-elf kernel and the Xperia Pureness ROM. Everything works like a charm, the only problem is the wi-fi. Cant connect to my modem at all. Heres whats i did:
1. Rooted phone a few months back(locked BL then).
2. Unlocked BL now.
3. Did a nandroid backup
4. Installed Night-Elf's kernel the one recommended in the Xperia Pureness thread
5. Installed Xperial Pureness Rom and NXT files as per the instructions
6. Reboot.
Now having problems with wi-fi. Erm so is this a bug with the ROM or did i do something wrong along the way? Thank you for the awesome ROM fyi
Did you wipe all the stuff in CWM?
Sent from my Xperia Neo V using Tapatalk 2
yes, i did. Followed as per the instructions and wiped/formatted in the order mentioned.
So guys, should i just reinstall to fix the wi-fi problem or is there any solution for it??
I think yes!
You should flash a clean 4.0.4 firmware using flashtool..
Install the appropriate kernel for it!
Boot into CWM.. Factory reset, wipe cache partition, wipe dalvik cache..
And then install the ROM.

Dont, i have to root to install CWM??
So, i should install a clean 4.0.4 firmware, stock kernel-->root it-->install cwm->install night-elf kernel-->install Xperia pureness. That's about it??

No problem for me.
Hey, what build are you using?
I have no problems with build 8 and 7 now.
Did you Factory Reset, wipe data, wipe cache and wipe dalvik cache in CWM?
If not, try reinstalling it. I had this problem too.
I am using the latest build, build 8.
Took me little over an hour, but i finally did it!!
Installed clean 4.0.4 firmware, clean stock kernel --> rooted --> installed cwm --> installed night-elf kernel --> factory reset and all wiping --> then installed the ROM.
Now my wifi works perfectly. Bit annoying that i have to install all of my apps again but kinda fun too
Thanks everyone for helping me out and special thanks to ThilinaC for the awesome ROM, especially loved the walkman app.

Did you wipe cache, user data and dalvik cache?
If you are coming from CM i suggest you to flash a stock rom with stock kernel and boot the phone. after successfully doing it, then you can try to flash hybrom v11
besides, it is good to ask this from boof (the creator) in the hybrom thread
Hi, I have a st15i 4.0.2.A.0.42 with stock firmware.
My system is rooted, bootloader unlock.
How do I install this ROM?
I must first upgrade to build 062?
If so, how do I build on the root 062?

Hi,

Hi mate.
Did you flash the boot.img first and then the rom?
No offence but your description of how the error occurred needs a bit more information. Give us more details over what you have done and in what steps, and then I'm sure we can help you.

First time I flashed my phone it didnt work proper.
So I flashed the boot.img again and then updated with the update.zip (after resetting everything ) in the phone a second time and then it worked.

Please go to advance edition and change the title of the thread, at least it can help to other with similar issue.
Also please read the forum rules before post next time, specially #3. Thanks
I think this is more our fault as we don't specify the need for unlocked boot loader in our thread
I just wish they would use pm service instead of loads of new threads
And yes naming thread hellllllllppppppppp is just daft

I flashed this rom several times but without success. I followed the thread guide: stock ics firmware, then advance ics kernel, flashed SSped firmware zip from cwm, then the SSped Kernel... I also tried with wipe dalvink chace and factory reset before and after flash.
The phone starts normally but is unusable. I have many errors saying: unfortunately, "app.name" has stopped working,,,,
Thanks for the help!
GImiki
I have been having this too , try the kaSSpeed rom v10 , i found it more stable
Thanks for the info. It is based on ICS? It is better than cyano 9 and stock rom?

Hello,
My friend has a Sony Xperia P and a few weeks ago he flashed the MIUI custom ROM from here. A few days ago, though, he wanted to try something different but he can't seem to flash anything other than MIUI.
He's tried new kernels, ROMs, all while making a full wipe but when he reboots the MIUI bootscreen pops up and it stays there. He then flashes MIUI again and lo and behold, it boots into MIUI.
He doesn't know what's wrong with the device (neither do I, having experience with flashing firmware for both a HTC Desire S and Samsung Galaxy Note) so any help is welcome!
I think you need to flash stock firmware then install new rom

Phone : Xperia U
Rom : Stock ICS modded
Kernel : stock
Bootloader : Unlocked ( thank god)
1) try fastbooting custom kernel then
2) go in recovery do a complete wipe & factory reset ,cache wipe, delvik cache wipe
3);then flash desired from and wipe it all again!!!
If above dun work clean install I mean go back to stock let it boot then repeat from point 1

Hi, its my first (time) thread, so be gentle
This are a debranded STOCK ISC for Xperia U, so only the branding is removed, everything else is there.
They are rom.zip preroted, with cwm included and cwm flashable.
For all bootloders.
Code:
Im not responsible if you brick your phone, and if you do.. ITS YOUR FAULT
Instructions:
Put the zip on you sd-card , boot in to cwm, do all the wipes, install the zip, reboot, DONE!
You can (should) do a factory reset after a couple of (10-15)minutes , let it settle first.

@pirej, i was waiting for this, thanks!
could you maybe provide a list of system apps that are safe to uninstall with the description of their functions - something like the list for sola in general thread? It would be useful sometimes while debloating the system .
Cheers and have a calm sleep
@Kumczak check the super mode

There is no problem with the link..
I try to download and i downloaded 28% in 1-2 minutes
i could download it without any issue.
installed it , reboot it , used it for a while.
it's quite fast, stable.
yet, i couldn't make google play work. it worked for a little time, then when it asked to be upgraded (hangouts thing), it wasn't loading anything, a bunch of server errors, etc.
went back to my old backup. if i had some more time, i would try harder.
anyway, thanks for the convenience
OK download.......

Your debranded .89 fw still has your son andrej in the wallpapers
Hahaha , never mind .. i guess people will download the .100 version , not the .89, i just put it there to have them in one place.
The v.89 was made from a backup of an working MY installation, then cleaned up... 99% obviously
And the v.100 is made from extracted system files from the ftf, so its 100% clean , i just debranded it, and i added root and cwm to it, so.. no pictures there
I'm interested in installing .100, can I do so on a custom ROM? I mean, I'm using eXperience v2.1, based on .54 firmware. I already got CWM etc. Can I install .100 directly via CWM or shoud I reinstall .54 stock first, root, cwm and then .100?

Just wipe everything and flash . My way of flashing was: factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, format/system, then flash the ROM.
Cheers
@pirej, there is still a EA app in your ROM. Isn't it a bit of branding?
Cheers
This is the rom my wife wanted. Thanks!
