There are 3 type of Processor such as Exynos, Orion and Tegra2. And based on the region.
Malaysia is selling (Orion)
How about your country?
how can I tell my s2 is which cpu ?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
if i am correct the orion is the hummingbird used in all samsung galaxy android devices apart from the samsung galaxy s2 which uses the exynos chip and the tegra2 chip will be used for country with emerging markets in the near future e.g. south africa or india or russia
I'm interested to buy Galaxy S2 with Tegra2 Processor.
Orion was the codename for the Exynos processor.
Exynos > Tegra 2
You'll know you have an Exynos CPU if your benchmarks results are amazing.
yes, my s2 speed is super. stock rom with quad tested. ~3000. 3 times faster then my x10.

Whats the difference spec wise between a evo3d and the new gs2 skyrocket? The skyrocket has been labled as having a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 APQ8060
dual-core processor. Isnt that close to the evo3ds 1.5ghz (uc) snapdragon 8660? Both having 1gb of ram.
Edit- evo3d is S2 and gs2 is S3. Is that a big deal?

From all I've read and seen, the 1.5 on the skyrocket is the same as ours. And all benchmarks I've seen comparing the SGS2 for ATT and the skyrocket, the original one every time with its 1.2ghz. It uses a better processesor. Other then that, it has a slightly bigger screen, and, well, that's it. To be simple with it

I dont really think samsung would downgrade thier processora on a newer phone...

The SGS2 has a 1.2GHz Exynos dual-core CPU where the Skyrocket has a 1.5GHz Snapdragon dual-core CPU.

The APQ8060 is the same as the 8660 except it is has the modem removed. This was necesary as it needed LTE.
Also 8660 is S3 and both have adreno 220.

Look at S3 chipsets.

The S3 T999 which has 2gb of RAM has only dual cores not quad so good luck.
tnx
so not a chance 2 get both 2GB ram and 1.4 quad anywhere??
the most importent thing 2 me is that it will be the regular int. v.
BTW
if u can recommend on good price that will be gr8
International version has 1gb so no, you won't be able to get it with 2

Only the Korean version has 2GB + 4core (as discussed in several threads),
but it will most certainly not work very well on our networks (3G-only)
So... no luck.
By the way, I don't recommend to buy sgs3, if RAM is important for you. Because it's always run out of memory of you use many applications.
Try to wait new models to come (neither samsung or HTC)

Yep korean version has 2gb ram and quadcore. but they dont have sim slots.
Have you actually checked or are you repeating other people's guesses?
I've read both affirmation and negation with good arguments so I'm unsure of either.

So who do you recommend? Samsung and HTC being the 2 most prominent Android phone suppliers and as such having the largest R&D department there are not many others that can outsmart them in the high-end market.
If you want a large screen, lots of RAM and real multitasking get a freaking Netbook. Or wait for the Note2
the korean version of s3 says to have 2gb ram and also still have the quad core exynos 4412 chip. while the international just have 1gb of ram.
but what is the other differences of the two actually? because i've been searching the net and some articles says that it has 2gb ram and just have dual core dragon chipset. and what are the advantage of korean and international version?
because i live in philippines so maybe there are some things that aren't working on korean version here in my place.
thanks in advance!

nah, i don't like it. because it's too big. i prefer the size of s3.
bump!?
The advantage of the Korean would definitely be the 2GB of ram, but the downside would be the lack of development for it, i dont think that international roms will be compatible

Well after a while of searching it seems this is the model number " SHV-E210K" it has 4G,2GB of RAM and quad core, although it is allegedly slightly thicker than gt-i9300. Something else to consider is that the 4G radio probably won't work in the US.

I purchsed both versions of the Galaxy Mega, the i9200 with a Snapdragon 1.7 and an i9205 with the Exynos 1.7. The i9205 Exynos version runs noticeably smoother and less glitchy than the Snapdragon version. Anyone considering buying this device, do yourself a favor and get the Exynos model. Other than the memory difference 8 vs 16, and one being a UK version (i9200 ordered from Newegg) and the other a model shipped from Hong Kong (i9205 ordered from Negri Electronics) and the regional rom differences, I can only imagine that it's the differences in the processor and core types making the performance difference from one Mega to the other. I used the Snapdragon model for a week before receiving the Exynos version. The differences are night and day.

I typically use Quadrant Standard. Do you have a preference on the benchmark tool used? I ran Quadrant on both devices yesterday and both Mega's provided very similar results on Quadrant.

Tried looking for the exynos Mega 6.3 online and I can't seem to find it anywhere. Care to post the results of Antutu with system information on both Mega?
For me I'm done with Exynos smartphones..
I had GS2, Note 1, Note 2 and all of them after 4 - 6 months they start to hang stutter.. Even factory reset won't solve the lag problem,
On the other hand I had GS2 - i9100G with TI SOC and it's far better than 9100 with Exynos SOC
I'm very sensitive to Lags and stuttering I hate that !!
That's why I bought Galaxy Mega with Qualcomm SOC.. I hope it won't start lagging in next coming months..
That's my opinion ..
Is there a different root method for the Exynos version or it's the same with the Snapdragon method? Having lots of variation makes it hard to develop for and we already have the i9200 and the i9205 Mega 6.3. I think more will support the Snapdragon version as more people use it.

Don't confuse people. AFAIK, there is NO Exynos version of Mega 6.3. Initially there was a lot of information about the i9200 version running Exynos and the i9205 (LTE) version running Snapdragon (not the other way around), because Exynos doesn't support LTE, but i think this plan was later dropped because Samsung is experiencing shortages with their Exynos processors. I've compared both version that are sold in Europe and they all run on Snapdragon 400 1.7Ghz and Adreno 305.

I've checked with owners of the LTE version i9205 in Singapore, and it's running Qualcomm SOC based on cpu-z. How did you conclude that your i9205 is running Exynos?

According to Negri Electronics website, where my i9205 LTE was ordered from (the much faster Mega) , states that it's an Exynos 5250, A15 core, Mali 400gpu. The i9200 was ordered from Newegg and they state that that version is Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 Chipset, Adreno 305 GPU.
Sent from my GT-I9205 using xda premium
It doesn't matter what they say, their information is wrong. There is NO model of Mega with Exynos. You can easily check it yourself. In any case, originally the i9200 model, not the i9205 was going to have Exynos, because Exynos doesn't support LTE. I was going to get the Exynos-based i9200 model, but then i discovered that they both have the same chip - MSM8930, which is Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 + Adreno 305.
Why not post pics of the said Exynos Mega 6.3 showing system information? Also, can you give us the link where you ordered it?
There are plenty of retailers here in europe who list the wrong specs for the non-LTE version of the SGM 6.3 to.
This is because they take these specs from the early reports, in which such specs were listed.
I participate in another local forum, where many people have both versions of the device and they all have the same specs.
I mean, you can even take a kernel from one model and flash it into another and it'll work, if they had different SOCs, this would lead to a brick, AFAIK.
So his experience was just placebo thinking the 'Exynos' Mega was faster and saying the difference was 'night and day'.
There are lots of apps in the Play store he could use to check the system information and post it here for all to see.
Is this that big @$$ Samsung? 6.3 or whatever?

It just got me curious. Anyway, he's gone quiet so we'll just leave it at that.
Ok... So the processors are identical as you can see by the screen shots. The Negri website is infact stating inaccurate specifications of the 9205 Mega model. Now I am wondering why the i9205 runs so much better than the i9200. I suppose that it is the different versions of the Roms that each are loaded with. Each phone is loaded the same, same apps installed etc.
Anyways I apologize for jumping the gun on stating that one had the Exynos processor. I was only using the detailed specs listed on the website where I purchased it. The 9205 certainly does run better over the 9200 model and I have no explanation as to why. :banghead:

Some people report problems/lag/fcs with their devices others don't have. Why? In some cases there's a logical explanation in others there isn't, but there's always a reason. It does sound like if there's something fishy with your i9200.

I love my 9205... 9200 not so much. I am using Swiftkey and like it better than the stock keyboard. Another thing that bothers me a little with the Mega is that the Camera just doesn't seem as good as my Note 2 was. It just isn't as fast. I seem to capture more blurred pictures with the Mega over the Note2. I can deal with the 9205 until the new Note 3 comes out. It's a solid device. Love the screen size!
