[Q] Secret code not working. Please help!!! - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys. I want to find out the pda version (by dialing *#1234#), but nothing happens. The code doesn't work for me, nor other codes. I searched for a bit but couldn't find anything. I'm on RootBox 1.7. Can anyone help me? Thank you in advance.

Dialer codes don't work on AOSP/AOKP ROMs... which RootBox is one of. (They also don't have a PDA version, per se)

almost any *# codes doesn't work in AOKP roms.
what are u trying to get? modem?

No, I'm trying to get the PDA version, because I want to install JKay deluxe framework. Is there another way to find it out? And if this rom doesn't have a PDA version, how ca I install Jkay framework? Because I should download the version that matches my PDA.

I don't think you can use JKay on AOKP or AOSP. I think you can only use JKay on Samsung based firmwares and ROMs.

If you can't use it on a custom rom, why is there an option to download a deodexed version for custom roms? (it is clearly specified that it is for custom roms)

Custom ROM doesn't mean it isn't based on a Samsung firmware. There are a ton of custom ROMs based on Samsung stock.

Yeah, I didn't think of that. I just realised it. Thank you!

Sorry for digged this thread, but I need to know can I use this code *2767*3855# with CM/AOSP/AOKP rom? like rootbox rom? because i'm warry about tel iframe secret code exploit to format my device

But that's ok I think It won't work. Thanks.

*# codes not working on custom rom, i need to reset my wifi by *#*#526#*#* or any other solution?

[Q] Bell Galaxy S2 stock kernel?

Hello fellow Bell Galaxy s2 users,
I read tons of posts that said the stock kernel for our Galaxy s2 is not available to download from Samsung server. However, if you go to https://opensource.samsung.com/ and search I9100M, there is one file available for download.
Now, I don't know whether this is the kernel or something else entirely...... could somebody verify what this file could be?
Cheers,
I believe that file is the source code for our firmware. Unfortunately we cant just flash it to our phones. I'm not an expert on this but I think that it still needs to be compiled.
can't someone compile it then and post it? How hard can it be? or is there bigger problems than that?
Yes. I agree, please compile this! I really would love to have a flashable stock rom for my GT-I9100M.

[Q] Newbie --India --Three Network mobile -- Basic Questions

Hi All,
I bought a used galaxy S2 I9100 yesterday, new to android.I have been a iphone user for 4 years and pretty aware of jailbreaking, unlocking installing custom firmwares. the terminology here in Android world is different though.
Have searched and read through different guides on the forum but still got some questions.
Model GT i900 LKAH3G
PDA i9100XWKE1
CSC I9100H3GKD4
Kernel 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKDD-CL161513 [email protected] # 2
Build Number GINGERBREAD.XWKE1
Looks like it was on Three network but it is unlocked mobile as i can use my airtel sim on the phone.
I dont want the Three network related stuff on the phone so i need to debrand the phone -- how to do it? there is guide on XDA forum but it talks primarily for O2 phones or might be i did not read it correctly. (there are also some options like the network mode which are disabled on this ROM )
Once debranding is done should i be ok to use any ROM or kernel?
Which would be best ROM to be installed and will it work for me in India.
Can i install the custom ROM and would i be able to install apps from the android Market.
If these have already been answered , can you please provide the link for that thread.
Thank You
I'd advice you to try the new ics roms, you can find the instructions inside the various rom threads, flashing these roms will get rid of the three junk as well as update your phone to the latest android os a.k.a ICS ..........
there is no such thing as a best rom for a specific country, but you can try different modems to find the one that gives you the best network and battery, you can find your modem under the baseband in about phone....
google for more info
happy flashing and welcome to Android we luf you here...........
Learn how to use Odin
Download stock gb from from checkfus or sammobile.
Flash using Odin, you will be unbranded.
After that root using cfroot, now learn how to use cfroot.
Now you can flash custom roms.

Hi KJplasma &atifsh
Thank you for the details.
can i install the below listed indian stock firmware using odin
PDA :I9100XWKE8 CSC:I9100ODDKE2
or do i need to install the firmware from UK
PDA :I9100XXKF2 CSC:MULTIOXAKF2
do i need to change the csc if i install the UK version?
Thanks
forget about csc.
if you have i9100 you can flash any region ROM and use in any country.
if you want Gb than go for la2 italy rom , iv used that and last time i check that was the fastest stock rom for GB
you can also flash ICS rom like uk lp7 too, just stay away from lp9 roms at the moment.
ad dont forget to wipe using the dialpad code *2767*3855#. [will wipe all data stored]

My friend dont go for LPJ that is unofficial beta release,
go for anything above LPQ on the sammobile firmware list ...
or pick anyone from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1544487.
Thank you Zac and Atif.
I have tried to do a factory rest from the phone's privacy menu but even after everything is done, istill see some files in the gallery.
i tried the code *2767*3855# everything goes fine but i see the message "cant access to system\csc\h3g\system\" and then the phone strats as normal.
can i flash it to the OS even if i am getting this message using odin or do i need to
do something before i flash?
factory reset will not delete your user stored data on the SD card...that can be manually deleted...if you want
you can flash the OS from ODIN
thanks for the responses.
I have upgraded to I9100XWLP7_I9100XEULP, and its working fine. the only problem seems to be its heating a bit where the camera is located . will read more topics and see why this is happening.
thank You.

Yes though the newer dxlp9 was much better, previous one had bunch of issues including sleep of death.
Also that ROM introduces the contact/dialer lag bug. Which some how got to Google account and now every time I sync contacts it get back.
I deleted all my contacts and synced again and it's all better, tried on dxlp9 and was working fine, than I switched to my regular cm9.

For a start, if you remember your last ROM that doesn't had heat issues, flash that modem. Doesn't matter if you use GB modem on ics.
I flashed the modem of my region xxki4 which is 2.3.5 jpkj2 and had no issues of heat in ics.

First of all: it's 'rooted', not 'rotted'
Some roms come with a new modem, so if you want to change it, you can flash it through Recovery. Some others don't, but you can check it of course in Settings -> About phone.
About your request for a JB rom: even if you're from NZ, you still have to try them for yourself to see which rom perfectly matches your preferences.

Official Stock 4.1.2 Firmware for i9100?

Hi All,
Forgive me, I'm new to the i9100 (well, actually its a mates one). As I have the N7000, which is a similar device...
My mate wants this phone to return fully to stock, with no root... Which is fine, and could just go to SammyMobile, whatever that site is... However I select this, and go through the links... and get nothing..
Ideally I'm looking for a firmware with the following...
1) Latest official stock JellyBean (4.1.2)
2) Non Rooted
3) UK or Generic based
4) Non OEM branded
5) No CSC (whatever that is, Country Code thingie).
I believe Carphone Warehouse are the best ones to get, as they are not OEM branded, and generic... But can't find any valid file hosts stocking it, other than a RapidGator, which keeps telling me Captcha code invalid...???
Thanks, Lister

I have applied it but still dont get the CSC, just says 'Unknown'.
I will re apply it again and see how it goes.
Still a no go on the CSC, strange I am not getting any. Never had this issue before. Any ideas lads?
I have search the around and found thread on here, but all links are removed for the CSC files.
** I have got it working ,managed in to install CWM recovery and formatted all drivers /Data etc...
Then used Odin again and installed this 4.1.2. LSD build and I have a CSC and can use Kies now.

You don't understand, it would be smarter to go ahead and download the stock firmware and keep a copy of it so you will have it in the future if you ever need to restore the device. Then just extract a copy of build.prop from the firmware and use that.
If you don't have a copy of the stock firmware and just want to be lazy about it and ask for a copy of build.prop from someone else then I suggest you get the stock firmware and do it for yourself because there is no guarantee how much longer the stock firmware will be available to the public, if you have problems later and the firmware isn't available then what would you do? You wouldn't be able to fix your device because there is no guarantee that you'll find someone in this community to get a copy from. Be smart, just download the firmware.

If you're using a custom ROM then the stock buid.prop won't work for you, you need the build.prop from the ROM you're using.
Plus, if your device ever messes up and won't boot system and won't boot to recovery then you'll need the stock firmware to flash in Odin because you won't be able to reinstall your custom ROM. Trust me, if you ever have problems you'll wish you had listened to me.
Why are you resisting? Is it gonna kill you to download the firmware abd extract the build.prop? If you had done that when I first replied to you then you'd already have your device fixed by now, but no, you want to be he stubborn and drag it out longer.

That's what I was wondering, lol. I can't think of any reason they'd need it if they don't have the device. From what I've seen so far, they don't know how things work with android, especially when they are asking for build.prop for a device they don't have and aren't even familiar with the stock firmwares it has.
