I made a grave mistake today, I wiped everything in my internal sd card. Now it won't boot anymore. It is just booting from the galaxy s2 logo. I followed the guide in the the wiki of cyanogenmod
The part where i made a mistake is in the "Place the CyanogenMod update.zip file on the root of the SD card." I thought that the root of the sd card is in my external microsd card. So I proceeded and put the update.zip in the microsd card.. Then I did Wipe data/factory reset and Wipe cache partition. After that I tried to find the update.zip but can't find it anywhere.
So I rebooted my galaxy s2, then bang it won't start anymore. It just loops in the galaxy s2 logo part.
So I searched google and found out that I wiped everything in my internal sd card including the stock galaxy s2 software. i made the biggest mistake of the year.
I mistakenly put the cm9 in my external sd card.. The clockwork mod can't read the external sd card. So now i'm stock with a brick galaxy s2
Please help me. I just started this rooting thing and now my galaxy s2 is bricked.
I know the odin application can help me flash a new rom. But i don't know where to proceed. What rom should I download?
If i can install a custom rom using odin i know this can help me fix my problem.
Please guide me. im begging all of you.
Can you still put your phone in download mode? if you can, then you can probably install stock rom.after that you can root your phone again. have you tried intratech's thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113928
Sounds to me like you didn't flash a proper kernel. You'll get stuck at the boot logo if that happens.

yes. i think thats what happened. please help me fix this.
I would advise you use odin to flash a stock rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278 use this to download a stock rom / root it. Then you can flash any rom after that!
I deleted my internal on purpose
You say Clockwork Mod can't recognise your External SD card, so i presume you can get into recovery?. if you're running a custom recovery like Clockwork and you can get in to recovery you'll be ok.
Dl a custom rom (checkrom) or kernel which supports external sd card, (like siyah or something) Connect your phone to your pc, and boot into recovery. Go to storage options in recovery and mount your phone. Your internal memory should be available to view in your pc. Copy across the file(s) you downloaded and Install the zip. The custom rom will bring you back to speed, or the custom kernel will allow you to flash whatever you had on your External SD to begin with. I recommend the rom flash though.
There should be plenty of help regarding Odin in the forums. Let us know how you get on.

If you wiped internal sd card you need to remove and replace battery enter download mode and flash a stock rom via ODIN .As you have wiped the entire OS so phone cannot boot to something that no longer exists .
Any stock rom will recover your phone logic says use one for your location .

i fixed it!!! thank you for your help!! hahaha im so happy. thank you very much kind sir
Happy to help, and good to hear it worked out
This is how you learn about custom roms, i think its good to get a bootloop etc. because it forces you to try troubleshoot and increases your knowledge.
and also if you can get into CWM recovery then thats generally a good sign and things can be recovered from there.
glad everything worked for you.

My SGS2 stucks at the reboot logo, SGS2 GT-i9100 >> Logo >> repeating.
I wanted to format my phone cause it was almost full, so i format it, but it doesnt work and i got the same space free.
So i tried to do it manually in Recovery Mode, i formated some stuff, but i formated something like: Format Pre-Load (or something like this) and some more stuff, if im right that was only data/cache etc, and system to.
But now my phone wont reboot....
Help!!!
Phone connects to Odin only, i tried to flash the file i use to rooted my phone again, but i get: FAILED.
Srry for bad English....
Hey guys,
I have a similar problem after attempting a root on my Galasxy i9001T.
I used Odin following the instructions on this thread,http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1125414, I've gotten as far as using Odin 1.83, using the GT-I9100T_DUKF2_original.tar as my insure kernel. Odin gave me the green light "OK" and I waited for my phone to boot upt.
My phone gets far as the initial "Samsung SII GT-I9100T" and stays there, there was no yellow triangle, which expected from the instructions. The phone recharges and is able to go into recovery mode, but is Odin is having trouble communicating to the phone via USB, it won't establish a connection, so I have a strange feeling that I've bricked my phone and need help to fix the problem if possible.
My phone model and kernel are below, any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.

Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I1900T
Kernel: 2.6.35.7-I91000TDVLB1-CL957836

You should not have formatted preload. Why didn't you just format the internal sd card?? Anyway now you will have to flash official firmware with odin. you can find so many guides on how to do that
...and to format your system wasn't the best idea also

Watch the third post. There's your answer.

You cleaned everything boy even the Android OS
You just formated your whole phone you deleted your android os. you have to use ODIN to flash rom download some official firmware of some custom rom or if you have cwm download the rom transfer the zip to sd card or internal on your phone and flash it from cwm. And remember if you want to clean up your phone completly Just use factory reset in setting and if you want to delete all files in your internal sd check delete all files. Never format SYSTEM and PRELOAD
Now he's got a clean device alright.
I can just put a custom rom on it?
Using Siyah kernel, Philz, CWM or another? Does this matter?
Otherwise is put a rom on my sdcard and i put my sd in my phone and i flash it.
I putted a rom on my sd, installed it in Recovery Mode and its working again, thx for the support.
I had rooted android revolution rom and it worked for a long time then suddenly it just turned off and didnt let me pass samsung logo.
I went to try backup restore through cwm and a bunch of other stuff aswell without success. (repartitions, reflashing, kies recovery, odin recovery, factory reset, and cache etc etc)
So i tried THIS http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2187081 rescue proccess and everything worked great with odin it finished without any erros or complaints and then showed me green pass. After odin flash of stock i get this message after reboot.
see my Attachment. ( cant post link because new to xda, they set limits it seems )
and i cant enter my internal sd card either, just says cant mount.
Anyone have any ideas? Would greatly appreciate help

Flashed Philz (newest version for i9300) and tried to access internal SD card but it says: cant mount /sdcard/
Tried to enter sd card through all the ways i know off. from mounting via adb/cwm and now philz.
Really weird. odin managed to install stock and other roms on the phone without any errors. but when i restart it wont mount sdcard.
Is my sd card corrupt/damaged perhaps?
here is another picture from recovery.
Needs a service centre probable damaged Nand .

ok. would be awesome if that was the case lol. Did you have excact same symptoms?
the last picture i linked above was of philx and trying to format/wipe internal sdcard / system. but it wouldnt let me. really wierd..
Another thing i maybe could do is to try install OS on external sd card.. if that is even possible with i9300.
Yo guys,
I got a S2 I-9100 and I flashed the new Siyah Kernel onto it via Heimdall. The Problem is that if i boot it, the Samsung logo and the Siyah logo appears but afterwards the screen turns black.
Its propably not turned off cos I can't restart it without removing the battery.
Download and Recovery still works. I tried to use the wipe data/factory reset, but that didn't worked.. actually nothing happened.
Also tried to flash the Original Kernel (KF3) but the Phone gets stucked in boot on the Samsung logo..
Would be nice if someone could help me

You may have a problem with rom not supporting your kernel. Get formatted system, cache, data and put dorimanx latest kernel onto your phone via recovery. From this point you should be able to flash any CM rom you can get. If it still persist, go for odin and lastest Samsung Official

well the only reason is that it didn't downloaded good, so redownload... or try with another sd card. or try to put the zip/rom in your internall sd. by going into recovery>format & mount>mount usb storage and now connect to your pc and drop the zip/rom into your sd card or internal sd :highfive:

I think that dev needs some people to get everything tested, even though it's not even booting. But he shared a way to get log from the device at 7th page of the thread !

Hi all,
Thank you in advance for taking a look at this and I do hope someone can help me.
I was hoping to increase my internal storage by flashing a new PIT file. I followed some instructions (http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/79112/resize-system-partition-of-galaxy-s-2) but, when getting to the part for restoring my backup, I get an error that I can't get past. The error is "E: Unable to mount '/emmc' ".
I am completely stuck on what to do. I have tried flashing alternative Roms and Kernels, but nothing helps. I did get another error on Siyah kernel which was "error installing rom status 7".
I can get to both recovery and download modes.
I really don't know what to do. I had a look at the guide for recovering from soft-brick, but the files are out of date and also the links don't work.
If anyone could help I would be very grateful.
Thank you!
formatting the emmc via recovery after flashing the new pit file is a requirement...
By the way you should have posted this in the general section...
Edit: flashing a pit file only increase the data partition and/or the system partition, you won't gain any space on the internal sd

Hi there,
Thanks for the reply.
Whoops, sorry. Is there a way I can move this to general? I also don't seem to have the option to wipe the emmc. I am in TWRP.

I think only a moderator can move it now.
Thats strange twrp doesn't have, either way boot into download mode and grab a kernel tar file from
www.forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/development-derivatives/convert-kernel-zip-to-tar-t2994381
Apolo or Gustavo, flash it via odin reboot in recovery when you are done then try formatting the emmc
Okay, so, I put on Apolo, got the option to wipe eemc in TWRP, it says "successfull", but also gives errors of "unable to mount /eemc through the log, as well as ending with "unable to mount /data".
How is best to proceed now?
So I decided to try and retrace my steps to get this to work. I formatted the emmc like you said (thanks!), then realised I need a CM11 Rom to go with that Kernel. So flashed CM11 and Gapps for the phone, and have successfully booted!
THANK YOU!
The only thing is, whilst doing this, I put the original PIT back on, so basically this was a wasted exercise. Would I have any problems if I Odin flashed the new PIT, then flashed the emmc, then reinstalled the ROM?
Thanks again for your help!
No,
head to this www.forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/development-derivatives/mod-increase-partition-size-t3011162
make a backup, grab the pit files from the link, choose the size you want.
Flash it with apolo kernel tar via odin(download mode)
Reboot recovery, wipe system, data, cache and format emmc then restore backup or you can flash the rom from scratch
