Rom help - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Ok I am almost at the point of trying a Rom. My questions are..
1) being htvdev unlocked ota upgraded are there roms I cannot install? If so how can I tell.
2)again with the ota restriction can I use goo manager to install or do I need to use fastboot flash boot to do it.
3)looking for advice on a good Rom to install. Not sure about going senseless not that I am against it just I realize it is more than just the pretty face. Although the only widget I use is fancy widgets do not think that requires sence but I could be wrong. I would like the rom with the best multitask capabilities. Super user of course and buttons renapped for sure. The fastest most stable Rom woukd be best.
4) I have reset google wallet so will I be safe from bricking my chip?
Thanks for any and all help

Can someone please help me. I am afraid of making a mistake.I want to start by just flashing a stock rooted ROM. I have downloaded 3 but not really sure what to do.. Right bore I am downloading stock rooted odes.zip.
What I think I do is take the boot.img out of it and use fastboot to flash it..
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app

I suggest you try venom rom 4G, and most users have been anticipating it for a long time. I download that and I would be happy guiding you trough the process, and it's easy! Try most things are automated now

Well I have goo manager and twrp installed but they need root which I do not have. I figured I would just flash a room that had root already in it. How will I flash a ROM .. Should be the same for all.
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app

ok lets clarify first..u have the htcdev unlock?......
also look this over
http://forums.androidcentral.com/ht...s/192777-evo-4g-lte-1-22-651-3-root-easy.html

If you are unlocked, and have twrp, you can flash a rom with the root.
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2

Yip that's what I did.. Just went into twrp and told it what ROM to flash and here I Am ready to rule the world.. Having taken the ota had not been as much of a downer as everyone made it out to be.

Let's you customize it, but can be senseless if you want it to be. I look at the tread, and it's really good and easy theme support

I looked at it and it looks crazy... Trying to download it but things are moving slowly.. Great that it has both sense and senseless

App: BootManager

Hey guys, I got this app called BootManager. I have a MT4G with S-ON, running CM7. I thought it would be cool to dualboot and switch between CM7 and Virtuous roms, so I got this app. I just want to know if this app is safe to use. I really do not want to brick my phone
All it does is flash the boot partition so I imagine it has about as much chance of bricking your phone as flashing a rom does.
By the way s-off is required for this app to work.

Help, new to evo 3d

Okay so I got the EVO 3D about 2 days ago and fell in love with it. I just have some questions as a new EVO user.
1. Is rooting this phone dangerous? Has anyone ever bricked their device doing this?
2. What is the difference between the HTC bootloader unlocked and a rooting method on these forums. Oh and what is the best root method?
3. With all the features on the phone as it is, is it necessary to root in the first place
4. If so, what is the best ROM out right now (i heard alot about infected eternity)
5.is sense 3.5 available on this phone?
6. How do I get a working beats audio thing on here?
Thanks you guys,
Ognimnella

1.no. Probably.
2. Depends on what hboot you are. Revolutionary is the best and only I think if you're 1.4.
3. Yes, for sure. So many things you can do with root.
4. I like eternity but I'm on myns warm rim now. Also like miui.
5. Yes there are a few 3.5 roms. Haven't tried them.
6. Beats are included in most roms nowadays but i've seen flashable zips around here somewhere.

Kay you need to tell us what hboot your on. Also yes root it now there are plenty of good roms out right now. Go with the one you would like the most. I personally like senseless Rom the most cuz it gives you aosp experience with your 4g and 3d. There is a 3.5 Rom right now and it will be updated soon now that sac got his phone running again. The beats file is in the dev section. And its flashable
The diff between HTC method is that you can't flash roms the traditional way you have to flash differently because of the kernal you have to flash kernal in fastboot mode with the htcmethod lame I know. The unrevoked method you can flash roms without doing all the bs which is awesome less work lol let us know your hboot so you can get more help
ok how do I find the hboot on this phone, also my phone is cdma, just a little extra info

Read what root is...and the risk of rooting NO ONE IS RESPONSIBLE OF DAMAGES OR A BROKEN PHONE...
Do it at ur own risk ur resposible for ur own actions , if u don't know what ur doing , u better off getting someone who does or else u will brick ur phone. Flashing wit hboot 1.5 takes time n some knowledge.
Rooting wit 1.4 hboot is easy as 1,2,3!

Boot Manager now available for Rezound!!!!

I just purchased it off Android Market and now I can switch between CleanROM and BAMF and even Newt's OneXXX ROM's with ease! Pumped!
I have it and I'm on bamf and newts rom...you don't need s-off just have to be unlocked

My mistake then... I could have sworn someone said you needed s-off for this to work. I guess not if you're using it.
Yea its really nice! S-off would help to be able to have different kernels as I am limited to the same kernel on both as I can't change those in recovery, and I am very jealous of your s-off rezound!

Yes you can flash a nand, it will ask to install zip then it will ask to flash nand or zip from sd... Choose nand and you are all set

Ya, I was wondering how that was going to work. To bad they couldn't incorporate con's flash recovery helper into it and then flash the nandroid backup.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda premium
damn. we're pretty much SOL to switch between kernels then until S-OFF is achieved fully
not looking too good. I tried the lite version for now. original rom is CR dev edition and tried installing bamf on slot one since kernels have to be exact. it was nearly completed until the boot.img part of the install failed and stopped the entire install

How do I uninstall the JB ROM completely?
Edit: Whenever I connect my phone to my computer, it won't show up and I can't add anything to my internal SD.
Edit 2: I got it. I appreciate the help anyways.
Should be very similar as how you flashed the rom you currently have. Not to be a smartass but the op also posted instructions on how to flash. You just need to download the rom and the current gapps for jb and flash using twrp or cmw. Great rom too. For me not quite ready for a daily driver but really good.

I did do exactly what he said to do. I used GooManager. It still didn't work.
What recovery are you using?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
Don't use goo manager to flash. Flash manually in recovery
Is this thread for real ?
I was wondering also but I dont like to rush judgment. I used to work at wal-mart for 7 years and worked IT helpdesk for 4. Learned to work withe people. No disrepect to anyone.

I agree, don't use goo flash with CWM or TWRP and just flash what ever ROM you want to go back to.

Just download the ROM and gaaps you want put on your SD card(internal SD is fine) whipe data, cache ect. Use twrp to install. I prefer twrp because you can install everything in one shot. Hope you figure it out.

People shouldn't be flashing anything if they're asking how to uninstall a ROM...
If you have no knowledge then why risk it??
Read read read read read
And idk how much I can emphasize this but READ
This isn't a help hotline or a help website with walk thrus.. there is YouTube for that..
The OP of every ROM or port or hack or mod has detailed instructions on how to flash a ROM and the requirements.
If you can't figure it out by reading and having a some what knowledge of what's going on....stay away from flashing..
That's how we get all the "I bricked my phone help" threads...
Not being a d*ck but all this can be solved by simply reading

whats the easiest root/unlockbootloader method?

is there any one click methods?
the ones in the and development forum are a little complex and i dont feel like going through it if theres something easier
I hate to be the guy to say it. If the methods your're finding are too complex, you may be better off just staying put where you are.

I'll need to agree with that. Although I believe there is a program out there that has like a one-click method? I'd research it quick but I'm far too lazy right now. Regaw or something?

Since you are s-on you need to flash the kernel first using flash image gui or fastboot flash it or use a sense rom that has a kernel installer

MeanBean is always a great ROM for those who are scared to S-OFF. But aren't you suppose to flash the kernel after? Wouldn't flashgui's kernel install be overridden?
