Have you tried a different rom? If it works with that then its a rom issue and you should report the bug to the developer (if its not already a known issue)
Edit: Also should make sure it's not the wifi itself. Do that by either trying the phone on a different wifi network, or using a different device on it (preferably an android device.) Also make sure the password is right and such...

no. It occurs in ALL CM7 ROM!!

General android issue
I have had the same problem a lot, it appears to be a general android issue with several android phones.
But none of the solutions I have found have been a solid solution for this issue.
Usually when this happens I've been running the same rom for several months, I just update my rom and good as new.
(Please let us know if you find a permanent solution. Don't abandon this post )
Cheers.

Come to think of it... I do remember encountering this issue a while back... I want to say I was on gingerbread so could have been cm7 issue... I am on cm10 atm and had no problems with cm9 as well... I would recommend cm10, it is really nice

Can be router issue also.

[Q] wifi channel 13 on cm7 6.5.x

Hi everyone,
has anybody the same problem in mik's cm7 6.5.x that wifi networks using channels above 11 are not seen.
There are known bugs that either the "regulatory domain" is not visible which is also the case on my phone. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=576575
Or on other Threads it is recommended to set somehow the country code to EU.
See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1067944
This one also not work for me.
Any help would be great.
I've tried the same things you've described and couldn't make those channels work. I have posted the same issue few days ago, but it seems that no solution is known, as I'm looking to resolve this problem too.

Oh yes just found your Thread right now. I searched for such topics quiet earlier but did not doublecheck today. Sorry.
I am also not allowed to post in dev section but still hope that some guys who are will pick it up...
Well mik posted on CM7 topic that this issue will be fixed in the next release, so I guess everything is gonna be ok.

WiFi glitch on 3.5 virus Rom

Ive searched the forum for solutions on how to fix this issue but can't seem to find I good answer. I've also changed kernels but it still goes on & off. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it thanks.

I can't be the only one with the problem?
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
you should try switching over to static ip
Try changing your router channel to 11 if its not already. Also try updating your routers firmware. And in settings/WiFi/advance WiFi settings make sure best performance is checked and sleep is set to never.

Thanks for all your replies, but I should have stated that I only have this problem when using virus rom. I was on miui the WiFi worked flawlessly no restarts. I'm just wondering what I should do to get it stable on virus because his Rom is dope.
Thanks again

Well in that case you could try switching kernels if you haven't already. Also you can adjust the WiFi setting in the settings menu if you haven't already as well. The info I posted is still relevant toward the router you own it may or may not help with the virus issue but it will give you better performance if you keep your routers firmware up to date that's if you haven't already.

New anthrax or ziggy kernels both work great.

Thanks but I've used both and I'm still getting the WiFi reset issue. I tried ziggys with the 329 release of 3.5 but still a no go.

There is no fix and hasn't been for awhile. Any sense 3.5 rom I go on my wifi goes in and out. Awhile ago I tried posting a thread for advice and I'm guessing because it happens to so few people nobody really wanted to look into it. My advice don't use 3.5 if you need wifi. Try one of the 2.17 base roms. They're just as smooth. Also I'm sure once ics hits the issue won't be there with 3.6. Not too much longer!

Problem with Photon calling out -_-

Hey don't know if this is a motolib related issue or not....but I currently have the latest cm10 build by joker 0.2.0. gsm. I currently am using airfire mobile as my service plan since it works great in my location. However everytime when I call out, it always ends the call right away then it'll wait then automatically call out again which will then be successful. is there any way to fix this double calling up thing by chance? I've tried wiping and installing fresh with no prevail. if I do need to logcat, how would I do so? I would like to give my thanks to all the developers who made this possible to have jb on the photon. Thank you!
Sent from my MB855 using xda app-developers app
Not sure if it is your problem, my dropped call was somewhat different than you had, but running Joker's latest CM10 I kept having outgoing call issues right away.
Turns out all my calls failed if they started with a 1, and worked if they just started with the area code. Updating my address book to delete the 1 prefixes fixed the issue. Strange, and again, no idea if that will be your solution or not, but can't hurt.
If all else fails try using one of th3bills lovely ROMs

just tried calling out with deleting the 1's and still does the same thing -_-. I just flashed the peetrs custom rom which is supposedly the "recommended rom" which is an android 2.3 build. same thing happens ugh. ill have to try out a few new roms and similar cards to narrow down the problem unless if anyone else has suggestions? thanks for trying to help btw

Any daily driver other than Froyo?

Hi,
I'm using TeamWhiskey Froyo Rom and wondered if there is a later version that is recommended as daily driver. I see there are plenty of 4.x roms, but anyone is stable and good enough to replace the Froyo?
Thx.

Pick anyone, it's better for sure. I use Kingsoft Miui on Semaphore kernel, I know it's way better than Bionix 1.3.1 or Biwinning or no matter what Froyo you can think of. Go ahead, it's time to upgrade.
+1, all of the 4.1.2 ROMs , IMO, are stable. There has been great progress with GPS in these ROMs as well. Upgrade, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
I am Jack's smirking revenge.
Thx guys, I'll try to upgrade, got bored already with Froyo...

Ok, so I installed Slim Bean, really like it so far! Can't believe it's the same phone... Though I have some battery issues, need to check that, seems to be draining fast, I suspect the gps is keeping the system awake all the time, I remember it was an issue on ics roms...

Just wanted to update if others will read it, what I did to solve the gps wakelocks is to install this single file gps fix:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33844820&postcount=1246
And also uninstalled the GPS Status app I had, it seemed to be interrupting the gps from working well. That's it, hope all problems are gone now...

Be warned that gps fixes that replace blobs can mix badly with emergency dialing and can cause intermittent (and in at least one case constant) RIL crashes when dialing an emergency number.

Thx. I'm not in the USA, I wonder if it affects my emergency numbers here as well, thanks for letting me know, will check.

Also intermittent means it could work 90% but crash 10% of the time, so one test may not be conclusive. But frankly, I'm not sure if SlimBean uses the right libraries in the first place. prbassplayer/kravind can correct me if I'm wrong though.
How a 911 call is different from a regular call anyway? Why if regular numbers are working 911 won't?

Samsung used a special RIL request code for emergency numbers, so when we detect an emergency number, we use that code. When it does an emergency call it uses a command related to GPS and if the GPS libraries are out of whack, then the RIL can crash or receive corrupt GPS readings.
And also, 911 has to work even if no SIM card is present.

I am also interested in a daily driver but I don't trust Jellybean. I tried ICZen but its been acting weird lately. Any suggestions?
ParanoidAndroid 2.54-360 is a rock solid JB41 ROM!
Would you prefer my usual method of conflict resolution?
Ahhhhh, seems like the wake lock problem haven't gone away... It depends on how I reboot my phone, also I'm still unable to get a GPS fix.
I think this is the last Samsung device I'll bought, instead of making new devices every 3 weeks it would be better if they actually supported their devices by updating the os for instance...geeee.

Try CM10 nighty, and activate GPS for a minute right after boot if you want GPS after deep sleep.
Hi,
I could get a fix with my Nexus 7 device, is there a way to copy that "fix data" to my Vibrant device? maybe this will help it get a lock?
Thx!

I don't think that's possible since you change your location.
You can use an external GPS which will surely provide a better lock than the internal GPS.

You're using a Vibrant 4G / Galaxy S 4G not a Vibrant. The V at the end of the model number shows that.

To funny cuz if you go to the cyanogenmod website and click the Vibrant it shows cm10 stable rom that i linked... And FYi i have a vibrant as well... Just sayin browski. Because rhe sgs4g and vibrant are two similar devices but different flavor. The sgs4g doesn't even have the support the Vibrant has when it comes to Cyanogenmod.

[Q] Mobile Data Issues

Okay, I've read quite a few topics including the stickies, but this problem has been persisting and I need help.
So, I flashed CyanogenMod 10.1 (Android 4.2.2) and downloaded the appropriate gapps, and all is well.
But this morning I noticed that my mobile data isn't working.
It says it is, but I can't send pics or use any form of the internet.
Anybody know why this is?
Or a good fix for this problem?
I saw something about reflashing the ROM, but never saw any confirmation.

First question: did you do a full wipe before flashing the rom?

1)check obvious issues pertaining to the problem you're having.2)search and search and search some more (ya know...like the welcome video you were supposed to watch when ya signed up says?http://youtu.be/JmvCpR45LKA) 3)if you still can't find an adequate resolution, post in a thread already existing with a similar issue (without necroing something obviously) 4) finally if all those steps have been follows and STILL can't find anything or a thread related to your issue, THEN post a new thread. Giving log costs details of your issues and what you've done to try and resolve them. If everyone did this, we'd have much less clutter to sift through .oh yeh. 5) profit.
