Hey guys, I've got a unique app request.... I'm aiming to find a Bluetooth Intercom app that allows me to use my Bluetooth headset as a microphone that plays on my phones speaker, effectively creating an intercom system. There are apps out there that do something similar to this by creating a Bluetooth network but it requires another Android device. I've got a tablet but I'd like to do this with just my phone and Bluetooth headset. The reason behind this: I've got a newborn and instead of using a baby monitor I want to be able to place my headset in his crib, and smoke a cigarette on my front porch and listen to him through my phone with the microphone being the headset.... Hopefully I've gotten across what I'm trying to do...if there are any app devs out there willing to give it a shot, shoot me a PM or post here, I'll be more than willing to pay/donate to those who contribute to the cause. Thanks again guys for your time and attention...

I know the devs here are working feverishly on new roms but I have a small request that I know sounds like I am asking a lot. It appears the bt stack in the 3d is kinda screwy. What I mean is when you connect to bt stereo its static and when trying to connect to the bluetooth of my GM car it doesn't want to stay connected and wont connect right. I am curious if someone can pull the bt stack from a known working like the evo or the mytouch 4g (both htc phones) and try that out. Just a thought and could help a lot. HTC acknowledged there is a problem but blames it first my car (which every other phone works perfectly on) and my bt speakers (which every other phone works fine on). So it doesn't look like their going to fix it.
My phone works great on my stereo headset, and in all the Hyundai cars I work on (for calls and for streaming audio). Dealing with blue tooth complaints on the cars I work on, I will say that one phone model will work when another won't. So it may be compatibility issues between your phone and car.

That's why I need the by stack from a known working phone thrown in heh. By hardware is the same for the most party but software can be different.

Also for WiiMote
I too would like to know if it's possible for someone to bake in a new bt stack because WiiMotes don't work on the 3D and that's a major part of why I wanted the device (MHL + Wiimote = portable entertainment system)
This is a problem I had wit the MoPho (love the nickname). I can't get the inline mic to pick up sound when Im on the phone and get noa response when trying to control music playback with apps like Winamp. I have some Apple Headphones and they did good with my EVO 4g but I get nothing with the MoPho. Tried to get help on Motorola forums but no avail. Anybody have this same problem or solution?

HTC has a similar headset jack as Apple, ditch the HTC and/or Apple headset, as those will not work.
Sorry,

PS - WE ALL LOVE THE NICKNAME, (now that's one bad MoPho!!!)
I solved it with an app.

Did you get the Apple iPhone earphones working with the Photon?? Please tell me what exactly you did! I installed the app but they still don't work I plug it in, and I get sound from the earphones but the mic does not work, nor does the buttons! They worked nicely on my EVO 4G but not with the Photon
That app didnt work for me either. I really would like to stick my phone in my pocket and talk. Im always holding it with headphones in. Disgusting

i have no problem using a pair of headphones with an inline mic. im using MEElectronic's m9 headphones. theyve worked great for me thus far, and sounds great for music as well.
This has probably been addressed before. Has anyone found an apk file for the HTC FM radio that will work with the rezound . Thanks.
Yes it has been addressed before and nobody has this working yet. Just search this forum for it.
Found it and it works
If anyone is still looking, I found a thread on PCgeeks, followed it and it works great on my Evo 4g! Tried to post it but due to my utter noobness xda won't let me. Just google htcfmradio.apk and look for the thread on the PC Geeks forum. OBTW, other threads addressed an issue where people said the app wasn't working, but you have to have a three ring headset jack vs. the two ring on most. I can verify that this is correct. My earbuds have two black rings on the jack, no worky. My bose qc15 has three black rings, works 4.0! Sweet! Great sound, all of the stations come in very clear.

this is true. we need to have if so they can use the lower ring as an antenna. with out the hardware, i dont see this app ever working for the rez. there are alternatives like apps that you can listen to your favorite stations from there online broadcast and not over an FM tuner.
I tried the FM radio on my phone and I cannot get it to work. i do not believe that htis phoen has the FM radio chip. BTW, I was using the 3 ring headphone.
Googled it but couldn't find any that Worked. Link us or pm me the link and I'll post it.

Yrs the head phone can be 3 ring but you need the jack to be wired to use the 3 ring...

Typically on a regular stereo headphone plug you have a 1/8" TRS plug. TRS stands for Tip-Ring-Sleeve. Generally Tip would be Left ear (+), Ring is Right ear (+) and Sleeve is common ground.
The "3 ring" plug you are talking about is 1/8" TRRS, or Tip-Ring1-Ring2-Sleeve. Generally speaking, the configuration of these are:
Tip=Left
Ring1=Right
Ring2=analog input (mic)
Sleeve=Ground
This is the case for the Rezound's plug. Ring2 is for input (headset-mic, or for analog signals sent from devices such as Square dongle or the music control buttons on the iBeats headphones)
Plugging in a regular set of stereo headphones without the 2nd ring (TRS) simply disables the input by grounding it out (Ring2 and Sleeve contacts are both touching the "sleeve" of the TRS plug). To the best of my knowledge, the Rezound isn't capable of using this 2nd ring contact as an antenna lead, as plugging in a set of headphones with a mic (iBeats) would totally nullify any ability for that lead to act as an antenna. The coil in the microphone would absorb any signal that might be received on that wire.
I PM'ed Abu7 the link. When I google htcfmradio.apk the first link is the ppcgeeks one. Post #8 has instructions for how to install. Also, I believe the headphones need to be 3.5mm. The headphones with the microphone jack I believe will have the third ring. I just ordered some earbuds from Amazon that I think will work. I'll let you know in a day or two and try to link that as well.
Here they are:
ok try it with terminal app
1) Place the .apk on the root of your SD card
2) Type "su"
3) cd into the destination of your .apk
4) Use "install "name of .apk" /"destination"/"name of .apk"
like this
su
cd /sdcard
install htc.appname.appname.apk /system/app/htc.appname.appname.apk

would be interested if this really works.
The rezound has no FM radio, so none of the apks will work. We tried months ago. But have fun trying.

I have tried many apks from all over the internet and they all fail to even install.
Just got these (3.5MM LG OEM Stereo Earbud Headphones /w Microphone Extension for HTC Droid Incredible (Black) ) in the mail from Amazon and they work with the FM radio. The two ring earbuds I have do not work (just static). The reviews on these were good and the price was right.
Not sure why the apk doesn't work for some. Could be an EVO only thing? I know the EVO came with FM radio. After I rooted I had to go find it again, though. Maybe some phones aren't set up for it.
I'm using an EVO 4G with a Nitrous rom.

Yeah, and that forum doesn't have the apk.
So the Rezound has the BCM4330 chip...
After a quick bit of research, it seems that ALL variants of that chip that I have found do contain an FM transceiver, which is really interesting actually. This means that technically, the Rezound should also be able to transmit audio sources over FM Radio to your car stereo as well as receive FM Radio.
Other specs I've found show that the Rezound should also support 5Ghz 802.11 A/N wifi too, but I haven't been able to get any 5Ghz networks to be visible to my phone...
My guess is these functions must be implemented at the kernel level before they will function correctly.
So, now I challenge any developer to get this working.

Seconded!
Actually, its really a shame how gimped this phone comes, now that I'm aware of more of its capabilities. For the first "Beats Audio" phone to the USA, where you would assume its audio features would have been the most important area of focus, most of the stock capabilities of the hardware aren't even implemented.
-So we have an FM Transceiver that can currently neither transmit, nor receive. The transmitter especially is an awesome features for people who spend a lot of time in a car listening to their own music.
-We have a relatively hifi audio DAC, the WM8903, with an awesome built-in headphone amp capable of driving big studio cans. Not implemented. The audio on this phone is processed entirely in software, essentially limiting the capabilities of the WM8903 chip to a simple headphone-jack interface and nothing more.
-Beats Audio mode itself was supremely disappointing in its extremely limited implementation.
-5Ghz Wifi capable but it appears to not be implemented either.
All of this stuff could probably be fixed. I know Anthrax kernel supports processing audio in the DAC, I know Voodoo Sound is compatible with this chip and supports the DAC and headphone amp but its currently not available on the Rezound...
The wifi and FM radio are both handled by the same chip, so likely we just need a proper driver or kernel support to add in the missing features supported by the chip.
**edited for false information**
gsmarena.com posted that the Rezound utilizes the Wolfson 8903 DAC. This appears to be false. The Rezound actually appears to utilize the TI AIC3254
I have noticed when i pair my SG3 with my Nissan Maxima, it pairs easily... but sometimes it just disconnects from the car.
After i turn off the car and restart it, the BT does not re-connect. Anyone else experience that? Are their any fixes?
The BT options have selections for Phone and audio (i am assuming for Pandora, etc)
i have only had it stream audio once playing a movie and it only kicked in after about 2 minutes.

I have this w/ my bluetooth when dialing, i have to tell it to repair. Not sure how to sync w/ bluetooth audio for Pandor or what not. I have a 2012 Murano. Is it an additional option?
i use a panasonic link2cell cordless phone and it does not autoconnect when i get home and come into range or turn on bluetooth.
that's my biggest complaint about the phone. My old captivate worked great it autoconnected as soon as i turned on blutooth or came into range. S3 requires i go into the settings for the device and manually connect. Not sure why they made it take 4 extra steps to do such a simple task and i hope they fix it soon.

I gather you are satisfied with your Panasonic. I purchased one last month...sound was poor for me. When I was on the phone with a friend he complained about how terrible I sounded over the phone.
I was disappointed that I had to return it.

yea i've had it for over a year and been really happy with it. I've only noticed poor SQ if i take the cell too far away from the base. I pretty much just plug my cell into a charger and leave it right next to the base station for the cordless because the range for BT isn't that great.
I also use an obi100 with google voice on the same cordless and have found that the L2C has better SQ than the obi/GV.
I pretty much make/answer all calls over the L2C and hardly use the obi/GV really. Just make sure you leave the cell near the L2C base.
Still off topic...

Hmmm...maybe that was myk problem. While I didn't have it next to the base, I did keep it across the room, about 12' away.

probably. Every once in a while i will forget and leave cell in my pocket or something and walk too far away from the base station and then the SQ sucks... gets all scratchy.

i used chat to find out how to make it automatically connect and go into the 'call audio profile' and this is what they said
"I am to inform you that, Galaxy S3 is designed with security purpose all in built in features are different compared with other devices this always seeks the permission of the user to access any thing it is designed with all business purpose features this is the reason that there is no built in feature to connect the device even it is paired."
lol
I also tried phone support and that guy tried to say it was because of the NFC lol.. when i called him out on that he basically said he didnt know but he 'escalated' my concern and i could try calling back in a couple of days to see if there was a work around.
I just want it to connect and use bluetooth device automatically after the intial pairing... S1 did it and so should the s3.
I know some of that security talk is true but I thought that was for a enterprise version of gs3 to be later released

I also have a Nissan Maxima and experienced the same problem with connect/reconnect as well as issues with bluetooth streaming music. With the latest OTA update that was released last week by AT&T for the GS3, mine is working with no issues. It connects as expected, bluetooth audio streaming now works reliably, and the added the Bluetooth AVRCP profile which enables your car deck to display track, artist, and album info on the display. Sweet!

Whoa! Cool. I'll have to try that.
Now if we could only use the Voice (whethter Google Voice search or S), while hooked to a car BT, that would be even better.
Greetings! I can't necessarily vouch for every user on this forum but I can say that I had a significant trouble when it came to using my headphones voicemate app popping up and asking me if I wanted to say anything. This was a concern for me because I wanted to listen to music without interruption so I froze the app and it caused a significant improvement in my headphone auxiliary port working for speakers and headphones. Just thought any fellow frustrated users may get help from it. Perhaps those of you whom are more technical can speak to the reason this worked?
