Place in the respective places in your AOSP branch of choice and build. In CM9 I have:
Working:
Radio
Wifi
GPS
G sensor/accelerometer
Compass
Vibration
Sound
Microphone
Light/prox sensor
USB mounting
Cameras
Not working:
Bluetooth headset
If you fix something please send a pull request back to me.
Good luck have fun

New build box fund:
Goal reached. Thanks everyone!!
What I ordered: AMD FX-8120 + 16GB DDR3 (2x 8GB) + cheap board + cheap graphics card

I will try to get the CM9 source to download (I have tried about 10 times w/o luck) and take a look at this! We all appreciate your hard work.

Yes. I pulled in and based it on some JB stuff. Makes it easier in the future. HTCVigorQualcommRIL will probably disappear eventually. JB seems to have the right idea where radio stuff is headed by separating SIM states from radio states .

If someone has a lot of spare time to and a fast build machine It would be really great if you could go through the vendor files and figure out which prebuilt libs we can get rid of and build from source instead. I'm sure there's a ton of stuff in there that's not necessary.

Ive booted up with CM9 and its so amazing. AMAZING work chad and dmeadows. I get Roaming Indicator On, but according to twitter you guys get that too. Wonder if thats normal?
Edit -
AOKP M6 from DMeadows here: http://t.co/5dyljWG1

The roaming indicator problem should be fixed now thanks to joelz

How long did the 4G dropout take? I have been running aokp for a little while now and using data like a mad man and haven't broke a strong 4G signal yet. No roaming issues either.

Porting cm7! Who is down?!

Hopefully we will haz it soon, but back on topic.
Iv been playing with a cm7 rom for the last couple days I need someone to help me with writing and repackaging the zImage and ramdisk . Iv got a pretty good idea of how to get this fully working without having to create an entire update.zip each time.
Reply or PM me about what you think, if you wanna help beta test, or can help me out in the coming days. I'm sure with the knowledge of an extremely talented dev this can be accomplished

I'm no dev either, but I will help beta test as well. Believe me I don't know what is worse, waiting for CM7 to be ported or continuing to use this sense 3.0. Anything that will get CM7 to the 3v0 quicker, count me in!
i would start by checking code on the OG evo of course the system and drivers are going to be different but it be a nice starting point for relevance

Reverse engineer cdma/lte driver?

RIL requires us to figure out how to get the data to work on sense devices via the cdma lte radio driver. Now that the full binaries are open source for vzw galaxy nexus via aosp, could we not build a driver for our rezound? Just trying to think over here!
http://mobile.theverge.com/2012/7/1...project?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
The hardware is different therefore so would the drivers.
From what I've read, the RIL is as far as it can go until the ICS kernel source is released.

He's probably using the ril fix...
We need Chad to make the kernel because the ril fix we have now makes the pmem overflow(not enough alloted).
Because of this Chad is building a kernel ported from holiday and has to change the ril a little bit to fix it.
Hmm you're right, the RIL is the problem. All the devs just keep complaining and saying we need kernal source, clearly ril is the problem.

Actually it's mostly users copying what protekk said if you pay attention.
I've only seen a few devs say they need kernel source, and they only said it will make it easier not suddenly fix all problems with ril like protekk implied

But he didn't lie. The kernel really needs more pmem. I have run the kernel and it keeps crashing and the log message says it needs more pmem
The Thunderbolt had source for ages...and it took forever for a stable MIUI port to be released because of the RIL. The RIL is not a part of the source code. To my understanding, it's "wired" into the libs, buildprop, framework, etc. In this case, ours is based off of Sense, not AOSP (if that makes any, well, sense.)
Like I said, to my understanding lol.

Building a working kernel without source isn't impossibly difficult. It has been done on several devices, including the Rezound. The Anthrax GB kernel is not built from HTC source, for example.
The RIL, would be much harder to reverse engineer without HTC Source code, but again not totally impossible either, just nearly so... We don't need the kernel source, we need the Android source from them. This will contain the source for HTC's Sense implementation of RIL, and give developers the information they need to reverse engineer a working AOSP RIL.

True. But its not really the drivers that we need. The drivers are actually included in the "radio" packages that come with new firmware updates. What RIL is, is basically the bit of software that lies in between the radio drivers and the Android OS API's and stuff.
In other words, we have working drivers for the radios. What we need is the part that allows Android to interface properly with those radio drivers. But these parts are also often proprietary as I understand it...

[REQ] [ROM] PacMan ROM?

http://www.xda-developers.com/android/pacman-rom-for-the-samsung-galaxy-nexus/
ive been seeing this on the xda homepage on and off for a while and it seems like a pretty bada$$ ROM, combinding settings from CM10, AOKP, and Paranoid.
I just wanted to throw this out there for any devs or potential devs that may be interested with impending releases of JB roms for our rezzys

Yea, this rom looks like it would be amazing and it would get rid of the need to decide between CM10 and AOKP.
Edit: I think i might try something with this. I found the github for the pacman rom. Note that i have little to no experience with building a rom so i probably will fail.

If any devs see this and would like to give me pointers that would be much apperciated. :fingers-crossed:
Edit: Doing a repo sync right now.

Well when i looked at it i think it was BluetoothMnmSms.java or something like that. I also couldnt repo sync until i deleted that file and some other ones. If you want i can try to build again and give you a log of it.
There's going to be more involved than just pulling repos and brunching. We'll need to set up a pac_vigor build target for our phone because the cm_vigor target only builds the CM10 parts. I'm just playing it by ear at this point, but I'm not going to be able to mess with it any more today.

We have to mod some makefiles and make a device specific makefile and overlay. It should all be in the vendor tree..mostly in vendor/pac/ and vendor/pa/. I've made progress, but I still don't have it building.
For the record, the way I'm planning for this to work is if I get it working, I'll send it to my S-ON tester to make sure it works. Once that's established, I'll flash it myself to make sure it doesn't brick S-OFF. Then, I'll send out a few more PM's for testing and push my new vendor tree to github. When all is said and done, I'll get up with the PAC-Man team and see if we can get permission to release this thing publicly (once we also have permission from Chad to release his JB stuff as well).
If anyone else gets it working before me, I'd recommend a similar procedure...we don't need any bricks coming out of this if we can help it. There shouldn't be any since we're using Chad's JB device trees, but you can't be too safe.
Update: I think I have it. It's building now. I'll hopefully be able to get a test build out to my S-ON tester this evening.

[Q] Car bluetooth media streaming

Anyone using the EVOLTE to stream music to their cars head unit and getting track information/cover art to the head unit? If so, what ROM are you using?
I have tried stock, OMJ, CM10, and CM10.1 ROMs. CM10 is giving me track information but no album art. All of the others only play the media with no track info and no cover art. Also, CM 10 only works with Apollo as the media player and not with any other players. Apparently the ROM needs to support AVRCP 1.3. The EVO 4G LTE only supports AVRCP 1.0 according to bluetooth.org. With the phone having Bluetooth 4.0 the hardware will support AVRCP 1.3 or 1.4.
I have a 2013 Ford Escape with MyFord Touch.
Thanks!
Would love to know this as well, I have never got any info on my JVC head unit. Used to run Mean Rom and now MeanBean.
Anyone know how to upgrade the needed files. I would give money for that to be fixed.

I do have some patches from CAF for this, however not sure if it works. Also these patches would only work on aosp since you would be changing source files not precompiled files.

So what do you suggest? And, no way to fix it in sense? Or is that just heavy coding?

Honestly I've never done much with sense roms not saying it can't work. Maybe one of the sense rom devs would have a better idea.

Well, if you decide you wanna tackle this I'm down to help in whatever way I can. I assume the new release coming out will have it. So maybe there's a place to grab the needed files from? But, either way contact me and ill dig into it with some help and guidance....

Are these patches in Komodo? Or are they available elsewhere?
Thanks

No, these are the additions that need to be made in source. It's why I don't think it can be done in sense but maybe it's some xml editing could do it
