New to this so be gentle
Got galaxy S 3 the other week Everything super cool ehmm apart as the title suggest the LED doesn't and has never worked.
I defo got the settings correct and all that so don't know if it's a hardware problem or software problem.
Had a wee look on Google to see if it was common issue or if there a work a round etc but can't get any info re this hence why I'm posting here .
Any suggestions will be gratefully received
Cheers

What rom are you using, mate? I'm sure stock rom LED works, and almost non-stock ROMs i've tried have LED working.
Just the stock rom mate. Seems to be a bit of a rarity for it not to work as not came across anyone else with same issue. Lucky white heather eh...
Not a deal breaker I can live without it, but if they was a solution I happily implement it.

I'm getting a problem where something is automatically turning on my wifi after a little while of sleeping in my pocket. Anyone else have this? Any method to see what is doing it?

Look through alot of threads on xda. There are alot of good suggestions on here. Some help some people and some help others. I myself have had this issue also. I've swapoed kernels, flashed back to stock, etc.etc. Right now i'm trying a free market app called fixr wifi fix and it seems to be working but only time will tell. If you try it and it helps just hit the thanks button.

Have you tried a different rom? If it works with that then its a rom issue and you should report the bug to the developer (if its not already a known issue)
Edit: Also should make sure it's not the wifi itself. Do that by either trying the phone on a different wifi network, or using a different device on it (preferably an android device.) Also make sure the password is right and such...
no. It occurs in ALL CM7 ROM!!

General android issue
I have had the same problem a lot, it appears to be a general android issue with several android phones.
But none of the solutions I have found have been a solid solution for this issue.
Usually when this happens I've been running the same rom for several months, I just update my rom and good as new.
(Please let us know if you find a permanent solution. Don't abandon this post )
Cheers.
Come to think of it... I do remember encountering this issue a while back... I want to say I was on gingerbread so could have been cm7 issue... I am on cm10 atm and had no problems with cm9 as well... I would recommend cm10, it is really nice
Can be router issue also.

sometimes when I unplug my player it won't recognize it and continue displaying the blinking charging battery. it doesn't change until I restart it either. today I didn't restart and it even gave me a notification saying it was fully charged even tho it was really at about 25%... do you guys think this is hardware or software causing this??

I don't know the answer, but general thread

I think that this is probably a software problem caused by entering a rom without properly clearing the cache partition and a simple reflash back to stock gingerbread should fix this problem. Best of luck!

Reflashing won't fix it. Unfortunately that is a pretty common problem (for me at least), and probably the only fix is some serious kernel modding.

I had this problem on stock gingerbread. but for me it would say it was plugged in when it wasnt. This occurred once on crumble, and has never happened on paranoid.

Used or brand new phone?
Can you please give details about your phone? Model, ROM, kernel, is it rooted? Perhaps a screenshot of the "about" section?

No, rooting won't change anything, so no use in this case. You're completely stock, so it MAY be a hardware issue. Did it work when you bought it initially? Or has it been like that since you unpacked it?
Also, you're on 4.0.3. Upgrade to 4.0.4 and see if the problem persists. Update via KIES and do nothing else after upgrading (don't do a data wipe or anything else).

Spiralzz,
Thanks for the reply!
Wifi works 5 out of 10 times whereas regarding blue tooth, when I turn it on it automatically restarts.. Bluetooth did work initially... Will try updating to 4.0.4 and let you know the status.

Hi,
I noticed the same behavior if I am turning on the WiFi, while data communication over 3G is done at that moment. The WiFi freezes, the phone starts to heat and if to turn on the screen lock after sometime the phone will not be turned on until the battery is removed. If to look at battery usage statistic after the battery removal you will see the gap in it.
It does not happen if the WiFi is turned on while the communication over 3G is not done.
Tried to search for solutions, but unfortunately it was not successful.
So decided to keep the WiFi turned on constantly, just to avoid this issue.

Workaround I found is when you try turning on wifi and if it doesn't turn on immediately ... Just restart your phone, the wifi will be turned on, instead of removing the battery and putting it back.

@OP: If you recently purchased it go back and they'll give you another one that will not have that issue. If you bought it from someone else, well, there we can start talking about flashing and what not.
