hey there is an issue with my xperia arc s , when i use the phone the battery level stays the same , i can only view the current battery level after i restart the phone. it was on ics so i even changed it back to gb, even tried changing the battery but no success, does anyone else has this issue ? is there a solution to this problem?
You'll be better off asking in the Xperia Arc Q&A forum. They'll probably be able to help you out better considering it's all based on that device.

After getting a replacment phone back from S.E. repair, I am now trying to root my Neo gain. I was actually extremely unfortunate to have encountered the problem in the first place, but that's a story for another time.
Earlier today after a bit of messing around I accidentally updated to 2.3.4 and I was wondering if there's a safe way to downgrade to 2.3.2 and not encounter the same error
Also as my phone was sent back to me with the same battery, my phone reads the charge fine, it's just in battery use it says 20m or 2m remaining even when it's above 90%. Will draining the battery to 0% solve this?
Look Arc forum and there is doomlord NEW thread rooting xperia phones.
Work locked and unlocked bootloader ans any 2.2.x 2.3.x version.
Cheers!

Hello everyone.
I can't post yet on the development forum and I just don't want to flood to obtain the 10 messages, so I decided to open this post.
My bootloader is locked and I use (obviously) the stock kernel.
I have Xperia Pureness Build 10 on my Xperia Neo (I started with Xperia Pureness 8 and upgraded to 10 doing a full clean install) and, from the first day, I observed that I drains the battery incredibly fast compared to my previous experiences with the GB stock ROM. Previously my battery lasted 1,5 days ~ 2 days depending on the use, now it lasts 0,5 ~ 1 day with similar usage. I want to know if there are other people like me, because I recognise the great ROM Pureness is, but the devouring battery feature makes it totally impracticable. Maybe it's because it's meant to be used with other kernels like Alliance? Is ThilinaC aware of that problem and working on solving it?
I have tried to set CPU values to minimize the consume, limiting the top freq on 800 MHz on demand, but nothing. I have been planning on doing some actions:
1- Do a battery wipe with: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...xLDEsImNvbS5uZW1hLmJhdHRlcnljYWxpYnJhdGlvbiJd
2- Upgrade to build 11, although I've seen on the forum other users saying the battery consumption since build 8 is terrible.
3- Try another ROMs for locked bootloader, focusing on total stability (the most important), as fast as my previous experience with GB stock kernel/Xperia Pureness and battery friendly.
4- Unlock the bootloader and try other options that match the characteristics said above (the pity is that I don't want to loose the warranty).
Sorry for my English (feel free to correct me and improve it) and thanks in advance for helping :good:
Only wiping battery stats doesn't calibrate battery. You have to discharge the battery completely and charge it to 100% non-stop, without any breaks. That is how you calibrate the battery.
Also I recommend unlocking BL. You can flash custom ROMS and kernels which are battery friendly. Also, there is a way around the warranty voiding by using test point method to unlock. Search about it and see if your phone can be unlocked by that method.

Thanks for the answer.
I read about the test point method, maybe I'll try. But I prefer doing It with the best option in mind, regarding a stable and fast experience on ICS, so feel free to recommend a particular ROM + kernel (I don't want a terrible Jelly Bean last model ROM with no FM, no HDMI and totally unestable, I think the Xperia Neo can grant a good ICS experience and that' what I'm looking for).
Also this post too is for knowing if there are other people with my battery problems on Xperia Pureness.
Hey people.
Well i have a little problem, i went back to the stock eclair version but the battery is a little worse than GB.
Some say that is possible to make Eclair more battery life than GB with some steps.
I tried to do some steps that were shown to me in my other thread:
Jit-enabler
CWM-Installer
X10Mini Undervolt module
Root-Explorer
Remove Apps
I did this on 2.1.1.c.0.0, but the battery started to become Unstable and Hot, that's why i downgraded now to 2.1.1.a.0.6 and hoping that anyone knows how to help me in this one.
So question is: how to get the most battery out of my Eclair in XPeria Mini Pro x10?
Good answers will deserve a Thanks Press Button

u better try custom roms than original x10 mini pro..
why?
-undervolt is great but ur phone will be slower (dont u knw u20i is a low end devices?)
-remove systems apps could make another problem.. (fc there & here)
-using "link2sd" is great way to save phone memory problems.

I don't think there's difference at all, i've been testing today the stock 2.1.1.a.0.6 with many apps removed, rooted, with 480mhz/122mhz min with SetCpu.
In the results i've obtain today i notice 3 things:
1 - Undervolt isn't worth it, in GB i used only 3 days to test it and the battery life was the same as not having undervolt at all, besides it makes the phone worse. ( well i don't see this phone as a low end, i see this phone as an almost perfect one, it has a good camera/good sound/stable, so what more do i need? just because it doesn't have Original a 2.3 android with 1000mhz processor and stuff? What is the point of having a phone with such power if the sound/camera/stuff isn't good enough?. This is the only phone that never get me problems for going to repair, and the material that this phone is made is very good, the paint doesn't damage and in general nothing is damaged, it's always like it's brand new and that is amazing, this phone is no low end, it's an underrated device. I only use this phone for "calls, sms and listen music", battery lasts me 3 days using this )
2 - Removing apps is safe to do, as long as you know what you're doing, for me it went well because today i had no force closes or problems.
Just an add: don't need app2sd/link2sd and stuff like that, i only use the basics of the phone ( music, calls, sms ).
3 - And this one is the blockbuster: For everyone who thought that GB was better in battery life than the original Eclair, well think again...
This time i only made the steps: stock 2.1.1.a.0.6 with "many" apps removed, rooted, with 480mhz/122mhz min with SetCpu, without undervolts and stuffs like that.
And the results were: The very "same" battery life than GB roms. That's right mate 'and all people who is seeing this', Today i'm testing it and right now i'm still with 78% battery life ( phone is on for about 21 Hours now ), what is the very same amount of battery i used to have with GB roms about now.
So for everyone who is afraid of going back to Original Stock Eclair, don't be afraid, because it's the very same as GB roms in battery life but it's even more stable and secure. All you have to do is those steps i already mentioned above and you're good to go , but... if you want to use your phone with apps that only work on 2.3 Android or if you like to Customize your Rom then just Stick with Gb roms and you're good to go 2 , just make sure you're using Gingersony V06 ( with led fix ) because it's the most stable rom out there and you're good to go .
Well i think this subject is Closed now. Thanks
Hey guys. I have been using this site for a while and have just made a new account. I look forward to some helpful chaps
PHONE: GALAXY ACE GT-S5830
I have installed 4 different types of Cyanogenmod (CM 10.1 Pro, etc.) and have found a problem. Even after battery calibration (thank google play ) i have always received severe battery drain. Eg. I would leave my phone on charge overnight. In the morning I would wake up and I could basically watch it go down like a timer. About 2 minutes after unplugging the phone it would have gone down to 81%, even without using the phone!
I know this isn't the ROM's fault since it has happened on numerous ROM's, as I said.
Also, after it reaches about 20% it sometimes slows down the drainage.
I don't get this problem on the stock ROM. I really want to use the stock ROM and UI (TW) cause its got many features, but wanna keep Jellybean cause of BBM for Android coming out soon. If there is any type of ROM which looks just like the original Stock ROM for SGA but with JB installed, could someone please point me in the right direction for it?
Many Regards & looking forward to a ahppy community, HelloMrBrandon. :highfive:
Update: BTW I know I shouldn't post Q&A here. But I couldn't find the right spot for them. Sooooorrryyyyy!

Hello to all of you!
I have a question, i have xperia ray and its battery is bloated, i am suspecting that it causes bootloop whenever and whatever ROM i installed. of course i can follow instructions provided by the developers and successfully implement to my live with walkman. i think that bloated battery is the cause, is there anybody experience it or can testify this matter
thanks!
solved: we recently purchase a new battery and test it. positive to be the cause of bootlooping is the bloated battery. i think that the battery is faulty when it comes to the power needed to the system
