I just installed the xda android app. But I can't seem to find the samsung mesmerize section. Figure fascinate section might be able to help.
Anywho: I have a US cellular Mesmerize. Im trying to find information if its possible to unlock and use the phone on straight talk network.
It seems its pretty easy task as far as the att and verizon versions are concerned. But I'm not having much luck with getting information on the mesmerize. And help or links would be greatly appreciated.

Can anyone help me, i've done every step as is, i am trying to flash a rooted fascinate froyo ed01 to metro pcs. And still to no avail i dunno whats the problem, and i've repeated the steps several times already and still nothing happened, i was able to change my mdn, not sure with the min if it was changed though but anyway, my phone status show changed phone numbers, but in network it still says verizon, i called to metro to have my meid added to their system but they can't seem to add it, they told me my phone was still not flash. Please help. I've been trying to flash this phone since last saturday any help will be greatly appreciated!!!!

ED01 has a check to see if you are on another carrier. you need to downgrade. Try an AOSP rom.

thanks for the response. after i downgrade, then flash to metro(if ever i'm successful) can i update to ed01 and still have metro flash?? thanks a lot!

who ever this guy is dont listen to him ... u can upgrade with cricket and the flash is still here so i dont see why not on metropcs...
yeah i did more research and i found about ed01 flashed to cricket. I think i'm gonna try that one. thanks.

Yeah don't listen to him I'm in cricket and started on stock eclair ...I rooted loaded miui on my phone and everything is fine

Meh, I just remember reading about a carrier check. Personally, I'm on Verizon, so listen to the people that have another carrier.

ey guys haha just successfully was able to get service from metropcs and i didn't have to have the store do it for me..i did a little more research and i found this thread giving instructions on how to flash a fascinate with ed01 froyo to cricket wireless and i got some really helpful tips in there courtesy of chrisngod, and his fellow forum mates idk if i can post the link of the site in here though. btw, i only got the text and call to work as of now, i'll just try to find a thread that can make my mms and data to work.

Idk about metro but on cricket if you're on the android plan a simple change in the apn settings will do the trick ...try that with your phone.

Has anybody been able to successful transfer another non metro phone over without having to metro flash it??

In my best guess, it would brick it. But thats just from Google searching random topics working midnights. You could try it, worst case scenario, you have to Odin a vzw ed05 stock rom

Yea I've never found much info from google. I wouldn't think it would very hard to do since they're the same phone on a cdma network. Guess I'll try flashing the ROM/radio and see what happens.

Actually I have a fascinate on a non Verizon network, so I have to flash massaints patch for cyanogen, but I could just flash a mesmerize MIUI ROM without flashing any patch and everything works.. it doesn't brick using MTD roms, I just don't know how it would work with touch wiz.. haven't tried it.

I know you could flash the mesmerize rom on your fascinate and it would all work except for radio things. It won't connect correctly to VZW. But if you could convince USCC to take your ESN and add your device or however they do it then yes it would work.
I have a Galaxy Note i717 for At&t that i use on Straight talk ($45). I am having issues with data. I have already done the APN settings thing but that doesnt work! I am going to flash a new ROM and i was thinking about possibly trying a T-Mobile modem. Are there any solutions to my issue? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Hello again. I know I've posted a thread like this a while ago, but I didn't seem to get an answers. Recently, I stumbled upon this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2369930, and it says it can enable the GSM radio. By the looks of it, it seems as if that can help enable 3G on the PagePlus network. So, if anyone has tried it, did it work for you? Thanks, hoping I can get feedback as soon as possible.
