Flashing back to stock, now keep boot looping ;( - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I finally got the phone in download mode and used odin to reflash the phone to stock. Odin say is successful but the phone keep looping on vibrant logo. I tried about 20 times and tried different stock files and odin but same looping.
What is going on? I am lost, and don't know what to do next. Please help:crying:

is this the first time u r using Odin? ........have u downloaded ur files properly?

OK, let's try working from scratch. Considering you've only ever posted three times I'm going to assume you are relatively new to using ODIN. First of all, download these files:
HERE IS ODIN << DOWNLOAD THIS
The PIT FILE << DOWNLOAD THIS
The TAR FILE << DOWNLOAD THIS
And yes, even if you already have these files on your PC and have ODIN I want you to delete them and replace them with these. Now lets go over the steps of using ODIN. First of all, get into Download mode. You already know how to do this, so I won't go into detail on that. Now load up ODIN on your PC. There should be a yellow box under ID COM, Something like COM 5.
Click the PIT button, Select the PIT file that I provided above.
Click the PDA button, select the TAR file that I provided above.
** Re-partition is checked now in ODIN - THIS IS APPROPRIATE!! **
Click Start. Unless ODIN hangs, you should see a progress bar start soon after. The process takes a few minutes and once completed successfully, you should properly boot up.
As a reference, watch this:
THE VIDEO IS JUST FOR REFERENCE! DO NOT USE THE FILES PROVIDED IN THE VIDEO! USE THE ONE'S I PROVIDED ABOVE! ALSO, EVEN THOUGH THE VIDEO DOESN'T CHECK "RE-PARTITION", CHECK IT.

You flashed wrong kernel.
EDIT: I made it short above just to let you know im trying to help. You flashed a kernel for GT-i9000, the international model, not SGH-T959, our Vibrants. Go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=728929 and download USB driver for your PC. Then go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=821625 and download Odin v1.7. And go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=870480 and download one of Odin flashable .tar Voodoo kernels, KA6, KA7 or KB1 preferably. Try match it with your ROM just to be safe.
Install the USB driver. Then extract Odin3 v.1.7.rar and run the executable. Leave Odin open. Turn off your phone by pulling out battery, plug USB cord to your phone and to your PC, press and hold volume up and down buttons, and insert battery. You should be in Download mode, and Odin will recognize your phone and display a COM#. Now click on PDA button and select the .tar file you downloaded earlier. And press Start button and wait untill everything is finished and your phone reboots.
The initial boot may take a bit as Voodoo will convert your filesystem into ext4. You will hear voice telling you what's going on. And you should be good to go.
Just in case above instruction doesn't work (I personally never flashed an i9000 kernel), try reverting everything back to stock. Doing so will require a couple of additional files.
Go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=734475 and download JFD Odin Image and 512 PIT file. Extract PIT file first. Then launch Odin, put your phone into Download mode, and in Odin press PIT button and select the 512 PIT file you just downloaded. And press PDA button and select JFD .tar file. This time make sure Re-Partition option is selected. And press Start. This take a bit longer than just flashing a kernel, but no longer than 5 minutes. Once you're back to stock (original released in July 2010), flash any other ROM of your choice.

I did the exact same thing just a few days ago. I asked on this forum and got some great help. I downloaded the new Odin Software v1.3 and also downloaded the stock Vibrant software. Put them all on your computer, extracted, and hold down just the 2 volume keys then plug in your usb cable. This will put you into download mode. Look in the Odin program and it should recognize your phone, if it doesnt then youll have to download the drivers again. Its in the Vibrant Bible. After all of that upload the Rom to the pda section in Odin and make sure you dont click anything else then push start. This will take a few minutes to load then your phone will reboot and your back to stock. This worked for me hope it works for you.
Thanks everybody, I used Baywolf's, hope his name is spelled correctly, Vibrant toolbox and got into Odin and reflashed my phone back to 2.1 stock, them Samsung Kies to 2.2 stock. Thanks for the replies
im having the same problem except that when i reflash my phone to stock and try to turn on my phone again it wont...i have to reflash it everythime i want to turn it on and it deletes everything everything

[Q] Help! Newb bricked

I know this has probably been asked a million times. But a had a bad nandroid restore happen, bombed while restoring /system. I could still get to recovery, but I I couldn't do anything with the system partition (reflash, nandroid restore, etc). So I thought I should probably odin back to stock (well actually heimdall since I'm on linux).
So I downloaded a KA7 tar file with a factoryfs.rfs file and tried to flash with:
heimdall flash --factoryfs ./factoryfs.rfs
This was the output:
Claiming interface... Failed. Attempting to detach driver...
Claiming interface again... Success
Setting up interface... Success
Beginning session...
Handshaking with Loke... Success
Uploading factory filesytem
0%
Failed to send file part packet!
Factory filesytem upload failed!
Re-attaching kernel driver...
No no matter what tricks I try when turning on the phone all I see is an icon picture of a phone connecting to a PC. So at this point I am basically stuck. Thanks in advanced
I think it depends on the sbl.bin you're using. I know the newer one allows you to odin/heimdall from the phone!pc screen, I believe the KA6 OTA contained it...you could try to heimdall this file, but also risk a brick. Did you try eugene's froyo that does not brick .tar?
how about this for unexpected,
I noticed that one of the heimdall options besides "flash" is "close-pc-screen" and that got be back to recovery.
So is there a "best" odin file to flash from here?
If you can get into download (and you can) mode, then you can:
1. Download Eugenes 'Froyo that does not brick' file.
2. Extract the files.
3. Open Odin, plug in your phone, then put it into download mode.
4. load the PIT file in appropriate area.
5. load the .tar file in the PDA area.
6. DO NOT check 're-partition'.
7. Click start, let it finish. Your phone will load and reboot into stock recovery. It will error out again. DONT panic! This is what's supposed to happen.
8. Now, pull your battery.
9. Load the JFD rom for the vibrant'.
10. Extract the files.
11. Once again, open Odin, plug in your phone, put into download mode.
12. Load the PIT file into the appropriate area and the .tar in the PDA area.
13. THIS TIME you want to check the 're-partition' box.
14. Now click start, let it finish, and this time your phone will load up just fine!
15. Then, root the phone and you can flash your new Rom.
doing this method will get everything back to normal and the phone will work just like it did right out of the box
OR............. You ca just flash JFD (click repartition box), and bypass the froyo that does not brick, But this is riskier...........
Check the Noob posting by S15274N i has all the ways in there.
Hope you solve fast
Thanks for the advice. Once I cleared that of screen I was able to get into download from recovery via "adb reboot download" then flashed the factoryfs.rfs from there. That worked and I nandroid restored after that. Whew!

HELP Stuck rebooting

trying to root my friends phone. I got root but couldnt load cwr so i tried to odin back to stock to retry and now the phone is stuck rebooting. Ive rooted many Epics but this is my first time rooting a Vibrant... I have an hour to fix this so any help would be nice
http://rootzwiki.com/showthread.php...pps-*-everything&p=11409&viewfull=1#post11409
odin to stock using the pit/tar in this thread.
as far as rooting goes there should also be an attached 2.1/2.2 update.zip as well.
if not check noob guide stickied on top of the QA sub forum.
once you get back to stock jfd 2.1 use a 2.1 update.zip to "reinstall packages" through 3 button recovery. that will root the device and get you to CWR. (reinstall packages twice)
already tried that when odin gets done the phone boots into android system recovery... then it says media files not found and when i try to reinstall packages it says
E:failed to verify whoe-file signature
right now i dont even care about root i just want to get her phone running again ive been at this for 3+ hours and shes starting to get pissed lol
So i dont no if im missing a step or what but odin is not working for me
ok lets review the steps for odining back to stock.
open Odin
connect phone via download mode.
check Only the pit, PDA, Repartition, Reset Time, and auto Reboot boxes.
For Pit, you should have 512.pit
for PDA you should have T959UVJFD.TAR
Select start
lemme know.

[Q] Deleting Cryption Meta Data

Helllo pple...
I have an SGH-I777 bought from the USA... now i am using the phone in India and from the past 6 months i have had absolutely no problems with it... i had switched my phone off to charge it... and after abt an hour... switched it on... but it has been flashing "Samsung galaxy s2" and going blank and re showing tht to me... i googled it and... tried soft reset... hard reset... but nothing seemed to work.... then... i tried to go in the recovery mode and did factory reset.... and since tht time... it is not allowing me to go in the recovery mode... everytime i have been trying to go... it is showing me the same message.... my phone shows me tht it is charging... but it doesnt switch on... and the place i live... there the pple in the Samsung gallery told.. there is no way they can fix it... is there any way i can? is there any possible way i can do it? i would be very happy if it does... please help...
Try the instructions in this post.
hey... thanks for telling but... i am really finding it a little tough to follow the instructions... i connected my phone to my laptop downloaded the files... but hw do i get started with it... can you please help me out.. i tried opening odin... it doesnt open... how do i open it? and how do i connect my phone with the software?
Assuming your laptop runs Windows...
Refer back to this post again, and...
For 1. follow the instructions in step 2a) of this guide, except use this file: I777UCKH7-CL503881 FULL Odin3 One-click Downloader (See Download Repository, link in sig) which contains the bootloaders and param.lfs.
For 2. and 3. since the phone will be in a boot loop, you need to install the kernel with Odin3 v1.85. Download the kernel from this Media Fire link. Then follow the steps in this post, except use the kernel you just downloaded instead of the stock kernel.
Follow 4. and 5. then for 6. download the tar version of Siyah kernel, and use the same proceedure as immediately above to flash it.
I got it Miten.....
May be i can do it... Hope for the best.......
i did the odin part... and after it shows me pass... i still cannot enter the recovery mode... it is showing me this...
"E:failed to mount /cache (unknown error: 0)
E: can't mount /cache/recovery/command"
what do i do now?? :crying:
"i did the odin part... "
What have you flashed with Odin. If you flashed the I777UCKH7-CL503881-Full package, then you are where you are expected to be. If this is this all you have flashed to this point, then you should still have a boot loop or error messages.
Next flash the SGH-I777_ClockworkMod-Recovery_5.0.2.3 kernel tar using Odin. Following this flash, you should be able to enter recovery and perform a wipe data/factory reset.
The thrid step is to flash the Siyah kernel using Odin. Use the link in 6. of that guide and download the tar version.
i could enter the recovery mode... i did factory reset... but it is still rebooting and showing me
"Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100" with an exclamation mark.. what do i do

After it shows the GT-I9100 boot screen and yellow triangle with exclamation mark, does it boot on in to the operating system?
The GT-I9100 boot screen and yellow triangle with exclamation mark is present because you flashed a custom kernel with Odin. This can be cleared later, but first you need to be able to boot the phone all the way up.

no... it is not rebooting... sigh
It's possible the phone has some type of hardware failure, I suppose.
Can you still get into download mode?
Can you tell me what you have flashed successfully through Odin and in what order you flashed them, if more than one thing?

There was never anything said about using a pit.
That pit is for the GT-I9100, not the I777.
I seriously doubt that the partition sizes for the I9100 are the same as the I777.
I hope you havn't completely screwed up your phone.
There is a pit for the I777 in the Download Repository, see the link in my signature.
I'm not giving you any more advice. You're on your own.

I think what creepy is saying here is:
FOLLOW THE DAMN INSTRUCTIONS LAID OUT TO YOU EXACTLY AS THEY WERE WRITTEN!
I read the instructions and don't see how you could have decided to do anything with pit files like you have. Do you go to the doctor and when he tells you to take 2 hydrocodones per day do you then take 3 plus a couple Aleve chased vodka? NO! You take the medicine as prescribed and let it ride.
Come back after following the instructions EXACTLY as written and maybe you might receive more support if your problem is not solved.
Good luck.

[EDIT:] These guys take time out of their day to help us when we can't figure it out on our own. They should be getting paid for their time and effort but the thing is, they ENJOY helping others discover the possibilities that can be unlocked with our phones. Thank them by listening to what they say and following their advice correctly.

hey guys thanks a tonne... my phone started... thanks a lot...
Success! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
This worked perfectly for me today. I was able to get past the boot loop and the Deleting Cryption message and then flash back to stock with the I777UCKH7-CL503881-Full.exe. Just what I wanted and needed.

I think I may be of great help to you, as I did this yesterday.
Modem=Baseband in settings>about phone
Get the latest bootloader (NK4) from sammobile's official site (Note 3 Sprint)
Download it, extract the .tar to a folder on your desktop.
Get the latest twrp recovery (2.8.0 or 2.8.1) for Sprint 4.4.4 Don't use the 2.8.3
Download SU 1.94
Download odin (version of your choice)
Right click on odin and run as administrator
Power phone completely off, I repeat completely off.
Open odin 3.04 or 3.09 (I use 3.07)
Hold vol down+home+power to boot into download mode and hit volume up to accept to continue to download mode.
Plug phone in once odin is up and phone is already in download mode.
Odin will say connected and have a blue box and say [com3] or something to that extent.
Use the AP box, check the box next to AP, once you've checked the box proceed to click on the word AP, load the .tar file of the NK4.
Uncheck auto reboot. Keep f reset time checked. Only (1) should be checked.
Click start.
Once you're sure it is done, unplug phone and remove battery.
Let phone sit for 10 seconds without battery in.
Click reset on odin.
Put battery back in and get back into download mode.
Once connected load the SAME EXACT .tar you did before. Make sure auto reboot is unchecked and f reset time is checked.
Hit start once again.
Once you're sure it is done, unplug phone and remove battery.
Hit reset on odin.
Put battery back in and get back into download mode.
Once connected load the SAME EXACT .tar you did before. Make sure auto reboot is CHECKED and f reset time is CHECKED.
Hit start. Let phone reboot itself. Once on the stock Rom. Power off device. Reboot into download mode, reset odin, load the recovery.img in AP. Keep reboot and f set time checked. Once done it will boot back into stock rom.
Power device off.
Boot into recovery (twrp) vol up+home+power
Find SU update.zip and flash in recovery.
Voila.
Make sure you're on Nk4. Settings > about phone
If you want to install a custom Rom, wipe in TWRP like normal and flash your custom Rom.
You need to do the NK4 3 times, to make sure it sticks.
I did it once, it didn't stick and I was completly pissed and didn't know what the hell happened. I spoke with Wormy my good friend and he had told me what @freeza said.
I put these directions in my own words but went off of what @freeza said. It works and is dummy proof.
Good luck to you. If you have problems please contact me, wormy or freeza for further answers.
Sorry I don't have all 3 links but you should be able to find them easy.
