I called Sprint today to see if anyone knew when Sprint was going to start releasing ICS to our EVO 3D phone and the guy told me it has already started as of this week, but I have not seen anything on XDA or when I Google it. I could have bad info, so I apologize in advance if I am wrong, I am just posting what the Sprint rep told me. Has anyone received the prompt for ICS yet?
Rule of thumb, don't ever trust anything a rep making 10 dollars an hour tells you. They will lie and tell you ANYTHING to keep you happy.

I think you misunderstand. Nobody is flaming you. They are flaming Sprint. "Early 2012" changed to "June/July" changed to "early August", so people are jaded at this point, especially with the news that ICS on the Desire HD was cancelled (http://www.brightsideofnews.com/new...-update-for-desire-hd2c-angers-community.aspx). Have been holding off upgrading my Evo 4G for either a 3D or the new GSII. Now that the GSII is coming, it's looking much more attractive. But I want custom ROMs and an impressed with the progress of the 3D ROM community.

Many Epic devs are going onto the Epic 4G Touch to develop (including myself). The normal Epic's development is roughly a 3rd of the EVO 4G. It's growing, but development will be a lot higher here than there.

I mean I could see it with the new Evo coming out soon. I think we'd see a leak and not the official for a little while or just get the OTA. I mean with the need Evo coming out, devs could use that to port to over to the 3D and it should have working 4g right? Unless the new evo JUST runs LTE.

a leak is doubtful at this point....when is the last time the 3D saw a leak for any of its OTA's its gotten before hand?......
The new EVO will run LTE only and being a completely different chipset and hardware top to bottom will give the devs here very little help in anything for the 3D...

Haha yeah...to be honest the sprint exec saying lte phones won't show up till late 3rd qtr early 4th really was my basis for my bet...June release for the new EVO throws a link in the plans...
Just hope Sprint takes note from ATT and not delay an OTA just because a device is being released...

Meh, I say the 3d is not going to get ICS OTA because Sprint hasn't even put out their ICS phones. Why would they OTA it when they need to push the new products? They are in fact a company in it for the money, OTA ICS would not make sense (har har) as far as a sales standpoint, why let the consumers have they new stuff for free when you want to push the latest and greatest phone you have to offer?
I could be terribly wrong as well, a leak sure why not but I have no faith in an OTA from Sprint. Hell today's event could be the release of the Kyocera Echo 2 now with dual cores!!!! (seriously that would suck though)
Has anyone in the Triangle area of North Carolina received the ICS update yet for their Razr or Razr Maxx? I am still waiting. System Update keeps telling me no updates at this time.
I wish there was a way to trigger it. Not interested in necessarily loading it on my own.

First at all, I were holding the first Android device, and I think android is more better and useful oc than ios.
So, yes... Still waiting... Since 2011, and I really desperate waiting to this update... I'm like, visiting xda every day just to know if it's out yet.
If it would take more couple of days, I would hate android and ios forever, and I would like to revenge Motorola...
They sacked my soul, and filed it with a lot of disappoints..

Keep in mind that they aren't contractually obligated to provide an upgrade for any phone. They're doing it out of the kindness of their hearts (mainly to keep phones selling). What you paid for was a Gingerbread device, what you hoped for was an upgrade. You will get it, fortunately enough, but they never did specify when other than extremely vaguely

The only reason I can't wait for ICS to OTA is so threads and discussions like these can stop cluttering up the entire internet.
nothing here in the Louisville, KY market yet on the wife's Maxx...not even a notice....I have been checking for updates on it once daily with no results from that or power cycles....guess it will happen eventually....I think the wife thinks I am making **** up.....I told her it was coming days ago and now she's like ....uh huh.....

Posts like this don't help the community. Devs have full time jobs and do this for fun. If you want to speed things up chip in to help.
Cm10 is in the works from multiple developers as well as multiple people working on custom kernels.

Developement for this device hasnt came to full swing yet, hell wejust got root a while back and s-off a few weeks ago. As fsr ad i know we havent gotten full kernel source yet. Be patient, the forum is still young. A little more time and you wont know what to flash next...

I'm genuinely curious - what exactly are you hoping to see here? I just took a look at their dev section. They have like 5 or 6 roms, and just a few mods. we have 10+ roms and more mods. Can you describe some of the "awesome stuff" that you think we're missing out on? Are you talking about JB and CM?
