Accidentally, I found a way to relock bootloader (sk17i) after unlocking by testpoint.
This is what I did (I'm just a little more than a noob):
1) connected my phone in fastboot mode
2) used fastboot toolbox of flashtool and select 'flash system'. I tried flashing the 'system.yaffs.img' made from
a CWM nandroid backup of stock rom (any rom would probably work).
3) flashing completed but my phione will not switch on anymore(screen won't even light up, just a quick LED light).
However, it can still be connected in fastboot and flashmode. Flashing custom kernels didn't work though, it showed some error that root is needed.
I thought I had screwed my phone for good. Luckily I opened s1tool and saw my bootloader still locked (capital 'R' instead of 'r')
I unlocked again by testpoint method and was able to flash kernels again and restored my phone.
The point is, when the bootloader was locked again, one could have used SEUS and everything will be back to factory state with DRM :good:
(If anyone wants to risk, please try it out. I'm poor :crying: This is my only phone)
Testpoint method patches the bootloader(not unlocks), so that unsigned custom stuff can be installed.
If you want to relock, open S1Tool and use Restore option.
You don't have to relock in order to use PCC or SUS.

hi all
i tested if SEUS restore the lock to our bootloader and rechecked my bootloader after restoring my phone to stock it seems that the bootloader stayed unlocked so unlocking bootloader is proved to be permanent unless you locked it again via flash tool and stock kernel for U20i
Minachvim
You are so wrong, neither seus pcc or flashtool relock the bootloader, you can reflash the firmware all the times you want and your bootloader stays UNlocked . The only tool that RElocks the bootloader again is S1TOOL.

i didn't mean to lock the bootloader via flashtool it was only to say that the kernel itself didn't change when used SEUS to restore stock firmware and noticed as side seeing that the bootloader is still intact and unlocked
i already know that only the steps mentioned in Spyder post with s1tool and flashtool can relock the bootloader but i tried to test SEUS if it does anything in that case.
Is this methods still works now and is it safe?
UNLOCKING BOOTLOADER:
Unlocked bootloader is needed for most custom ROMs and for ALL custom kernels. It allows the booting system to be changed.
This can be done via official way or via test point method. Official way also removes DRM keys, which cannot be restored at all.
WARNING: You will lose warranty with this!
THE OFFICIAL METHOD - You lose DRM!
Go to http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com.
Enter service menu, open keypad and enter *#*#7378423#*#*.
Service Info - Configuration, Bootloader Unlock Allowed: Yes/No. If it says Yes, continue. If it says No, do not continue, because it will not work.
On the website, click "Start Unlocking the bootloader".
In the text, there are instructions, what you need to do. Also there are drivers that are needed for this process. Follow the instructions.
Install the drivers, then click Continue.
Enter your IMEI, name and e-mail. Leave out the last number from the IMEI.
You get a code, leave the website open, you will need this code.
Turn off your phone, then connect USB cable to your PC, hold down Volume UP button and connect USB cable to your phone. Blue LED should light up.
You will be asked for drivers. Point to the usb_driver folder where you placed the android_winusb.inf-file, and select the Android Boot loader Interface-file.
Open command prompt, first enter this
Code:
cd C:\...\android-sdk\platform-tools
Replace C with the correct drive letter and ... with the path to the android-sdk folder. Next, enter this command
Code:
fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xKEY
---------------------------------------------
RELOCKING BOOTLOADER:
When you return to stock and/or need warranty back, you will need to relock bootloader. First install stock ROM and kernel and then relock bootloader, else you will have problems. Depending on the unlocking method, there are 2 ways to relock.
TEST POINT METHOD
Start S1 Tool and click Restore button. Should relock the bootloader automatically.
OFFICIAL METHOD
Will not work on test point method, because bootloader was patched there ant not unlocked.
Make sure you have Flashtool installed.
From the downloads section, download Xperia_Relock_Bootloader.zip file.
Extract the package, there is a .ftf file.
Flash the .ftf file with Flashtool.
Bootloader is locked again

Please tell if these methods still works now and if this safe..
Im planning to install custom ROM "icecream pureness V4"
and needs to unlock BL and custom kernel..
And please could u suggest custom kernel?
Thanks in advance
Yes and yes. See the first link in my sig for more info.
thanks
I did something really stupid, my volume down button doesn't work 90% of the time. However i was stubborn with a workaround i was able to get in flashmode. Started pc companion and flashtool and prepared flashtool, then did recovery trough pc companion. As soon the phone rebooted i ended pc companion and flashtool took over. Everything fine till then.
I rooted, installed ZU-lockeddualrecovery2.7.117-BETA recovery. Then trough recovery I flashed chemcup his .757 firmware. Flash went ok, then the next step is to go to flashtool and flash the stipped ftf (kernel and baseband). And here things went wrong, very wrong.
I can't acces flashmode, mun volume down button now really stopped working. Tried for 10 hours, but not working.
Obviously the device won't boot, so pc companion can't help me. Recovery isn't working, or at least the screen isn't working. When i acces recovery the screen goes black but i do have adb. I also can go to fastboot. At the moment i'm really really stuck, i hope somebody can give me a push in the right direction.
In short, no flashmode, adb and fastboot working
I'm not at a pc so can't check or create anything, but here are my thoughts, are you on a locked BL?
Get a stock kernel and flash in fastboot?
Get a kernel/recovery and flash that then get a flashable zip with kernel and baseband - I think someone should be able to create this for you
I hope these thoughts help

Do you have a NAND backup or anything? I'm assuming you want to go back to stock now so you can send it in for repairs or something? You have a working ADB and Fastboot, so you can flash kernels and stuff like that, but have you tried "adb reboot bootloader"?

I'm on locked bootloader,
I don't now how to extract the kernel from a tft and convert to a boot.img. The only boot.img i found was from doomlord, that one didn't flash....locked bootloader i suppose.
If somebody does have a flashable zip that would be awesome

I have something in my dropbox, if i'm remember correctly... When there is live back in the sony i think its the right time to send it in for repairs.
adb reboot bootloader is working, it brings me to fastboot. If i only knew the command for flashmode, there must be one. Do you know if the is a trick with a usb connector with a certain resistance soldered into. In my old acer and lg i could enter flashmode with a certain usb cable.

You have access to Fastboot, so flash a different kernel with Recovery, and see where that takes you. If you get the phone booting again, you can buy DoomLord's "Xperia Reboot" app for around $2, which is totally worth it at this point, and use it to boot into Flashmode. You can see the Flashmode option on one of the screenshots.
This is pretty much your only hope at this point, so good luck!
I think you should be able to flash a .sin kernel from a FTF in fastboot with flashtool, that should get you booting I think
Then do a PCC repair and send in for servicing? or will that want flashmode?

Just back from the nightshift, so i can start trying again.
Fastboot won't allow me to flash kernel, my bootloader is locked. And at this moment i feel like unlocking can make at this moment things worse.
ITS ALIVE!!!
Finally it's alive!
Yesterdad it was alive for a bit, trough adb i manually flashed the LB recovery from NUT. Just used his script only entered each command trough adb.
So i had a full recovery by then, then i got really brave........ In short, i did exactly the same thing as mentioned in the OP. To make things worse, made a mistake with flashing manually the recovery.... recovery was gone...
My last option was to unlock, flashed jackie his kernel, and all is working again. My son can have his TAB2 back, i'm back in business:laugh:
Please, I'm stuck where you were, may you please give me the script you are talking about so I can use in fastboot, fastboot is all I can access. Phone will not boot to flashmode.
please share the script & steps that fixed your z ultra. mine is dead from last 1 months because my volume down key is not working please share the script
I have been trying to get to recovery mode all day, but cant get it to work I have been using the power button and down (BTW. My phone dont show a color when starting) I have also been using ADB from my computer to get to recovery mode, but with both these two solutions my phone only restart. Can anyone help me to get to recovery mode (dont have root, I have been trying to root for three days but cant do it )
It the volume up key on mine with Philz recovery, it changes the led to purple & thats when you press volume up key, silly question but have you flashed a custom recovery on the phone? If so which one?
I don't think the stock Sony rom has accessible recovery.

There is no recovery partition on xperia Z2 phones, therefore there is no recovery to get to. Recoveries have to either be embedded in a custom kernel (requires an unlocked bootloader) or part of the system partition (works for rooted phones with locked bootloader), either way, adb reboot recovery isn't going to work. There are specific apps for xperia phones on the play store that allows rebooting to the recovery from the phone (regular ones won't work because they try to reboot to the recovery partition)
Obviously this also means the Sony official firmwares have no recovery, it doesn't need one anyway since it has flashmode and fastboot mode provided by SEMCBoot (the bootloader).
(Fastboot mode is fairly limited on a locked bootloader though)
To get root you either need to use an exploit (if you want to keep your bootloader locked) or unlock your bootloader, flash a custom kernel with a recovery (Doomkernel works) and flash CF_Root from the recovery menu.
I would suggest using the exploit first anyways so you can backup your Trim Area and be able to restore your DRM keys in case you want to have that option.

Wow really useful tip
Root via rootkitXperia (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2559009) and then install XZDualRecovery (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2261606). You'll then have a rooted phone with locked bootloader and recovery.
Also have a read at this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2775411 and good luck m8:good:
I'm trying to go back to stock from CM12.
I tried flashtool to flash a stock image, and after I selected relock bootloader.
it says it's gone OK, but stock doesn't boot after.
If I go back to flashtool, and I select BLU, it gives me the option to relock the bootloader! I thought it was locked already.
what can i do?
thanks

This only works if you unlocked the bootloader using the official method of unlocking the bootloader.
If you did not do that and perhaps unlocked bootloader using flashtool the only choice you have is to restore the TA partition.
That said if you made a backup of the TA partition before unlocking the bootloader.
edit: What is the status of the phone when you say "stock doesn't boot after."?
Does the kernel not boot? = vibrates three times when power button being pressed.
Does the phone boot but get stuck in a bootloop?

Somehow, after a second flash of the stock ROM, and selecting to wipe data, the phone booted in stock, and works fine.
I still had an unlocked bootloader, and flashtool relock or fastboot oem lock wouldn't work.
I managed to find out what the problem with Backup TA tool was, I replaced the adb previously, but I didn't need to, once I went back to the standard adb, the TA restore worked, and with it, the bootloader locked!
this is now solved. thanks for the help.
one question now.
Is this now the same as stock stock? will i be receiving OTAs or should I do a repair with PCcompanion just to be sure?
rather not if not necessary as I already rooted
