*Wi-fi And Bluetooth* HARDWARE ISSUE! Please help! - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all, I suddenly had a problem which causes wifi and bluetooth stop working. What happens is;
When I click turn on wifi button, 'Error' message shows up under the button in order to turned on or connecting after 5-10 seconds.
And when I click turn on bluetooth it only loops, turn on, turn on, but never turns on.
I seached a lot in the web and in XDA, there is nothing to solve the problem. My warranty is over and I switched my country. I have to fix it by myself.
I watched this video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYz_RiuFVRk&feature=youtu.be
that French guy is solving the problem which I have. But everyone says that it solves the problem temporary. I have to solve it permanently.
IS THERE SOMEONE who know how to solve the problem, and what should be done? I can try anything to solve it.
please do not say that, do factory reset, full wipe, try another rom, flash radio.... etc. BECAUSE I have done all. I'm pretty sure that it is a hardware problem.
Lots of people have this problem and this topic can help them too. THANKS!

Sadly I had the same problem, and the only information I could find was to flash it back to stock and etc. you've already read that and done it (as have I). If it doesn't work under stock conditions, it is a hardware problem, meaning the wifi/bluetooth chip is broken (unless for some miracle it is a stubborn software problem that nobody has figured out yet, but don't count on that). This is the case with my atrix. There is nothing we can do besides sending it back for repair, or somehow repairing it ourselves since our warranties are long expired.
I'm looking to get a new phone, since wifi is absolutely critical for me (200mb/month data plan). I am deeply saddened that I will lose my Atrix, it was truly an amazing phone. It happened to break right before the upcoming ICS update. I'm torn between Atrix HD ($50 at Costco online with a lot of extras thrown in for free, plus free activation.) and the HTC one x (80 with less goodies, free activation) I would go SG3, but that is 200, and I'm leaning towards the htc 1x right now...

Thanks for your reply
Thank you so much for your answer. I guess it is a hardware problem too. But I have to fix it. In my country I dont know how to find someone who can fix it, because Motorola is not so common in here. Can I fix it by myself with someone's guidance? I'm planning to sell the phone after I fix it. I will be really appreciated if someone can help.

Has the information on finding if you have official warranty left and how to schedule a repair, about halfway down.

[Q] Touch Screen Lockup.PLEASE HELP!

Hi, im having a MAJOR problem with my HTC HD2. Every time i lock the phone, and turn it back on with the End button the touchscreen locks up and does not work. sometimes it goes on for hours, Unless i take out the battery which is getting quiet annoying..
I think its the New T-mobile Update, or could it be the HSPL? my friend said its software issues but im just not quiet sure, please help me!
DONT REPLY TO THIS THREAD, Instead, Reply here where me and others will post our ROM, Radio, and HSPL version.:

I had to send mine into HTC, and this is becoming a problem for many now, and it looks like it's growing. Try waking up with any other button besides the end key after a hard reset or battery pull, this is a temp fix at best, but occasionally it will still freeze. If under warranty I would suggest sending it in under repair and not mess with the new T-mobile update.
What am i supposed to do? Im using my Motorola RAZR until i find a fix or get a new phone which will be a very long time.
Hey,
I had the same issue, we should start tracking it so we find out a common problem, Try posting your HSPL version, rom, and radio in this forum and we can see if we can find a common solution.

[Q] Microphone not working

Hi, I'm a bit of a newbie to XDA, but I came across a problem which I browsed the forums and the internet for a few hours to solve to no avail. A few days ago I made a call to one of my friends who apparently couldn't hear anything from my side. I checked this over and restarted my phone a few times to see if that would fix it. Unfortunately the problem persisted, and when I tried to record any audio, all I would hear from the playback is noise. I assumed that it was a faulty flash of Trigger v2.8, but ODIN'ing back to stock didn't seem to fix the problem. I use the phone in Canada, and won't be visiting the US anytime soon, so I can't go to a T-Mobile booth to get it checked out. Is there anything I can do? Any help is greatly appreciated.
check settings and make sure you do not have anything off, that could happen, But if you can't resolve find a compatible kernel for your ROM and try flashing that. That usually will fix most problems.
Good luck
Thanks for the help, but I was unable to fix the problem using these methods. I'm starting to believe it is indeed a hardware problem, but I would want to receive some more input and where I should take it to be fixed if that's the case.

Caller cannot be reached issue, plz help.

Hi,
I really don't know what to do, hope you guys can help me.
I own a SGS2 for like four months now. More than a month ago it started to have this weird problem. The problem is i cannot be reached/called. The person who calls me is getting that message that i might have my phone turned off or out of area which my phone is not. I tried it myself keeping my SGS2 with full signal in one hand and calling me from my work mobile. The problem occurs very random and rarely, and i cannot reproduce it. The only thing i noticed it happends when i have wifi turned on and connected to a router. But this doesn't happend every time i am connected wifi. When this poblem occurs and i turn the wifi-off then i can be called, when it connects with Hsdpa.
Two other things i want to tell you. One is that my phone has never been rooted, it has stock ROM. And the other is that once i hot swaped between two sims.
Thank you in advance, every help is much appreciated.
No ideas? Anyone (
Your best bet is to contact your carrier as if you are fully stock they will be able to help you and if its a hardware problem replace the phone.
If you start flashing stuff from where you might void your warranty.
Thanks, but it is very hard for me to prove that it's faulty as it rarely does it and i cannot reproduce the problem. They will just test it a few times and then tell me everything it's oke, when it's not. Can it be a faulty SIM?

Might be, also i would check kies to see if there is a software update for you, maybe a newer baseband fixed something.
If you can get new sim cards, i would, see if that helps.

[Q] GPS problems

My phone has serious GPS issues. It usually takes about a minute to get a hot fix under ideal conditions, sometimes the phone would lose the fix or not get it at all. When I visited South America below the equator, the GPS didn't work at all. Once it even got me in a tense situation with a dishonest taxi driver. Since I noticed that problem several months ago I flashed ZV9 with factory reset, it didn't help. Is this a known problem?
wow... seriously no replies? I have had serious issues with my GPS as well. I have sent it to LG TWICE to fix the issue. I took screen caps and gave detailed evidence of the problem. I am still analyzing the latest "repair" they did but I am not so sure thus far.
I think this phone is just a POS.
The second time in for repair seems to be holding thus far. You may have to do the same with yours. Be explicitly clear of the problem and provide screen capture evidence (as I did). Otherwise, you may just have someone say they "fixed the camera" or something else that never had a problem.

LG, GPS test fail, repair - download new software. Sent in for wifi !!!!!

So i posted this in another thread and cant change the topic of it so ill just post this here and combine them with a little more attention on the gps part since there are issues with no results,
Heres what i posted before:
---->My LG G5 went back to LG. WIFI bluetooth dead
always leave wifi on over night. woke up and wifi and blue tooth dead. bluetooth turns on then turns off 2 seconds later. wifi hangs the phone and forever stays turning on wifi.
then i searched for att update and there was one little over 600mb. to bad i couldnt download it without wifi.
reset phone several times and restored to factory a few times and would never change. Reset the phone to factory final time before shipping and bluetooth actually turned on and worked. Wifi still dead
any history or this issue?
I had the phone for a whooping 2 months. I miss it. on a sony for now <-----
When i reset the phone for the last time before putting it in the box heading for LG, Bluetooth turned on and worked. Connected a device. BUT wifi still failed to turn on. it would just say turning on wifi and hang.
I get it back from LG and the slip says "symptom - GPS test fail" "repair - download new software"
im wishing right now that i had checked the gps before sending it out. Never had a problem that i seen with gps and i had been using it a couple times a week
LG devices
Hi there!
I had a similar problem on my G2. Have been doing a lot of google research lately, and I found out that there are a LOT of people out there with the same (or similar) problem. The tricky thing with this problem is the fact that it is very hard to tell if it is a software issue, a hardware issue, or a mixture of both.
Here are some links to youtube videos, you will recognize the effect immediately when you see it:

I've fixed the problem on my device, but I am still trying to track down details about the root cause of the problem. From all that I've seen and read through so far, I currently believe that the malfunction is caused by a defective solder joint between the WiFi/BT chip and the motherboard, which in it's turn may induce some consequent software issues, but no proof on that.
Further more, it seems to me that mainly LG devices are affected; it doesn't matter if it's a G2, G3, G4, G5 or Nexus etc., as long as LG is the manufacturer, it seems that the device is specially prone to this error. Probably LG has been using the same (error-prone) WiFi/BT chip for all their devices, I haven't gone into those details yet. On the other hand, the cumulation of these errors at LG could be pure coincidence and I could be completely wrong, of course.
The reason that leads me to assume it is the WiFi/BT chip is that, if you apply pressure on the chip (during operation), pushing it against the main board, the WiFi/BT functionality is restored; letting go will interrupt the function again.
Another thing I've been wondering, is how the solder joint gets broken in the first place. I know that I've dropped my device a few times; also, my WiFi/BT stopped working one fine morning, after recharging it over the night, as is happened with yours. I have several times noticed that the phone gets very warm, or even hot, when recharging. This leads me to believe that the defect is induced via mechanical or/and heat stress.
If you are interested, here is an incomplete list of stuff that I've tried until I finally was able to restore the functionality using some tape strips:

I am curious to know how your story carries on, keep us posted!
my story is ended pretty much with that lg g5. my wife decided to get off the samsung band wagon and get an lg g5 so i got a new one for free. Im just going to sell the repaired phone and hope for the best with the new ones.
I just cant understand why the paper work said gps test fail and the repair was download new software. I played with it and everything seemed to work again.
Tons and tons of people are having issues with gps. Could it be a hardware problem some people insist on or is it just a software update??????
Maybe they should recall these g5's and get us out of the business of being test dummies.

According to my carrier, Verizon, it is indeed a known hardware defect, and not software-related. I am having bluetooth dropping issues, too, and it's driving me nuts. My Wifi tends to need to be toggled off and on every now and then, but I just chalked that up to my terrible intermittent connection in my building.

Got Mine G5 Repaired because I was having GPS issues. My G5 is on it's way back and the repair notice listed as follows:
Defect: WI-FI detection problem
Repair Results: Bluetooth/WIFI module
I called them to say I had no WIFI or Bluetooth issues, however they told me it's all one module. Still not sure why it listed the defect as WIFI detection, but maybe it's not a free form field and that was the closest thing they could select. I should have it by Friday and hopefully the replacement module is different. I know that squeezing the sides of my phone made it work better so I also thought it was a contact problem.
i think i can include myself now into this category..
my gps constantly fails ... first i thught its greenify issue but all troubleshooting no sucess
Sent my phone in for repair. Let's see how it goes.
Seems this is just inevitable on the LG G5s....perhaps I should just send my wife's in with a GPS/BT problem, get the repair performed and then send my own in just to get the repair performed.
