My wifi appears to be going gray but, instead of being unable to browse the internet like most of the threads I've seen here regarding gray wifi icon, I can actually do internet-related things quite fine. I am just curious as to why it is turning gray. Any thoughts?
I'm using the MiniCMSandwich Lite rom.

It's usually like that when it's: just connecting, no sync is enabled, after a period of time it just changes, or there is a problem in the rom.

it only does it after some uncertain occasions.. i'm quite sure the rom is fine (no swapped resource images, etc.) just something peculiar i noticed...

In ICS and later, it just means that you are connected to WiFi but there is no transfer happening. Open a browser page and it will turn blue because there is data transfer happening

Okay, thanks! I initially thought the blue icon was always gonna show as long as I have internet access. Didn't know it had something to do with data being transferred. I think I read somewhere that when data is being downloaded, there is a small down arrow on the wifi icon and when something is being uploaded, an up arrow. So when they both are active (download and upload), there' something like a diamond sign on the wifi icon.

Well ever since i gotten my gtablet last week ive had problems maintaining a stable wifi connection, well i installed a patch i found that patched the ztab drivers over.
forum.tegratab.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=9
and now i cant even connect to a network no more is there anywhere i can find the original drivers for the g tablet wifi and patch them back over?
It happend to me and I solve it by installing the stock firmware from here. Of course you will loose everthing you have installed, so you might need to back up.
i did that, and now it can read the networks and connect, but im back to where i started where it says connected, and i will have connectivity for a minute or two, and lose connectivity, but it will still say connected, im starting to think this is a hardware problem..
Also, i go into the Engineering menu (*#*#4364#*#*) Go to wifi information, then WiFi status, and when the wifi is connected and working, it will display a decent link speed, but when the internet stops working, but is still connected, it says a link speed of 1MBps... so what is that telling you? ps. im standing 2 feet from my router and have Full Bars....
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! I fixed it!!!!!! i think this fix whould be a sticky for thise who are having issues of wifi dropping, whick i know alot are!! well i cracked open the tab, and noticed the wifi antenna on how crappy the thing looked.... so i decided my laptop has 2 wifi antennas, what if i rip one out and put it in my gtab... well i went ahead and did so, after noticing the connectors between my laptop and gtab are exactly the same.. and VIOLA!! been connected to my wifi for over an hour without any drops or disconnects... i have attatched an image of how it looks...

Whenever my phone switches to roaming on V I get this notification that my data connectivity was lost, even if I'm connected to WiFi. When I return to Sprint the message persists, i.e. it doesn't go away until I clear it.
Q: Can I disable this message somehow? It's friggin' annoying to have that little triangle in my notification area every 10 minutes (I don't get Sprint signal in my office, there is a V tower on the building literally next door).

I was trying to figure this out myself. I don't see anywhere in settings for us to turn it off though.
I also find this notification annoying.
And searched without any luck.

I too would be interested in learning how to disable this annoying 'feature'.
Thanks

When I'm in wifi the download arrow is constantly blinking. On for a sec then off. I don't have any push accounts. When on just 3g it doesn't do that at all, no data transfered unless I open a app or so something. It's murdering battery constantly connecting. I downloaded network traffic to try and see what is usually the data but it just shows "system". Using "system pannel". The data transfers are only at a few KB/s speeds so it's not large data files.
I've tried force closing all apps and it doesn't do anything. I have downloaded no apps that need constant sync. Gmail sync is stopped.

Do you use YouTube and do you have pre loading option on?

Cool I didn't even know that existed. But no, that option is unchecked.
I'll do a factory reset if needed but I don't it to come to that.
The data speeds are miniscule so it's like some odd transfer or authentication.

Now that you mention it, mine seems to be downloading quite a bit on Wi-Fi as well. My battery life is pretty good and it doesn't seem to be hurting anything. So I'm not worried about it. But just wanted to let you know mine does that too when I'm on Wi-Fi.

So a day or two ago Google Services randomly ate up a huge amount of my data. And all within about a second. I really can't figure out why it happened. I was going to see a movie so I turned off my phone, and when I turned it back on, I got a data usage warning and after checking my settings it shows this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Umm... what?! Even with Onavo Extend, Google Services somehow consumed a big chunk on my data, all in about a second:
Can someone please explain this?
Thanks in advance!
Bump.
The images aren't showing up, but I would guess that there's something wrong with the report. Data use will be limited by the connection speed, so in any 1 second a mobile device can't upload or download much data at all, even on the fastest connections.

Hmm, I wonder why the images aren't working.
And that's what I'm confused about... the data usage is just too much and too sudden. The only possible explanation I could have for that would be it was trying to use data when I had my phone off or something, but that doesn't really make any sense.
The thing is, I got a message from T-Mobile about my usage AND that's what it shows in my settings, so it can't be that both data tracking services aren't correct.

Hi everyone!
I just got my V60 but there is a wierd icon on top bar. Maybe it's important - i've migrated whole data from G7.
Tried everything, Wi-Fi calling is off but this icon still appears. Anyone?

Wifi calling possibly? I'm sure it's something in your call settings that you have turned on.

Ah... I didn't mention which one. Yes, this phone icon, and bless for you help! I didn't considered "avilible" insted of "on"
That's odd. I don't have the phone icon on mine, and I bought it straight from AT&T, so I should have VoLTE or WiFi Calling or whatever its called available...
I do have WiFi Calling toggled on in Settings / Network & Internet.
