Root S3 problem - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I dont know what i am doing wrong, i used the chainfire root method and used odin and flashed the cwm to my S3, but when it rebooted it did it normally but no superuser or busybox was installed...
I have booted into the recovery, and see that it is CWM, but why do i not have root access???
Thanks in advance.

The toolkit is a really well written and easy to use application, it gives you all the information and plenty of choices, and takes 5mins to root I really recommend it!

Superuser does not root your phone . In fact your phone must be rooted to install Superuser from the market . Just download Z4root and put the Z4root.apk on your phone then install it .

Using adb shell requires insecure kernel, which needs to be flashed via odin.
So currently no way in my knowledge

I really can't remember now but either way best thing is TriangleAway it will reset the flash counter no flash no foul. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.triangleaway&hl=en
It's not free but well worth the money and works with different Samsung models.
Try this:

Heimdall is exactly the same thing as Odin, only another tool which happens to be cross-platform instead of windows-only.
TriangleAway can be downloaded for free from Xda, but I'd recommend supporting the dev through buying it:

thank you for all your answers, i consider using cf-root now and triangle away later, thanks!

Install Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip in CWM from http://androidsu.com/superuser/
If you have CWM then you have already rooted it
As I understood you want to change the program that grants SU access to other apps?
Why do you need that?
I think that you will not have any better changes from that...

Hey, did you look in SuperSu settings? There is everything you need. By the way I can't see the rationale to absolutely change your Su app and binary. They are now both the same in features.
Check in SuperSU settings there are options to ease the transition to superusrr, than download superuser on Play, and update the binary.
You dont have to root to have CWM you can remove the cache file in the CF root file. And you will have CWM and no super user

Find Superuser.apk and su (binary) on XDA-Developers forum et put "su" on /system/xterm/ and "superuser.apk" on /system/app/.

you could have rooted with cf-root 6.5 instead...it includes CWM, otherwise google clockwordmode recovery and download the recovery and flash it with odin, simple as that!
I googled it but there's only one for Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300), While mine is a GT-19305, Can I use CWM for 19300 on 19305?
