[Q] Xperia P Misc folder - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

OK, 2 days ago I bought this phone, its fantastic. I installed couple of Apps and Games. When I connected to the PC I saw that only 2 GB are free of 11GB. I checked all folders if anyone is big, but all of them were less than 10 MB only the gameloft and music which were only 1.5-2GB. I Installed MIUI File Manager and I saw that Misc folder is 5.6 GB big. Can anyone tell me how and is it safe to delete that folder without doing factory reset. The phone isnt rooted. I also attached a screenshot. Hopefully someone will solve this problem

It's not a folder, rather a meta-folder just like Music and such in which MIUI file manager shows everything that doesn't fall into other categories. To find what's really using the space try a different tool, there are many

Useless folders

Hello,
After using my SGS during several month, installing and uninstalling many apps, I noticed that my sdcard folder start to be a BIG mess, with a LOT of folders totally useless.
The problem is, i can't see which folder are still in use by my installed apps and which one are no use anymore.
Is there any way/apps to find them and delet them ?
Thanks

Strange problem with internal memory filling up without reason.

My mate has a I9100. All firmware is latest Nordic stock, it has never been rootet, never flashed with any firmware or anything.
The available internal memory of the device gets slowly filled up without reason. We don't know why, but we expect it to have something to do with charging. Every night he charges the device and every morning there's a little less internal memory available.
The other night my friend set it to charge, and when he disabled the charger, only 75 MB of internal memory remained. He has no where near that amount of apps installed to only leave such a small amount of available memory.
This has happened about four times before, and every time a factory reset is needed.
Have any of you heard about this bug before, and do any of you know how to remedy this issue?
I'm thinking about doing a full factory reset and install latest Nordic stock ROM via Odin but I'm open for suggestions.

I will do that. You think that file could take up several hundred megabytes?

i dont think its related to charging he must be having an app which may be increasing storage by saving logs ,some temperory file high amounts of cache memory sort of etc,or loads of apps installed may increase app data + cache to a huge extent for example whatsapp is only about 13 MB but after using it for some months it is now 50MB!...BY THE WAY how much memory is eateN?factory reset and reflashing may help ...does his phone have virus?
I have the same problem!
I've already made factory reset, and also deleted some useless files in the "log" (about 500 files of 50kb each)... but the problem remains. I checked in my computer and in the internal memory of my phone there's 0kb available!! How and why is this happening? There's always a message that says "Full internal memory".
I've searched in this forum if there's something similar to a factory reset for root users that let the internal memory as the default usage... I mean, there are a lot of internal folders of apps that were already deleted last year and I don't know why are they still in the internal memory...
I hope someone have some answers and I already thanks everyone for reading this!
Memory filling up on S ll
Hi,
I am not on this forum often but I found a way to regain memory and get rid of the 'Storage space running out' if this helps.
Right click on the storage space item on the taskbar and select 'App info' then when the android media app details open -force close (I ignore warning about knock on effects.
Even if you didn't get the 'storage space running out' but your internal storage is showing as just a few Mb's - open FX file explorer and make sure that - 'show hidden files' is shown.
Open Main storage and open each folder in turn. Scroll down and look for 'Nomedia' file and delete from any folder that contains it.
Do the same with Media card and sometimes in System folder as well ( although most are 'access denied' on non rooted phone)
I read that the Nomedia file is incompatible with some of the later rom updates. Restart your phone and check your internal storage - hopefully you will see that the memory is restored. But this works for me. Repeat this as necessary.
Best regards and I hope this helps.

[Q] Help with Internal storage

hey there.
im new here, so i hope i havent done anything wrong...
i own a i9100 running CM 10.1.3 android ver. 4.2.2, rooted.
every once in a while the phone freeze, and i need to restart it manually, but im ok with that..
now, last week i had an alert says internal storage is low.. and so some stuff wont work.
so i deleted few apps until it was fine, and stopped the auto update for all apps.
and yet today i got this annoying alert again. so i was assuming that there is something growing there under the hood..
I downloaded this "storage Analyzer" and i appears that "/data/log" is over 1 GB and it filled with thousands of small log files, about 1 MB each.
so i guess i found that growing thing.. but i cant get to it... nevertheless get rid of it...
I would appreciate some advice that not including connecting the phone to the PC, Although if necessary I will do so..
Thanks!!
Hey.
I solve the broblem by erasing the files using "Root Browser".
The app have the permmision to delete on system partition.
So in matter of speaking I cracked it.
Although I don't know what created those "log" files..
Is there to know which app created those files??

Hey,
I solve the problem using the ADB Shell commands and the phone root privileges using my pc.
I deleted the content of "/data/log" using "rm -r /data/log" , there was hundreds of .log files each about 2 MB which used 1.8 gigs of the internal memory of the phone.
it was very frustrating process, but hey.. i did it..

(HELP) 5GB of system after flashing a ROM (N7505)

Hello everyone, the other day I decided, after 3 years of stock ROM (5.1.1), to change ROM on my Note 3 Neo (N7505). I installed TWRP, I downloaded a build of Lineage 14.1 and installed it. But stupidly I didn't read the list of things that don't work, such as the camera and the dial app. So I decided to return temporarily to the stock ROM. Later I found a Cyanogen build compatible with my N7505 without any particular problems, so I installed it. No problems here. But when i had a glance at the "memory" section of the settings, I found that the space occupied by the system was equal to 4.6 GB. A little unusual. Using the ES file manager I found two folders, a /system that weighs 400 mega (probably the one where is Cyanogen) and a /sys with 4 GB (with inside 200.000 files and 60.000 subfolders!). I think the problem is the folder /sys, probably when I changed rom I didn't wiped something, and there are still the files of the Lineage and the stock, stored in this folder. Now I have 4 gigabytes of useless files, and what I would like to do is delete everything and then install the cyanogen. But among the TWRP wipes there isn't /sys, only /system; with the root permissions I can't delete it, and I also tried with ADB, but it's a mess. It's like 4 days that I look on the net how to fix it, but I didn't find anything that could help me. I thought about making a cut of the / sys files and past 'em in / system and then wipe everything from TWRP, but I don't know how ADB works and I wouldn't mess it up. If anyone has better ideas I'll really appreciate it, thank you very much in advance.
Also, sorry for bad English but is not my native language.
