Hi, if I wanted to kill my mobile by shorting it out how should I proceed?
I was thinking in the terms of cutting the cord of a 5/12v charger and connecting it directly to the pins under the battery. As I understand the battery gives 3.7v and if I where to connect the 12/5v charger directly to the right pins on the phone I guess it will be fried. Is that correct and to witch of the 4 pins should I connect the cord?
AK 47 should be sufficient

Ok, but I am pretty sure a technican could detect that it have been killed by a microwave. I am looking for a more subtile way.

How about just plugging your charger in to a 220 line? Did the trick for an old LCD flat screen I needed to not turn on anymore.

I am writing a book called "Hitman 47 - cellular killer" I need to do some backgroundchecks regarding the different ways he would use to kill a phone using stealth so that everyone would be convinced that the phone had died of natural causes.
I am still waiting for any comments of what would happend if I connect a 12v line directly to the phones battery connector.
a "cereal" killer?
Give it a heart attack, whisper Iphone into the mike.

Note that ^^ that number is an average out of 10 tests. I know these tests arent very accurate, but theres a big difference between 760 and 56
The reason I am posting this here was because this app is buried very deep in an old thread, and located nowhere else. So the only way people would find it would be if they knew it was there.
I'll start off by saying that there is much speculation as to whether or not this app actually works (even by the developer). However, it poses no threat to your phone either way.
I decided to post it because I used it for the first time and it seems to have worked for me in avoiding being throttled.
It's a very simple process:
1. Install the app.
2. Immediately open the app and press "reset throttle"
3. Reboot
4. Hope you dont get throttled!
*i would recommend doing this at the BEGINNING of every pay cycle*
It's been said that this should be done BEFORE being throttled, so I do it at the beginning of every pay cycle as a preemptive strike. I've had it on my phone for about 4 months, but have never used 5gb, so I had no idea if it would work.
This month was the first time I've gone over the 5gb limit since downloading this app. I received the "you've been throttled" text message, but my speeds havnt slowed.
Anyways, thats about it. Remember, THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THIS WILL WORK, BUT THERE'S ABSOLUTELY NO HARM IN TRYING. I was skeptical, but I finally got results so I wanted to share with everyone.
UPDATE 09/13/11: So based on feedback from members in this thread, and the fact that I have been throttled the last two months in a row while ussing this app...i think its safe to say that this is not a method to avoid throttling. As you can see above from my screenshots, i had good reason to believe that it was, however I guess I mustve gotten lucky that month and dodged the throttle bullet.
I will leave this thread open, with the download link, just in case any developers ever feel like messing with it to see if they can get something going. Until then, happy data-ing, and down with throttling!
Download: http://db.tt/tXxhobt
Post feedback if it helps or not.
Sent from my pocket rocket!!
Rarely do you get throttled right away.especially if you have been with tmo for a long time, they throttle you at 10 gbs. there is no way or if throttling unfortunately. I didn't get throttled until 10 gb.

Excellent find TS
Guys, i said it twice in the OP.....theres no guarantee it will work. if youre skeptical, hit the back button on your browser.
just remember, i didnt just dig this app out and post it before seeing if it worked.
it happened to work for me. if i find a solution to being throttled, youre damn right im gonna post it for everyone to try......because the whole throttling/"unlimited data" is horse****
will it always work for me? i dont know. will it work for everyone else? i dont know. should people who have throttle problems try a possible solution, especially if its harmless and could work? absolutely.
updated OP with screenshots, to prove that it worked for me

Okay.......you can look up "Idiot" in the dictionary and you'll find my picture.
TMO throttled me back when I hit 5.03gb. And I didn't even realize that was what happened. I tried everything to speed things up again but nothing worked. So then I just figured it was really busy on the internet. I then check my account and saw the red letters. Anyways......I downloaded the app and proceeded as instructed. The first thing I did was a speed test. Results = 72.3 Kbps. I do not care what anyone says.....IT DOES NOT WORK!

Your asking how we purposefully make a Motorola phone defective.. To hide the fact from Verizon you tried to mod your phone and bricked it. All to satisfy a frauded warranty claim.
If anyone were to try and give you advice it would jeopardize this sites integrity.

I did the same thing; at first i tried building my own cable but the connections kept breaking loose because of my poor soldering skills. Finally i just cut the end off of the micro USB charger ( the opposite end plugged into the AC outlet) it might matter if you use the computer USB as a source. I stripped the wires and connected them directly to the Razr battery. The rest is history.

I'm done with LG, I know AT&T probably has more to do with the update not coming out, but I gave them a chance and that's it for me. I will give my son this phone and take his upgrade and follow this forum to flash a little here and there for him. This is utter nonsense not to even have a stock 4.1.2 yet. And yet they keep rolling out devices. Total BS!! and before anyone says we do have 4.1.2 , I Know, but the premise of this rant is that devs could make better and more stable builds off of a stock release. Rant off.
Agreed. This phone is getting treated like garbage for no reason. At this rate, people on contract will have jellybean on this phone for maybe just a year, that's if we ever get an official release (not including snowjb, which I'm using now). I've never liked at&t.

We shouldn't HAVE to..... That's the issue
While I'm not for or against it since I feel what people do with their phones is their business, I do feel like we shouldn't have to turn our phone into another phone in order to make the best of it. We bought the OG because we wanted an OG (at least most of us).
I feel like the N4 conversion is more of a bandaid that's just covering the real issue.
Basically, step up your game LG/AT&T/whoever the hell else is responsible for us being on old software with a brand new phone

In that case I've yet to hit the "some point." However, I've been running the CM10.1 rom for the conversion with the custom faux kernel in an entirely LTE area, and have gone without a single dropped call, random reboot, lost gps, or anything for multiple weeks now (2 or 3 I think?). I'm normally a flashaholic, but this is more of a daily driver for me than snowjb was (with the random reboots).
I think T mobile are doing what they did with the G2X. The g2X is the cousin of the Optimus 2X. Only different was the partition layout. It seems on this one they are doing a complete overhaul, with the LGOG.

Same here. GPS works fine for me on the Nexus 4 conversion, using dvhexer's ROM.
On topic: The specs are amazing, but that SoC will probably set your hand on fire while playing intensive games. This phone is great, it's a shame to see it being pushed away so quick.
OK so this problem started out small a few days ago until now when my screen went down for 30 minutes..
It's weird it just shows a fuzzy screen like a old school TV did that had no reception. This has now occurred on two different ROMs so I know it is not related in that way...
I'm thinking its a hardware or software problem with my screen. Has anybody else experienced this or should I take it into sprint... I have tried taking a screen shot of it but when I do, it actually takes a pic of whatever screen my phone is on eg: home screen, Facebook, XDA etc.... But still has the fuzzy screen....
Any help would be gratefully... Thanks

That definitely sounds like a hardware problem. It shouldn't be consistent with more than one rom. Furthermore, you are the only case where I have heard this (I saw your post with the first occurrence on the Sense 5/ 4.1 port).
Flash VipeRUU if you are S-Off, and run along to Sprint. If you aren't, flash the latest stock rom, and remove SU permissions from within the app itself. They *might* not notice (they didn't for me).

Wow. Looks like your phone froze during a CRT shutdown.

The phone just freezes up when I'm doing something and I press the power button to turn off the screen. And when I press it again to unlock the phone it has that screen...

man that is freaky... it happened to me too but only once. I also have backlight issues on my evo lte. It'll start flickering and the backlight will just die. The phone will still work but the screen wont. Does that ever happen to you?

Not yet just the 80's scrambled porn screen.. I just got this phone a couple weeks ago.
So far since I did the ruu it hasn't happened again. It happened to me this morning twice, the first time it came back after 3-4 hard reboots. The second time it was like that the whole time I slept, and of course right before I did the ruu it came back on LOL..
I am going to give this another night at work if it doesn't do it again I'm thinking it is a glitch in the rooting of the phone if it does then I will take it to sprint tomorrow..

Even I had the same problem - the Sprint store near me replaced the phone (so lost most of my data & s-off phone) but there were others who said they were able to get the Sprint store to replace the screen.. YMMV
All the best!
Thanks for that link.. I think I might just leave early for work tonight and stop by sprint..
Edit nevermind on going to sprint since there hours are 9:30am-7pm and my work is 10:45pm-6:45am. I'm not going to sit around and wait..
