http://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_razr_maxx-4666.php
has any custom ROMS, Rooting, Flashing and any other support in our forums?? I didn't understand where to ask and I am quite confused about the things i saw here in this section.. I hope I am not breaking rules to ask this.. please guide me.. I am planning to buy it
thanks

Hi, it's the same as the Razr with an extended battery. My father has the Maxx and I have the plain old Razr XT910, so I flashed his Maxx with the same ICS leaked release, now his phone says XT910 like mine. There's plenty of Roms out there. I dual boot mine. First partition is Stock ICS and my second is Epsilon V4 (just read that they've closed the Project!). Plenty of guides on XDA to help you get to where you want.

damn i wish this thing comes to Canada...

[Q] Just rooted my XT912, Now what's next?

I know that every method works for each version of your android system, I rooted my phone, I guess the next step is to install the boot Menu Manager, I am new @ motorola phones, I come from Samsung Droid Charge, I would like to install a fully working debloated rom, I currently have the latest update 4.1.2.
I am lost, but I know I have root, I just checked with root checker.
Please help me !!
Hi. Go to your browser and install safestrap 3.11. After that, just find a ROM and follow instructions. There's a guy named Tom on YouTube who has some good 'how-to' videos. Don't use ROM manager or ROM toolbox. They arent very reliable or up to date. Titanium backup is a good purchase that helps. Have fun and whatever you do, keep and backup your stock ROM!

you just check out droidrzr.com they are dedicated to xt 912 cdma and have lots of good support and live chat support as well. incase nobody helps you here
Is ROM Toolbox still a good/safe app for debloating my stock ROM?
I came from an HTC Thunderbolt and this phone is already very different.
Also, does anyone know of an EXTREMELY STABLE ROM that is 4.2.2 Jelly Bean for this XT912?
i wouldnt suggest using rom tool box. motorola have locked bootloaders things are done differently with them while samsung and htc and others have unlocked bootloader. this is where motorola gets tricky the website i referred to you have an active chat and lots of good support if you post there. somebody will respond to you fast.
razr is kind of dead in forums because of how difficult motorola is development. it really is painful.

I kinda figured it was.
Having to use the Smart Actions app during the root process is what made me think... wtf? Lol.
Check out the CM 10.1 and Avatar ROMs is you are going for a Jelly Bean rom. So far i have liked them. FYI, i just rooted my razr a few weeks ago as well. I am loving it.

Moto Maxx Newb here..with Questions!

I have rooted my month old Moto Maxx to 4.2.2 12.15.15. What are the benefits of going back to stock & taking the OTA & then trying to re-root over just installing a new ROM ..say CM? I got the message that the OTA for 4.4 is available...Whats my best bet? I'm happy just being rooted & able to get rid of the bloat.
I think you may be in the wrong device forum. This is for the Droid RAZR released in 2012. We have no OTA update for 4.4 in sight. I think your looking for the droid Maxx. That device thread can be found here:

[Q] need a little push in the right direction

Can the tutorials in this forum be used for the Verizon Droid Razr MAXX as well? I didnt see a specific forum for the Razr MAXX just this one and the MAXX HD. I also have a couple of other questions.
1) whats the best software for backing up my existing image incase I brick my phone?
2) Do I need a separate piece of software to back up my phone after its rooted with a new ROM?
3) Is 4.4 kitkat the latest ROM available?
4) Is the Razr MAXX capable of running 4.4?
Sorry, Im a complete noob when it comes to smartphones but I want to upgrade to 4.4 because LG has a smart watch that I want that requires 4.4 on yoru phone.
Thanks,
47 views and no one can answer these rather basic questions?

1) You can't,the best way to return to stock is with Matllgrof's utility or Rsd Lite, these are computer programs
2) You can backup your rom with the same custom recovery that allows you to flash it,Safestrap or BMM
3) Yes
4) Ofcourse
Btw,Razr Maxx and Razr are the same phones, the only difference is in the battery.

[Q] [Q&A] [ROM] [KERNEL]Instruction for new Motorlola RAZR users

I suggest someone start thread for new users of Motorola RAZR who have bought new one.
If there was an instruction for choosing and installing best ROMs and Kernels and Recovery it would be very nice.
I have bought new Motorola RAZR Maxx XT910 a week ago and I got into many problems.
I can't install BMM and I don't know what Rom is now the best.the newer and the fault free one.
Thanks for your guidance
