Extended battery without hump on cover - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

I am looking to get one of 5000-5400 extended batteries(doesn't matter if it is 5000, 5200, or 5400). I was wonder if there are any that are good quality that doesn't have the battery cover that looks like a hump back. I saw a lot on amazon with a nice smooth battery door but they said not for the i717. Anybody recommend one other than the Mugen?

i have that mysterious gold battery. it is o..m.g. too good for what i paid for it. my original battery is long gone and it basically closed the curtains on my anker 2700ma. i had it for about 3-4 months now and still to this day loving every min of it. im honestly a gadget nut and im always playing with my phone so for this thing to last me from when i wake up in the morning (5:25am) til the end of my work day (5:00pm) i finally found a battery that will go the duration without charging. thats internet, music, youtube, nova 3, ect. i normally put it on the charger around 9-11pm. at that point it is down to about 15%. i bought it because a female on this site started a thread about it and alot of people were iffy about it. only a few of us bought it, and im pretty sure all are satisfied as she proved extremely right to the discreditors lol.

My Personal Cheap Extended Battery Review

I was a bit cocky after my case swap last week. So me being my cheap self went on ebay this week and bought an extended battery. Here is the link. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=190138594210&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=009
Battery came 5 days later. Black door.... Non rounded and boxy... I dealt with it on my 8125 so i didnt mind. At first i wasnt impressed cause im like wtf.. where is my self portrait mirror. Im assuming it came off during shipping... I could have been anal about it but i had some locktite super glue and put it back on... looks like new.. I did my battery door "Missing Antenna Plug" door mod as i suggested in another post =P. I took my old battery door off and took the battery out... good by slim and hello brick.... new battery fit in fine ... new door snapped in fine... Now for the test drive. It arrived with about a 60% charge. I drained leaving wifi on and streaming music from pc... took a long ass time. I charged it with the 1A stock charger... took a while but it eventually charged in a little less than three hours while off. I work 8 hr shifts at night so im on my phone alot my stock battery normally gets me to about 40% during the night. Thats playing music, Surfing on EDGE with two maybe three bars... Trust me its struggling to get that many. So i know the antenna is using alotta juice. I have it checking hotmail every 15 Minutes. I text about 400 messages a night and i use TomTom to dodge traffic the morning after work with full brightness and bluetooth on... I put in this battery i made it through my shift under the same senario and made it to 90% im thinking the battery maybe is misreporting and its going to drop off to 0 or not even make it to it before it cuts off like when i bought a cheap extended battery for my 8125 (replaced with same brand and worked fine) I streamed mobitv for about two hours on the way home from work over 3G. And it dropped to 70%. Im like the damn thing wont die. I cranked up the wifi and turned on mobitv thinking this will seal its fate. How about it took 7 hours to kill it from that point. I didnt evaluate any talk time on it cause of my hours and no one called but to me thats impressive... I would think if i didnt try to kill it on purpose it would have game me close to a 3 days of runtime. Its a 3.7v 2800mAh Lithium Ion made in Taiwan by Celxpert Energy. Any disatisfied people please post their experience with their extended battery.
whoa! nice! i think i may have to buy me one of those thank you for your review and the extreme testing hehe
I am going to more testing in the next few days. Ill be sure to keep everyone intrested posted. I really think under normal piddling around and texting and listening to music over bluetooth if i only made it to 90% on the first day. I could prob very easy get more than my projected 3 days. Its the morning of the seconday im sitting at 90% again. Most of my drain is at work. And if im actually working really hard.. Im more likely in an area where its searching for signal that was my main drain but my on its first day I cant say that i held back any i gave it hell during my shift on the way home and killing it just for the hell of it to deep cycle the battery. It doesnt get warm during charging or during use. I would assume it pretty solid... The next few days will tell.
price is really good, even better than the $26.99 (includ ship) I paid for a 3000mAh. The back door is black not silver/grey though.
I upgrade my 8525 case to a dopod replacement. My phone is completely black so the black battery door was what the doctor ordered.
Yesterday i got off work at 90%. It was probably actually low 80s because it hit 80 an hour or so after getting home. Today i got off work im at 60%. I had 2 calls totaling 58 minutes... and did some light browsing on EDGE.Bluetooth has been on since the full charge yesterday. And it has been checking hotmail every 15 minutes. I think its probably been hunting for a signal I have full 3G at home and 2-3 bars EDGE at work if i carry it in my shirt pocket. If im carrying in my case on my hip its prob searching for service under the gut. but Ive never been able to get two days with stock. The test continues..
I dont see how people can carry a brick that big
Day three down to 20% did the usual surfing 2-3 bars weak reception on EDGE. Bluetooth has been on since first day. One call today 35 min. TomTom 6 for about 5 hours today... Alot of city driving. Bought the audio dongle so ive been playing music in my car so tack on about 4 hours of that. and you have an almost dead battery. Discharge has even out. Its pretty steady.. no sudden drops in percentage like some other cheaper batteries. It has my my thumb and two big toes up!
Very tempting to try it. Though, my problem is that I have a Brodit car charger and of course it won't fit with the extra bulk.

1900MAH Ebay Extended Battery Review

This is my personal review of the exact battery seen in this auction.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Battery-For-AT-...3314352QQcmdZViewItem?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116
My startrek is brand new. I actually owned the phone when it came out and sold it. Now I have it again once I found out that I could install WM6.1 Professional. I LOVE IT. I like rubbing it in everyones face that owns other Smartphones and PDA phones that my phone can do everything yours can do and more. Anyways I noticed that with the stock 1100MAH battery the life was kinda sub par I rarely got a full day out of it. Although the cpuscaler makes the phone really responsive. It uses alot of juice and the only way I got respectable runtime is when I forced it to stay under clocked. Even then it got me a little over a day maybe 36 hours. I surf the net. I send over 2-400 txt a day. I run OZ IM software all day. I sync my hotmail every 30 min. Plus 1-2 hours of talk time and 2-3 hours of bluetooth a2dp play time. I use Garmin and bluetooth gps everyday. So im raping the stock battery. I sprung for the extend battery on ebay vs the mugen battery of the same AH. 1/3 of the cost. Im happy to say that i get atleast 2 1/2 if not 3 days without charging. The phone has a big arshe now because of the new cover. It really feels alot more comfortable in your hand with the bigger hump in the back. I got big hands and the stock always felt uncomfortable using one hand. I can leave cpuscaler on all the time now without worring about "I NEED MORE POWER CAPTAIN!!" Actually since the phone is a little bit elevated off the flat surface it get better reception and doesnt rock back and forth like with the stock battery and cover. The cover is cheap plastic but its rugged. It doesnt quite follow the profile of the phone exactly but its pretty close. Cover still shuts off phone when taken off. Ive used it for about two weeks and discharged it fully several times so im pretty confident in my results. There is no false battery % reporting like most cheap or expensive batteries have. It has gave me an accurate % every day and didnt hang at a certain % for hours like the mugen battery did on my kaiser. This is a good buy and i suggest everyone pick one up if they are concerned about runtime and not about looks.
Hmmm, I never had a problem with my 1100mah battery, even with heavy usage, I'd have at least 30% the next day. With light usage, it will last me a few days.
That seems awfully bulky with that big back cover.
Thats kinda what i said... With heavy usage the stock battery will last about a day and a half at most. I would have about 30% left after a full 24. My extended batt leaves me with about 70%. Ive been used to extended batteries cause i believe all htc phones fall short with their undersized batteries and ive even had some phones like the HERMES that used to get 4-5 hours when they came out. As the rom cooks improved battery management they got better but still fall short. I also said if you dont care about looks and care about runtime this battery is for you. Its almost twice as large as the stock but even the more expensive battery like the mugen battery .... their covers arent always the most streamline covers. The only cover I liked on my phone from them was the kaiser only cause it appeared to be stock with no bumps or humps lol. Im not a fan of opportunity charging because i find my self buying 5-6 chargers for one phone and placing them in my various hot spots losing the phone and or charger and having to make unecessary trips to retrieve them. Its a slim smart phone what do you expect. It personally fits better in my hand. My desktop dock just came in and it fits like a champ. Fits fine in my universal fit suction cup windshield mount too. So its cool with me.

what ya think worth it? 2300mah...

http://cgi.ebay.com/2300mAh-Extende...ccessories?hash=item2a0345cc94#ht_2529wt_1202
what ya think guys? anyone know the seller?!
yeah, that seems interesting and cheap too. Anyone tried it yet?
Yeah, me.. I bought one of this some weeks ago and works fine, lots and lots of hours using my phone without be afraid to read "Please connect your phone to a charger" lol
Also, the replacement of the back cover is nice, but the only "bad" thing is that the camera hole is, simple a hole, nothing like the original one that protect it (plastic cover).
i ordered one ill let ya know!
I originally wanted to get the 2,300mah one, but then came across a bigger capacity one "2850mAH T-Mobile HTC G1 Dream Extended Battery + Door" for only $13 with international shipping! I ordered it... will see whether it is a good buy or not. I was one of the original users of Andida's 1,600mAH batteries (the good batch).
I just started using the 2300mah, same back cover design also. Works fine, doesn't overheat and lasts for a very long time even when running really high cpu clocks.
It was only about 10 bucks shipped. Same seller also.
Edit: The back cover is soft like the stock one. Overall, it is about 1/4 of an inch more. It feel good in the hand, fits nice and easier to hold, but it does feel a bit heavier than before.
I just got mine today, only had the opportunity to give it a USB charge... After almost 10 hours of uptime, downloading a ROM via 3g, 25 mins of talk, hours of web browsing for work at moderate brightness, I still have 65% left. I expect it to increase when I treat it better after a deep cycle discharge and clearing battery stats to (supposedly) condition it. The case is decent... fat, but totally worth it.
One caveat... I emailed the seller (same outfit from whom I bought mine btw) after the purchase, and let them know my home address IF they were to send by UPS instead of USPS. They ended up trying to send the battery to my home address by First-Class USPS due to a language barrier that revealed itself in the e-mails that followed. Had I not known the postmaster in my small town, it would have ended up returned to sender. The seller was very friendly and quick to respond, and had I not sent that first e-mail I am confident it wouldn't have happened like it did, so I'll take the full blame on that one. Rule of thumb: pay, keep quiet, receive item, use.
just got mine is yesterday..changed it all night been off charger since 630 EST gps, 3g, my location, brightness about 3/4, mp3 for a about an hr..still pushing 100%.. will update wen it dies...
Seidio 2600mAh FTW
Good Stuff.
For the record, My 1st dirty charge on USB power (I was at work) yielded a functional phone from 2/17/10 at 3:00 PM until 2/19/09 at 5:30 PM or so when it shut down on me... I am calling it 50 hours. Apparently there was a bit of juice in the battery because it charged super fast that first time. I work right near a 3g tower and always have a degree of brightness on the phone, leave bluetooth on for at least 35 minutes a day, and I use every power-hungry aspect of this phone like the tips and tricks say to avoid... But I bought it to use it. Ironically I SMS far more than I talk (I yap on the phone all day for a living)... Given my data habit (that first charge involved downloading Super D 1.8 which is in the 40+MB category and an obscene amount of apps), I am a very happy customer. I have not grown tired of the back cover, which has honestly made typing more comfortable.
I probably would have gotten the Seidio if I wasn't a ridiculous tightwad with a 9 year-old computer to prove it. Only the good die young right?

[Q] Evo 3d batteries

I see a bunch of batteries on ebay, are these legit? I read the battery is 1730 per HTC but yet on ebay ithey are listed as 1800 and even 1850.

Also should a generic charger work fine for the Evo3D as long as it has the micro usb end to it?

let me know what you guys think. If I were to bet i would say the batteries are a no no but the chargers are fine. Sorry for being a newb
no one responding. is it because you guy don't know or because everyone is laughing that I posted this question.. lol.
I have no clue bro, I just take my charger to work and plug that **** in.
Im guessing its because none of us have gotten our hands on the phone yet. I can tell you that I bought some aftermarket batteries for my 4G and they sucked pretty good and didnt last long at all. I ended up just buying an extra oem battery to carry around with me.
Hard to say. I have like 4 of these type of batteries (Made in China) for my Evo 4G, and if these are anything like those, you can expect the same battery life as the OEM battery.
I'll probably pick up a couple.
i hope the battery lasts a little bit longer than the EVO... i dont know y they cant make the batteries last atleast 6 or 7 hours lol

The highlight of this is I know there were not a lack of responses because people are laughing. This forum doesn't hold back. Once everyone gets a phone n hads we MAY all become a little more civil Until then brace your self.
I buy the after market batteries and charges for my current phones, honestly they work well for me, I like the small wall charger I bought better than any other charger I have seen. And yes after I get my 3d I will buy after marker chargers and batteries for it as well.

They do, mine last 26 in my evo. Its more about how efficently you use the energy.
Non OEM batteries are notorious for being over rated in mAh and usually are lower capacity then the OEM. Batteryboss.org

I just ordered a pair of them with a charger. I have a few of these China batteries that I keep as back-ups for my current Evo and they work great. I keep a fully charged one in my car, another in my desk at work and another one at home. I hardly ever use them, but they've been handy when I've needed them.

That is exactly how I use them as well and they are just as good as the OEM and way cheaper. Great value so far and I plan to do the same with the 3D.

Seidio Case/Battery coming...
For my 4G, I have the 3500maH battery and the ultra rugged case from Seidio.
Here's the page for similar products for the 3D.. Hope they are available soon
My experience with their battery has not been disappointing at all. Not quite the 30 or so hours people boast about in the forums, but still at least double that of the OEM battery. I suspect that's because now that I have the big ol' battery, I am using the power hungry features of the phone more frequently than before.
The phone is a little thicker with the new battery door, but it actually feels better in my hands with that extra depth. Feels less likely to slip out and drop.
A significant caveat is the battery gauge. Unless you leave it on the charger for a couple hours after it shows 100%, it won't get to its full capacity. At least that's what seems to be happening with my phone.

I got 75-80 (don't remember exacts) on my extended battery from Sprint. That was being mildly conservative, using GPS and music while working out, a lot of texting, couple phone calls, some internet usage.... I was happy.
Just gotta see what the extended battery is going to look like for this beast. At least for the OG EVO it looked halfway decent because of its location and what not.
With the dual camera lenses it'll look a little weird in my opinion... And I like the slim/ naked look more so now than ever lol
I have three of the similar batteries and charger for my EVO 4G, just not extended. They have been a great value. Never plug in except to ADB. Never have to hover around a corded charging phone afraid to miss a call.
I ordered the similar for the EVO 3D. They haven't arrived yet, as well as the phone. Your post may be a little premature
Nothing really new to add, but I too use the cheap generic replacements in my Evo 4G. Last week, I got lucky on eBay and scored 3 Evo 3D batts plus a wall charger for $13.50 shipped. They probably won't be as good as the stock battery, but will be fine for me as I'm not a power user by any stretch. I routinely get 24 hours out of the stock battery, so even if they are only half as good, they will get me through the day with no problem.
Somebody linked these in IRC and thought I would share, thinking of getting these. http://cgi.ebay.com/3x-1800MAH-HIGH...ccessories&hash=item3cb94bf1db#ht_1744wt_1140
Yeah I have 3x batteries and the wall charger on the way since last week!
I'll let you know how it goes
Hmm...
I forgot about those.
I ordered 5 cases, screen protectors, and got them from china.
Inside were 2 batteries and an external charger.
They kind of got tossed somewhere....
1800mAh.
Popping one in now...
***
It's noticeably lighter than the oem, but the phone booted.... So... we'll see.
I don't really have enough use/drain time specs yet to tell you much, but I'll slap Juice plotter on the thing and see what happens...

Battery life Expectations

I have seen reviews and all say the life is mediocre. So far after about 5 days of testing its better than my Nexus S 4G. Yesterday pulled in 16 hours and still had 40%. That was with minimal games, a couple 3d shots and videos, some music and bout 300 texts, display on 3/4 bright. Internet of course too.
Day before was about the same results, much more 3d though so i finished at 14 hours with 20 %.
So far I am liking the battery. Waiting to root, titanium backup, restore all saved games to fully test the battery life. Broken arm makes it hard to game :[
Thanks for the lowdown.
Was 4G on the whole time?
Hmm yeah, battery life was my main concern. However i realized that stock comes with a 1730mah battery, and siedo sells a 1900mah battery right off the bat that fits snug without modifications.

I think part of what is getting missed in the reviews, seeing as most are "first impression" reviews meaning they haven't used the phone under normal use is. during these reviews the phones are taking a beating as far as how they are used. I mean I have zero need to tether for a day at work, or have 4 G on at all times. OR game for 2 hours straight a day, or watch a full 3D movie every day, or play with it just to play with it. Now will we all be doing this day 1-7? of course we will it's a new toy. (I took Friday off for crying out loud, because I knew I would be worthless.) But I think once the novelty wears off and we have our phones set up the way we want them, I actually think we will all be happy with out batteries. ie. getting 12-14 hours with out a charge. ( If I get that I'll be happy I would say I'm an average user.) I mean I've also come to realize asking a pocket computer to do more is asking ALOT so I have chargers everywhere. But I'm just saying. when you need it to go that far I think it will. no problem.
Thanks for posting! Battery life is my greatest concern. I was psyched for this phone then I saw a bunch of crappy reviews then I wasn't psyched and now I'm getting there again. The reviews are all over the place even with the battery.
Please keep us updated.

There is a couple reviews posting similar results as the op. (Sorry i don't remember which ones)
Original evo owner as well. Rooted and overclock to 1.15ghz i was doing 11 to 12 hours consistantly. I had an extra battery so i always threw that in there when it died so wear was always from 100%-0% daily so i never saw it lose charge over the year.
Right know i unplugged at 11am, bout 5:30 pm. Was at the hospital so low signal searching always and i watched xmen 3. After that i was bored playing with 3d and a lot of google. Sitting at 48%. I Find that very respectable.
No 4g where i live. Only use wifi or 3g. That 1900mah will be perfect to have a extra one. Hate charging my phone. Never owned a car charger lol
As of now i have bout 35 apps and NEVER use a task killer. Major help has ti be for the excess ram and efficient cpu. Less load means less power draw. My evo was always 70-100%
