I often switch between various ROM's from stock to custom, when you enter your google account details, go into playstore and accept it should auto start restoring previous downloaded apps, mine does not. I get a couple of updates to Gmail, Youtube and the likes then nothing, have to manually restore all or use titanium backup. Anyone else have this?
Yes, same!
My galaxy ace auto downloads but s2 doesn't, even though auto update is on

I have this issue too. The only time the auto restore function worked was with the initial installation of CM9 other than that its TB.

Yes. Mine too has stopped automatically installing.
Having to use TB. Quicker anyway but not he point

When I initially installed CM9 a few months back it did it but hasn't done it since. Even now if I go back to cm9 it doesn't do it. Must be an issue with the s2 as the s3 does it.

I would like to use CM7 however when I try to download Hulu Plus from the market it's not available. It is available in the stock and UnNamed roms. I haven't tried any other device specific apps, I assume the same goes for them. Is there something I can change in the build.prop to get this to work? I would like to get regular updates for the apps as well. So I'm not looking to just use an apk off of the internet.

If you ha e a nandroid backup of your stock rom and IF you didn't use titanium backup to save all your apps and data THEN go back to your nandroid backup and restore to unamed rom, make sure you have backed up the hulu+ app with titanium. Then go back to your nandroid of CM7, open tibu, restore the hulu+ app. I don't use it but I saw someone else post that when they restored their app from tibu it worked fine. Once it is installed you SHOULD still get/have available any updates as normal.
Disregard this IF you already backed it up with tibu and just restore it.
On another note yes you can change your build prop so you can get unseen apps. I am not sure what changes you would need to make though. I used to do that on CM7 with my captivate when Netflix wouldn't show up with CM7. But that was corrected a long time ago.

I have used my backed up Hulu plus app on CM7. Just want to know if I would definitely get updates as long as its attached to the market. Can anyone confirm this?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using xda premium
Don't think you will get updates sideloading like that.
Did you try using airplane mode trick? Wipe cache, enable airplane, enable wifi check. Don't know if that will help or not but its worth a shot

I am pretty sure it will work for you. Like I said I was using the hacked Netflix app well before it was available on our captivates a d when it got updates I was able to see it and download it. Then it wouldn't work saying it wasn't supported in my device. Then I would change my build prop again and it worked fine. I have also had apps that I have sideloaded from xda and once they were available on the market or bad updates I would get the updates and use the apps with no issues. I would bet you will be fine once you have it working.

Lately I've been having an issue where titanium backup has been freezing up. I'm on Saurom VI (Att) with transfuzion 3.2. I'll go into TiBu, start a back up or scroll through the list of apps and it will black out then ask to wait or force close. I've tried fixing permissions, reinstalling TiBu, enabling superuser and reinstalling superuser so I did a nandroid restore. Anyone else having an issue?

Seems silly to suggest but is usb debugging on
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA App
Yeah, but it's not like I just enabled it. Haven't had any issues. The only thing I did today was install the transparent Google play and the transfuzion dialer update. Doesn't seem like a reason TIbu would fc. I just saw a thread regarding the issue so I'm going to read it now. Thanks for the thought/ idea.

There's a thread going on here for this already.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1571281
In the international forum, they were suggesting to chat the Play store/market app data and change some settings in TiBu. However that didn't work.
I actually ended up going back to a previous day's nandroid backup and it solved the problem. I do think that it is related to the market, though.
So I flashed a gummy ics from to my friends fascinate. Had a bit of trouble with the restore, unfortunately losing the contacts. It still runs a bit slow and all the programs lag and force close. I've ran fix permissions countless times. Any suggestions?

Thanks man, I'll try that stuff when I get home. With doing the wipe, if I do a backup of all the apps and app data, doesnt that kind of make the data wipe redundant?

depends on your back up methods. i use google to back up contacts and tibu to back up apps. after a data wipe i just resync goole and restore app only(no app data) from tibu and your back in business.
I always bypass the Google account, to do an app restore first. Only restore the data portion of the apps that are most important. Like a checkbook app, dolphin, Tapatalk, etc. The rest be sure to just restore the app.
One that's done add your Google account and let the contacts sync, etc.

Hi guy's
Don't know if there's a problem with my phone or not but I just tried adding a Samsung account and my phone became virtually unusable. Lagging like crazy.
I'm on the latest BLG8 base with the latest OTA DLI7 BTU Rom from Samsung.
After I deleted the account and rebooted all is good again. Just wondering if it's a general problem with the Samsung account website or just my setup.
Anyway, if you're having bad lagging problems you may want to consider that as a possible solution

I think if you create a Samsung account it by default starts backing stuff up etc, I freeze everything Samsung related with titanium, it's all drivel!

So I've tried stock ICS but it didn't do it for me do I reverted back to GB 2.3.5 just for simplicity and ease of use.
However, I am thinking of going to JB once it's fully stable. I am currently running a root kernel bit that's it.
So, 2 questions arise here:
What's the easiest way to save my data as one file in Titanium Backup so I can reinstall on a new build?
Which build is fully JB ready? By this, I mean that all functions run flawlessly. I don't want an absence of wifi, gps, sms etc.
I know this sounds like I'm asking a lot, but I'm overcomplicating my request. So tl;dr, need GB to JB upgrade whilst keeping app and data settings.
Oh yes, I am on the 3 UK network.
Thank you.

Wrong section to post in.
But,
For apps u can use titanium back up
SMS - SMS back up and restore
Call log - call log back up and restore
Photos stay
And the recommended JB ROMs are either root box or resurrection remix, all JB ROMs are stable and are fully functional in reference to calls SMS WiFi and gps

edit: i'd also like to know if there's any way to back up apps on titanium backup into a SINGLE file, my backup folder is flooded with zips and plenty of files with weird names.

If you have the pro key (definitely worth it) you can do batch restore, and sort them into categories. Don't know if this will help but it'll save loads of time

Go ahead and try a JB rom, use titanium backup saves Tons of time, but remember if you back up while in a JB rom then, try to go back to ICS some apps may conflict.
GO JB!!
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Use Dorimanx 7.10 as your kernel and then you can dual boot a few JB roms to try.
Rootbox 3.1 looks great.
I use Jelly King - smooth stable and just works for me.
If you like the straight Android look and feel - SuperNexus Build 5 is a great way to go!
All the so many options. Thanks for the replies, I'll have a look at them.
When you say they are pre-rooted, has the triangle been removed also? Not a problem if it hasn't.
