so I heard about ROM FoxHound for SGS3 that the RAM doesnt get higher than 400mb when working with this Rom!
im using stock s3 and my ram goes up to 667MB which is lretty low because I got the international version of s3.
so what is this foxhound Rom? how can I install it? and is it better from stock? what are the advantages and disadvantages?
sorry for long post and many questions.
thanks

What reason you state not to use it??

You need to have at least 3 charge cycles before you can experience the difference.
Yes when I first got my s3 the battery was pretty bad compared to iPhone 4. But do the cycles and find a good rom and it's a whole nother world. I suggest read a lot here and watch YouTube vids

Depends on what all you have activated and what all is running in the background. Switch off gps, auto sync, auto sync is the main cause of battery drain, also turn off wifi and 3g data when not in use, standby time on idle should be 1% drain in 2-3 hours as per the latest firmware LG8, im getting full day battery with normal usage with screen time of 4-5 hours...

Your rom is fine... Just use it for couple of days and you will see the difference. By the way, turn off gps if not in use and turn off NFC. Also turn off any gesture you don't use at all.

And another question, does omega use a custom kernel to improve battery life?
Hello.

ask faryaab from here or sammobile.com i think he would know if 3 part fw is aviable
So let me get this straight you didnt do the i9305 backup properly, so then some thing went wrong and you lost your imei. And then you tried to repair it with a i9300 efs ??

hahaha I love that bit of your signature .... you know what Its funny how some of i9300 users hate us talking about how the i9305 is better then the i9300 in a few different ways, they get so angry and envious it makes me laugh. Idiots
The only thing they can come up with is ohh ohh well that device doesnt have as much support! well i guess they are right for now but Id really like to prove them wrong so come on guys lets try port as much as we can over haha and the more users we have the more support will get, so if more people get enticed to get this device because they starting to see the dev support is growing... well the quicker the support will grow
But anyway like you said my stock rom runs smoother then my favourite tweaked up nandroid i had on my I9300, which was Foxhound rom haha.
And right now I am close to tweaking my rom as close to that... so just imagine how smooth its running now
Do you guys have your devices rooted sucessfully w CF root? bc all i really need is root. we are working on porting a (edit) heavily tweaked v of cm10 currently

Hello
This is my first attempt at rooting a phone and even though I managed to narrow down the kernels I could use to 2, I figured it wouldn't hurt to consult people with more experience at this just to make sure I'm making the right choice.
I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100 bought from Estonia.
My phone's kernel version is as follows:
3.0.15-I9100XWLP7[email protected]#3
Now, as I understood the bold part is what I need to pay attention to when picking the kernel I'm going to use. I searched Chainfire's thread according to the understanding I have and found two between which one is probably the one I'm looking for.
Which of these two should I be looking at (and what's the difference between the two, are they the correct ones?) :
CF-Root-SGS2_DX_XTC_LP7-v5.4-CWM5.zip
CF-Root-SGS2_XW_XEN_LP7-v5.4-CWM5.zip
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Why is that?
I read that CF-Root is great if the user is looking for a original-like experience and that it is also very easy to install.
I was planning on rooting the phone and looking into Rootbox jb 4.1.2. What I'm currently looking for is a decent jelly bean rom and rootbox seemed like a good choice. As I understood installing rootbox on a phone with CF-Root shouldn't pose any problems?
Another one I found interesting is WanamLite. Any suggestions in terms of which jb rom for everyday use would be the safest choice for a newbie like me would be greatly appreciated.
You have try them yourself, that's the best way to see what fits you the most.
EDIT: But i'd go with WanamLite because I don't like PA (ParanoidAndroid) based roms like Rootbox.
There are various ways to root using .zip or .tar files, its just what you fancy.
Im happy using GB for now......but I'll give stock JB a try when its out for UK.

it is a LEAK as you said. it consumes heavy ram as it is a beta firmware and hence lagging is common. try using GREENIFY if the phone is rooted.
