I switched from the asus tf201 to asus tf700. Currently there isn't a single rom for the tf700 . I was wondering if it may be possible for me to port one myself and If somebody could point me in the right direction. I've built cm7, cm9, and cm10 a bunch of times for supported devices. Thanks.

So I received my Transformer Prime today and am having wifi issues (very poor connection strength). Also, I have a group of very bright pixels on the screen.
I know there is a new Transformer tablet in the works that has significantly better specs...so I'd be best to wait. In the meantime, I found a mint TF101 with docking keyboard for $350. Everything checks out and it seems like a great package for the price. This coupled with ICS arriving in two weeks for the TF101 makes it a reasonable decision to return the defective Prime and get this original TF101 w/keyboard.
Is this a good move? I've never owned the original Transformer and hope that it is plenty fast to play flash content. Anyone care to offer a POV on this decision?
I plan on getting the newer Transformer in Q2 when it's rumored to release.

I have both and the OG TP is pretty damn laggy even with a 1.65 OC.
That + the random reboots and freezes makes in a no go for me.
I did it and am happy with my decision. Wifi is crazy strong and the device is plenty fast.
Wake me up when the new Transformer is released. The Prime isn't ready for prime time IMO.

Hi,
I would like to buy a tablet with dockable keyboard. But I can't decide whether to buy Asus Transformer, or Tranformer Prime.
Is Prime worth extra money that I would pay for it? Afterall Prime has USB only on dock and there is issue with GPS/Wifi.
Thanks
Hmmmm, apples or oranges to dessert?
You decide, good luck on your choice!
Cheers
Prime for sure. Most of the newer ones aren't as bad for wifi. I get 27 of 40 mbs throughput 2 stories up in my house which is simalar to my Droid raze. I'm happy. Otherwise wait for a new dockable tablet. Don't get the origanal!

Its a large upgrade for everything but GPS. The screen is an incredible improvement which is so important for a tablet. Not to mention the questionable Tegra 2 processor. Do yourself the favor or wait.

I my girlfriend bought the 300 and I was wondering if any TF201 rooms might work for it? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Unlikely. Though similar, they do have slightly different hardware. Its close enough that developers might make them work with both the 201 and 301 but since we dont have NV Flash to fix bricks you would be taking a huge risk at a $500 paperweight.
My suggestion is just dont.
Hi!!
I'm wondering why a tablet with so much power doesnt have the features that the Galaxy note 10.1 tablet has. I'm wondering is any of those features possible for our Primes.
I love my Prime but i cant help to think why is it not capable of doing half of those things? and also is there an app like S note for the prime?
ASUS ROMs are generally AOSP and this feature is not in AOSP. See stuff like Cornerstone for alternatives, or go port whatever Sammy does into a custom ROM for Prime .
Combined with the S-Pen, I'd consider the Note 10.1 a plausible replacement if my prime dies before the Note 2 or Tegra-4 tablets debut. But honestly, there's only so much you can do with a 10.1" screen.

thanks for the info, but i havent find anyway to flash the cornerstone to my prime. do you think that the features of the galaxy note can be ported to the prime:fingers-crossed: i would love to see that
There are a handful of ROMs out there that have Cornerstone built in, but you will sacrifice stability for functionality.
