My phone won't boot after MIUI install... - Motorola Droid RAZR

Hi...
While I was searching through forum I found something what was called 'BootMenu manager', so I thought I'll install MIUI as a second system. So I downloaded MIUI 2.7.27 version and Polish language pack to this, copied into external SD card and installed both from the BootMenu recovery:
I toggled into second system recovery,
I chose install .zip from sdcard (I don't remember that exactly)
chose MIUI 2.7.27 system
and then Polish language pack
And then, after reboot, I thought I'll have an access to either boot from MOTO ROM or MIUI ROM, but...
I got such a screen (in attachment)
Now I don't even have a solution how to turn off my phone...
I'd like to go back to Motorola stock ROM... Please, help!

Hi,
I've already repaired my system (XT910, EU - NonEFIGS) with RSD Lite, EternityProject fastboot package and AP Fastboot mode. vol down + power restarts phone so I had got to the same stage as earlier. The problem is, I set in recovery to make changes in 2nd system and the changes are being done to the 1st system. I must research the forum once again and see what have I done wrong.

Oh sorry mate..can't hell u then..probably ask Pedro from Eternity Project itself...

[HOWTO] CM7

Since the section's becoming a bit messy I'll explain the complete (and fast) procedure to get CM7 on your mini and mini pro
As usual I presume you know what you are doing and I really suggest to read the all tuto before start. Moreover you should realize that you'll lose almost all SE native stuff (camera app, music player, timescape,etc...see here nevertheless )
3 steps are required :
I. Unlock your bootloader
There are 2 ways :
-The software way : approved by SE, may lose warranty, definitely lose drm (tip: don't dl the all andro sdk as required by SE, just use the fastboot package below)
http://unlockbootloader.sonyericsson.com/instructions (detailed steps here (part A)
-The hardware way : keep drm, may lose warranty too
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1285285
Click to collapse
II. Install the recovery
You have to use the fastboot command and flash a modified boot.img provided in FXP kang version (in official CM from version 7.1.0.1 too)
1. Download your device's version http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1226715
2. If you used the Hardware way to unlock your bl, download fastboot package from here http://www.multiupload.com/BMJ24IL6XY and extract it on your computer, if you used the Software way, you already have these files, you can skip this step
3. Extract the boot.img from (1.) to your flashboot folder just created
4. Dl the android driver provided by SE here http://unlockbootloader.sonyericsson.com/downloadinf.zip
5. Shut down your phone, then holding VOL+ button plug the usb to your pc
6. Wait til windows show the popup of "installing new hardware" and point to the drivers folder. Once done you are in fastboot mode (blue led)
7. Open a cmd from your fastboot folder on the pc (holding shift and right clicking at the same time)
8. Enter "fastboot flash boot boot.img" (without the "" ^^)
9. 5s later you must see a ok in the cmd window, you're done

III. Flash CM
2 options again, the official way or the kanged FXP
A_If you want the official CM, download your device's version here :
CM (for mini) : http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=smultron
CM (for mini pro) : http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=mango
Then the Gapps : http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Latest_Version#Google_Apps
1. Put both files on your SD card, reboot the phone and when it start, keep pushing the VOL- button til you get into the recovery (Navigate with vol and menu button, get back with power)
2. "Wipe data/factory reset" then in advanced "Wipe dalvik cache"
3. "Install zip from Sd card", flash cm, then gapps
4. Reboot and voila
Click to collapse
B_If you want the kanged version from FXP (original dev):
Extract the zip files from the previously FXP download and flash it the same way as above
FXP's version can be slightly more advanced and optimized than the official since his versions are first provided on xda, then through official CM

I'll edit this topic soon with more details and requests if needed
Of course a huge thx to FXP for porting CM to xperias and DooMLoRD for his general dev support!
Will try CM7.0.1 on my device soon but I read about three bugs in the CM7.1.0 has it been resolved ??
Thanks for the tutorial
Not yet but for the mini, it's small bugs...not really annoying
One more thing, is it possible to revert back to the previous rom ??
Sure, you can nandroid or simply go back to stock with an original firmware and flashtool
sorry if this is the wrong area for this post but since i can't post on dev area yet i put it here:
1- this is my first android phone and i like it more now with CM7
2- keyboard bug is not that big of a deal
3- backlight issue already fixed
4- hope they fix the camera and flash issue soon
now with my issue (which is why i mentioned the dev area before), there seems to be a problem, at least i had it, with CM7 and pin locked sims, i had to go back to stock rom to unlock it because CM7 just wouldn't accept my pin, i gues i'll have to keep it pin unlocked and wait to see if it's a bug or just had bad luck, anyway i'm getting back on CM7 as we speak, so just for precaution i suggest you unlock your sim before you go into CM7, but like i said, maybe it was just me (although, i believe i saw someone with this problem in dev area).
great ROM and thanks to the developers for the great job.
I have a mini without simlock and cm keeps asking me to unlock every reboot (even I can enter my pin), I just cancel and no problem. This sim problem will be fixed soon for sure

i was able to use CM7 too by canceling the request of pin at the startup, but i had no gsm signal, it said there was no sim inserted or something about the sim being locked, can't remember which one but it just wouldn't accept my pin even from the settings menu; everything else was working just fine (except for the known issues ).

What don't you understand ?
Recovery Part Explained
If you have installed cm rom to backup the existing system then to restore completely to the present state just the backup will not work you have to flash back the same existing rom for it to work again. I switched to cm7.1.0.1 and then back to rooted stock kernel
Just the restore didn't work for me until I flashed the original rom. So now I am back to rooted SE kernel . Waiting for all the bugs to be fixed before I switch to CM

Hi.
I want to get back to stock rooted SE kernel too. I think that I have to follow these steps:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16659481&postcount=33
Do I have to flash boot.img (SE kernel rooted) first, then firmware?... Or, what's the order?. firmware then kernel?.
Thanks in advance.
I assume u are right now in cm with free xperia rom and had taken a backup with cm rom. In that case restore using the cwm and then flash the rom which you had flashed before installing cm7.1.0 .
I didn't flash firmware just did the restore and flashed the previous rom which Ihad. It worked for me

How to flash Deodex Rom 408 on Dell Venue??

Hello Guys,
I am new here. My name is Christian. I ordered a Dell Venue by my Uncle in Maryland for use in Germany. Last week I got the phone.
Today I flashed Android 2.3.3 from this Tutorial of "michaeljwestiii". GB is running great, but I can choose only Korean and English (Language).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...4&postcount=45
The User TheManiii released International Versions included many other Languages like German, Vietnamese etc.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1416537
My Problem: What does he mean with "normal Pkg."? How can I flash his "Deodex Rom"? Could I flash his Deodex GB 408 Rom with an Olleh PKG of michaeljwestiiis Tutorial? I dont find a "normal 408" Rom for the Dell Venue!
A normal system.img is one imagefile, but his Rom is 2 Files and one image. How Can I flash this Rom on my Dell Venue?
Many thanks to all who can help me.
Best regards and have a nice day

Guten Tag Christian,
Flash the deoxed 408 file found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1416537 - the 408 base v1 zip. After that, flash the international language pack found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1469908.
Hello Mike,
thanks for the links. I download these 2 files, but how can I flash these zip files? The venue233 file of your own Tut was easy to flash with adb in fastboot mode, but how can I flash this zip file?
TheManiii said, that I need a normal PKG before I flash Deodex 408. But what is a normal PKG?`Could I use the Olleh PKG of your own tutorial?

Hello Christian,
I think I see the problem, have you loaded Clockworkmod? That will let you flash the zip files. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1423002 The Olleh PKG from my tutorial is the normal 408 package that the deoxed version is flashed over.
Hello Mike,
So should I install your "normal PKG." again or is it enough that I flash Deodex 408?
I have "installed" cwm 5.5.0.4 succesfull in adb, but how can I open cwm? Power + Vol -? If I make this, I join only the fastboot mode

You do not need to install the normal pkg again. To get into cwm, switch the mute to OFF (red shows), press both volume buttons down and the power button all at the same time. When the dell logo shows, release the power button but keep pressing the volume buttons until the screen goes dark. You will then see a menu with 3 options, choose the middle one to upgrage SW package and choose with the camera button. The screen will flash, then the blue CWM menu will load.
To flash the deoxed and language zips, Press the volume down button to go to "install zip from sdcard" and press the camera button to select. Next press the camera button again to select the "choolse zip from sdcard" choice. Then use the volume buttons and camera button to navigate to the deoxed zip. Then follow the prompts to flash the file, then exit and reboot. Do the same thing to flash the language file.
Thanks Mike,
I joined the blue cwm menu, but I cant choose anything. I dont see the update.pkg or the zip files.
The files are 100% on my SD Card. What could it be?
EDIT: Now I used an app named "rom manager" I choose the Deodox Zip and flash it.
How Can I check, if the Deodox flash was succesfull?
Edit 2: Deodox isnt flashed. I dont know, why. I cant choose anything in cwm .
Use a file manager to check the system partition. If the deox flash was successful, you should not see any files ending in .odex.
It wasnt successful.
I cant join the cwm. I push Power on and the 2 two Volume Buttons, but I come only in an "Android system recovery utility" Menu. <--- There I cant choose anything.
I flashed the Clockwork mod 5.5.0.4 recovery.img, and the cmd says, that it is succesfull.

If it still says Android system recovery utility, then CWM didn't really get flashed. All I can really say is try again, it does work. Maybe TheManii will drop by with a suggestion or two.
No chance, I've tried everything. No clue what it is. I probably seem to be the one with the problem
Guys!
Its running, after 11 hours of testing!
CWM was not running, because Manii named cwm like 5.5.4.0. I renamed the image into recovery.img, so my problem was fixed.
Thanks to Mike for help
All in all its faster than Froyo.
Anybody knows what this mean?
"android.process.acore"
The Venue shows this Bug after restart...
Glad you got it to work. The android.process.acore error always came up for me on the Olleh GB build, though it didn't seem to affect anything. The MIUI and CM7 builds do not appear to have that error.
Yes ok, than it should be no problem. It works.
I hope ICS will come too in a few months. CM7 and MIUI based on 2.3.3? Could I switch to German Language?
CM7 definately supports German, I am pretty sure MIUI does too.
Great, I will test it.
Thanks Mike

Problem with CM9

Hey guys, so I downloaded cm9 and tried to install it on my phone.
I got it from this link and also followed the video tutorial there: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1500234
I had rooted my phone and had CWM recovery v5.0.2.6
Now when I try to reboot, there is just an blue screen.
I did exactly like in the video, I tried 2 times. Still it didn`t work. Please help. Could someone provide any step by step instructions other than the video?
Thanks.
I think you needed to use with CWM 5+
Try to get back into CWM and root your old ROM.
I am very bad at this... So I dont really know how to do that... could you provide any steps or an tutorial?
Edit:well I tried to format sd card and system but nothing. Could someone provide a link to gingerbread 2.3.5 and a way Icould put it on my phone? Also, could I do anything with samsung kies?

NO NO. Don't use kies. Kies sucks a lot. Search the developer forum for "clockworkmod 5" flash it normally (I suppose you already know how-to since you have CWM4) after getting CWM5, flash ICS/CM9 Normally. no need to flash GB
Here is cwm 5

Ughh I forgot to root my phone right after flashing. So I installed CWM before rooting.. how do I root now? And also I think it is still not working. The phone has been blue for about 2 minutes now. I followed the video exactly like it was.
EDIT: damn... so after getting the blue screen again I thought of going back to normal ver and maybe some other custom ROM... but guess what.... It doesnt work anymore... I did just like before.Went into download, used ODIN to download 2.3.5 french ver to my phone, odin says PASS. But last time It had booted correctly by 4:40 or so. This time like 10 minutes have passed and still rebooting. What to do now?
EDIT2: Am I allowed to make a new thread since the problem is not with cm9 anymore?

download it and flash it through stock recovery
i dont think you need to root it before flashing this (i didnt)
i just flashed this over the stock rom (non rooted) and then flashed cm7.2
i too had such problems but dont worry flash some stock rom with odin then it wont boot so remove your battery and place it again.now go to stock recovery wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition then reboot.then use cwm 5 to flash cm 9.

Well. That white menu is called BOOTLOADER. Just so you know for the future.
Don't panic, it is not bricked .
First thing to do:
1.Shut down the phone completely.
2. Turn on your phone by holding down the buttons: Home + Power. -> This will lead you to your favorite recovery (AmonRA or CWM?)
3. When you are in recovery, go to the menu that says - "Wipe".
4. Wipe this things:
Data/cache
Dalvik cache
Sdcard ext (if having one).
Battery
Rotation settings
^ basically select to wipe everything that's in the respective menu.
5. Download a custom rom that suits you best.
6. Place that rom on the root of your sdcard (don't put it in a folder or whatever, just copy paste it in the sdcard).
7. Flash your rom
8. Reboot
9. Wait until the lights on the buttons goes on -> this is a sign that everything is working and the phone will boot every second.
10. Congrats
Oh, don't forget, some roms have lower boot times, so be patient when booting for the first time (it might take a few minutes).
Hit me back if this doesn't help you or you are having trouble!

Ok:
You are in the recovery
Put your phone in usb mode (from recovery, hit the usb-ms toggle).
Go to MyComputer.
Select your sdcard - right click on it - FORMAT
Select the Fat16 or Fat32 format (not NTFS).
I suggest Fat16.
You can check the "Quick Format" since you don't have anything on it.
After it is done formatting, copy paste again your rom. -> MAKE SURE THAT IT IS COPIED CORRECTLY (leave it 2-3 minutes after it is finished copying).
Go to your computer
Right click on the SD CARD and hit "EJECT".
Now on your phone, press any button to go to the recovery menu.
Flash the rom.
It should be ok now.
That problem was because the rom was not copied completely or you have your sdcard in NTFS format. If the problem still persist, please redownload your rom. This problem might as well appear if the download was not completed correctly.
Hope this helps you. Cheers!
NOTE: ALWAYS FLASH ROMS THAT ARE INTENDED FOR YOUR PHONE -> HTC HERO.
DON'T FLASH ROMS THAT ARE FOR ANOTHER PHONE BECAUSE YOU WILL BRICK THE DEVICE!!!
I am current in Android System Recovery screen. Flashed Ice Patch v3
Everything is OK!
Install from sdcard is complete
Should I now Reboot system and be patient?

Because that is not a ROM, didn't you saw that it is too small to be a ROM???
A rom has from 60mb to 250 mb... That had 6 mb or so... try this one
before flashing it again, WIPE EVERYTHING! because you flashed some things and if you flash the rom on top of that, it will not work.
so download that rom,
put it on sd card
wipe everything from recovery
flash the rom
reboot
enjoy.
don't forget to search the same thread for news and other versions of the rom. Right now it is v3 but in short time it will be v3.5!
Cheers
I have got access to the phone now thanks so much, ROM is nice too
Only immediate problem is that my phone is saying no sim card and no service

Glad it worked .
Happy flashing dude!
Don't forget: always, ALWAYS, Wipe everything before you flash any other rom!!!!!
And also, it is good (if you change the rom to anything else) to go to your sdcard and delete these folders:
.Trash
Android
data
.android_secure (if you have one)
Lost.DIR
Just some feedback
When trying to access YouTube I find an error message: Invalid network response format. Do you have any idea how to fix it?
Also in "about phone" it says it is Android Version 2.3.7 but I can't download application such has BBC I Player, is this a problem everyone has?

[Q] Help:"Big mistake" Bricked my XT910 after installed custom rom in stock rom slot

[Q] Help:"Big mistake" Bricked my XT910 after installed custom rom in stock rom slot
Hi..
I know this was really a stupid act but I did it (may be) out of frustration :crying: Actually my little cousin sister got my phone locked after she tried too many wrong attempts on my pattern locked phone. Being new to this rooting and custom rom stuff, I tried to contact my friend (X) who is good at this but couldn't reach him so finding no other way out I decided to do it myself by looking for the possible solutions on the Internet.
As my phone was already rooted (by my friend X ) I did enter into the safestrap v3.11 and tried few things (please don't ask what coz i was travelling at that time and desperately wanted my phone up and running asap).
While browsing through the files I found a cm10.1 zip file which I remember, my friend had installed in my phone few months back. Mistakenly thinking that I got the solution, I went for Install option and swiped that cm 10.1 zip file only to find the message that the phone would not boot if the custom rom is installed in any slot but slot1. With no undo option, I rebooted after which my phone is getting stucked after safestrap, in a limbo status.
Afterwards, I decided to do a factory reset to delete the custom rom from the stock rom slot and wiped the cache and dalvik, thinking i'll do a fresh installation of an old stock rom backup zip file which I found after 2 days, which my friend had saved in my laptop. But even then, my phone is getting stucked after the safestrap screen shows up.
1. Please tell me what should I do to successfully boot my stock rom back in the stock rom slot.
2. Also, for safety purpose I had taken a backup using the Backup option in the Safestrap, which contains all my info which I had, when my phone was running. But don't know how to get those data and apps back from this Safestrap backed up folder
PLEASE Help me !!! I'll never ever do such a mistake.
I'm having this exactly problem. I installed CM in slot1 using safestrap, but lost my stock ROM. Now i flashed a ROM using RSD Lite and my phone is boot loop.
Sent from my GT-N8000 using xda app-developers app
When bootlooping after rsd, go to stock recovery and do the factory reset and clear cache
For op: grab the right rsd files, charge ur razr in fastboot mode for 2 hours or more, then flash it via rsd
Tapped from my RazR
here some hints to instal and return to the 4.1.2 Jelly Beam on the razr
For flash a 4.1.2 you have to use rds lite 6.0
Also you need to install the usb drive otherways your razr will not connect perfectly
Start
Turn off (power botton and vol -)
Let it charge a little bit (half battery will be ok)
enter recovery mode (power vlo- vol+)
go in ap fastboot using vol - and power for confirm
decompress the file (called Rom) you want to flash (in a folder and rename as you like)
launch the rds (remember install mototrala driver)
search the folder where you extract the rom and double click on .xlm file
plug the phone in pc,wait few seconds (10)
click on start
wait
done
some link

Thanks Vallerino WR for the explanation (button already pressed )... but i still have a few doubts...
first of all.. the links are not working
moreover,
1. By motorola drivers you mean Motorola Device Manager software right ?
(which i downloaded from this link: https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/88481/action/auth )
2. This one is a kind of stupid question but please tell me what is the relationship between RSD software and this Motorola drivers software ?
3. And the most important one (for me), actually the backup i have, is the one i had created by "Safestrap > Backup" option with the name
stock-stock-2013-11-08 and this folder contains the following 4 files:
i). data.ext3.win
ii). data.ext3.win.md5
iii). system.ext3.win
iv). system.ext3.win.md5
By fastbooting with this backup folder, will I be able to get my phone in the same fine status as it was on the creation date with all the apps PLUS data that were there in my phone ?
I got this doubt after seeing your one of the steps:
"decompress the file (called Rom) you want to flash (in a folder and rename as you like)"
bcoz my backup isn't in a zip format, as we can see it was created by Safestrap as a folder with the above mentioned 4 files. so what do we mean by decompress ? please tell..

Anyone PLEASE help me out by telling is it possible to restore the Stock rom backup made from the "Safestrap > Backup" option ???
As I have already admitted, I did the mistake of flashing custom rom cm 10.1 into the Stock rom slot. But after that I have cleared the Cache and did factory reset to !! Currently the problems are :
1. When I am going for the Safestrap > Restore option, it is not showing my backed-up folder (stock-stock-2013-11-08) containing the 4 files, there.
2. Even if I am trying to flash a few month old stock rom zip file (which i had taken by Titanium Backup pro), it is getting stuck after the Safestrap screen shows up..
PLEASE somebody help me...!! I have all my data in that backup which i don't have access to anymore... consequently i m not installing any new apps or anything hoping someone will surely show me the way...

You cannot restore backup into stock slot.
What you can do is flash the stock ROM (fastboot files) using RSDLite. After doing so, your phone will be in factory state, meaninng as you bought it new. No user apps, No Safestrap, No root etc.
You'll have to start from scratch. After successful flashing, you can restore your apps & data from Titanium Backup (a month old file).
Also, You cannot flash a Titanium Backup zip with Safestrap. And stop trying random stuff, you might brick your phone for good.
Hope its all clear now.

the relation is easy,if you don't have the motorola drivers you cannot connect the phone with rds lite and flash (install) any files
don't use the safestrap backup, you can only restore with safestrap and don't try to flash with the recovery
decompres mean extract all the files from a zip folder,in the case your rom (system) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2231289
