Internal SDCard Trouble . Help please!!! - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

well Hello to all
the thing is my Galaxy S2 does not detect the internal mass memory (16gb), I cant get acces with the phone or PC
its boot ok, I can make calls, texts etc... but, for example if I try to take a picture with the camera it says "insert an SD Card before using the camera"..
Download mode & recovery are ok.
I allready format everything I could :S
Odin does not recognize the phone :S
any Help??
excuse my English :silly:
Thanx!!

What FW are you running?

i don't think this is an internal memory problem.. under the camera's settings, did you set the storage to memory card? maybe you accidentally set it to memory card

Having a similar problem, but after rooting my internal storage seems to have disappeared?? any ideas/help greatly appreciated!

Maybe you need to mount in CWM under mounts and storage. Sorry if I'm mistaken!

Surely it's under "emmc" in the root folder. Get solid explorer and you'll see....

Have tried that too, pretty much tried everything. Having one last shot with a different idea this evening, but if that doesn't work am out of ideas.

Thanx to all for the help! I have made some progress... now when I conects the phone to the pc recognizes it as a disk storage, can not be formatted...
I have X-Treme CM10 1.0 it is bassed in CyanogenMod 10 . Android 4.1.1
I think I have to Mount the USB Storage.... but dont know how. ( I believe thats where the problem is)
In Recovery mode > mount USB Storage it says "E. unable to write to ums lunfile (no such file or directory)"
I´ve tried too Recovery mode > mount SDCard = "Error mounting /SDCard"
Odin stills not recognize the divice! so I cant change the rom or something.
What if if try to use Odin with RE PARTITION chek "ON"?? , I know is risky..
thanks for the help, and again, excuse my english!

I'm facing the same issue. Apparently, its not the issue with ROM or rooting. I'll try to flash new kernel through CWM(as i can't connect via ODIN ). Will update here if find any solution

Why don't you download some good ROM via phone's browser and then install it via recovery? You should try. Second method is that you insert Micro sd with some ROM (try one of the Samsung 4.0.3 based ROMs) and Siyah kernel on it and then flash it.

flash stock with pit

same problem with cm 10.1

Go into recovery and format emmc (internal storage).

[Q] Mount Storage from CWM

Well the title pretty much says it all
I ****ed up pretty bad and i have no Roms on my SD Card
Is there any way I can mount the storage from CWM so I can copy a rom into it and flash it?
I've tried Mount USB Storage from the Mounts N Storage Menu but that doesn't seem to be doing anything
It has to work if you did that but theres always a second choice you can select the option DOWNLOAD MODE and odin and once you finish odin you can xopy the rom you want on your sd card and flash it via cwo recovery..

Yea.. It's weird
The drives show up on my computer but I can't actually access any files
I guess I just didn't want it to come to that but oh well, downloading the TAR file now
Thanks for your advice
Edit: Guess Someone Should Close This

Full wipe for flashing new rom

When changing to new ROMs, some require a 'full wipe'. What I'm wondering is when you do a full wipe in CWM, does it also wipe the external SD card? I'm never really sure if it will or not so I always take it out prior just to be safe. If I don't need to do that though that would be good
No unless you select wipe external sd card if the option is on CWM .

What is your Rom you used after you did the full wipe?
It requires time for the media scanner to scan all of your files on your external SD. It took me one time about 5 - 10 minutes until I saw my files on the file manager.

Hi
Let me be mo clear:
I used Super Wipe Full to erase everything because I was facing some problems on it.
I used a lot of rooms before.
Now I can just access CWM and when I try to install the room, it says: "no files found". I think is isnt reading the external sd.

1. Copy the Rom to internal SD.
2. Next time be very careful not to wipe your SD cards in CWM recovery

[Q] Unable to write to ums lunfile(no such file or directory) can anybody help ?

Hello guys.
I want your help! I don't know if the problem is from my card or from my recovery.
I've connected my SD-card to my computer in order to make back-up for my data(I think that was a little premonition).
After that I wanted to copy a new ROM to the card in order to flash it, but the speed was too slow. So I've enter into Recovery in order to copy there the ROM(mount the card as USB). Then, I've noticed that the speed was very low so I've decided to format the SD.
I've put into the card reader of my laptop and made a full format of the card(FAT32).
Last stap, I've inserted the card into my phone and tried to Mount as USB, but, than appeared the big error:
"Unable to write to ums lunfile(no such file or directory)!"
After that I've tried to repartion the card..but only the same message appeared.
I've to mention that my ROM(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=23789395#post23789395) is working fine!

I've tried that too. No chance. I've format the card with http://www.partitionwizard.com/download.html. It can see all the partitions from SD card. On that card I had an ext4 partition(from my old HTC Desire). After that, in phone I can see the card(both Android and Recovery) but can't copy anything on it.

Try formating the card threw the sd options in SD/ storage setting. Meaning unmount the sd. Then format the sd. When its complete it should remount the sd automatically. Also you should try reflashing your recovery. Also what rom and kernel are you using??

sdcard disappeared in cm10, HELP please

Hi all, need help with my sdcard not appearing in cm10 ...
I was on the 0815 build and everything was working fine, then i wanted to mount a ntfs drive to my sgs2 via otg cable.. plugged it and got no response, so i thought it must be the fact that the usb is formated in ntfs format... a quick google got me to the app NTFS MOUNTER n i installed it..
After installing it, i notice i still cant access my ntfs usb and so i uninstalled the app.. then i saw that build 0820 is out, so i downloaded it, made cwm backup n installed it... the next morning i noticed tt in my jellybean, my external micro sd does not appear in my gallery or settings-storage.. but when i rebooted to Recovery i can still access the ext sdcard...
Tried to do recovery from a backup i made 0812 but i get the message: ERROR WHILE RESTORING /SYSTEM! message tried other cm10 backups n i keep getting the same message ...
Tried to do clean install (factory reset, install cm10 zip, install gapps, factory wipe) and i still cant access my external sd..
The only way i can my ext sd to work is to restore to my latest cm9 backup... it works just fine, but if i install cm10 afterwards (factory reset, install cm10 zip, install gapps, factory wipe), the ext sd remains invisible to my cm10, be it 0815 or 0820 build..
Tried googling it but cant seem to find any answer w regards to this.. can someone pls help..
Thanks you so very very much!
just download 0821 and give it a try.

If you are talking about normal FAT32 external SD /MicroSD card inserted in your phone, then it is mounted in:
/storage/sdcard1
just use a file manager to access it.
if you can find it there then it will be easier to to find your gallery files
hi all,
thank you for your replies.
But i think you got it wrong, it's not that the media files are not loading in GALLERY or that i cannot find my way in using file explorer apps, but the phone itself seems to not be mounting my sdcard...
Settings -> Storage will only show Internal Storage (1.97 GB) and Internal Storage (11.50 GB)
The Sdcard section is just blank... whileas if i restore to CM9, Sdcard exists (29.32GB) n is accessible from gallery or any file explorer...
HELP
Hmm.... did you try formatting /system from recovery, clean wipe, then flash latest CM10? Might help...

Hi everyone,
Thanks for all the help given to me so generously!
Finally figured out the problem...
Current SD card: CM9 can access, CM10 cannot
Tried another SD card: CM9 can access, CM10 can access
So apparently i found out that there was some corrupted data in the /sdcard/clockworkmod/blobs/gc./
with the directory containing 8 files which names contain gibberish ascii symbols and they were simply unerasable and the /gc./ directory itself was unerasable
Backed up the data in the sdcard and formated it and voila! Problem solved!!
Thanks again everyone!
So glad to be back at CM10 and to know that when CM10 is fully polished, i will have no problems using it...

hi, okay so i have almost the identical problem, i believe that i have corrupted files on my external drive (Patriot 16GB, FAT32) because i also have a clockwork mod backup, a data folder for titanium backup, the superuser zip and a LOST.DIR folder.
i would just delete everything or try to format it, but somehow the SD is now recognized as "read only" in any computer and my phone won't recognize it at all, even after trying "remount sd" apps on the phone. Suggestions? Im totally at a loss and dont have the money to spend on a new external.. thank you!! =]

Can't mount internal storage or sd card

Well hello first of all this is my first time posting and sorry if it's the wrong place
So well you see I have Lenovo A516 and I had a custom lollipop ROM installed in it and my sdcard and internal storage was already linked in this ROM so I was enjoying myself until it got bricked by itself so I went into twrp recovery and wiped everything too flash ROM but it wouldn't flash because my sdcard isn't getting detected and I get following errors
E: can't mount sdcard
E: can't mount internal storage
E:can't mount sdcard while loading GUI (something like that)
And yes I have read other threads about it but my problem isn't the same ....I removed my sd card yet I still get these errors and I can't download anything out of market like songs from browser or anything ..I will check my card if it's damaged but still I shouldn't get errors after removing it which I do get so plz help me ...I thought it might be a rom so I flashed allegro ROM using PC and a flash tool but still the problem exists

This is an issue that happens on multiple devices. Happened to me on some of my older phones. I always found that it was much more effective to store the rom .zip file on your internal storage rather than your SD card.
