Hi guys im currently using CheckRom V7, but i kinda brick it too..
When im done of flashing V7, i did wipes again which its not recommened in the thread, now my S2 just stock in the booting logo.
I've tried to use Odin to flash another rom, but unfortunately my s2 cant connect with my laptop, it always said unable to install the driver, but my other S2 could.
Now i think the only way is to install CWM Recovery into my phone via update zip from external SD card, because V7 is using stock Samsung kernel which does not have CWM in the phone
And i have found few threads about update zip, but they are all about rooting. I guess theyre not the ones im looking for ..
Can anyone help me with this ? Need that update.zip so bad now..
Really appreciate you guys...
Calm down man, your phone is not dead yet. The people who did wipe has the stock kernel with CWM recovery in it. You are lucky you wiped with stock recovery. Anyway, have you tried plugging it in a different usb port?

You can flash a Cwm flashable zip in stock recovery and get a temporary cwm. From it, you can reflash the rom and kernel.

When you flash cwm recovery and it reboots..hit reinstall packages...if it goes back to stock....hit re-install packages again
Sent from my XDA app cuz I'm stalking your mom....
i have several times and nothing
Are you on the stock kernel? try flashing a custom kernel first. Clockwork mentions that galaxy s users on the cwm market page. I haven't tried it because I'm waiting for 2.3 though kies see what I like better.

how would i flash a kernel on the vibrant
and which one im lost
download a free app call sgs kernel flasher and backup ur current kernel with it and then download the kernel u want and put it on ur sd card then flash it with sgs kernel flasher, there u have flashed a new kernel.
Plus ur update package could be corrupt thats why it wont take. After it hitting reinstall packages twice it should kick into the green recovery!
do u have rom manager??
Hi guys,
Got my s2 rooted again and thinking of flashing a new rom. Basically, i rooted it with tegrak's kernel.. instant root/unroot without rebooting.
So I also flashed cwm recovery through Odin
Im able to access CWM but cant flash any roms. I get stuck at the screen with "Samsung Galaxy S II " and a yellow triangle.
Im not sure whats actually the problem. The bootloader? The rooting method? The Recovery?
Hoping a few mates out here can help me out.
Note: Im able to flash any roms through Odin though
If you are able to go into recovery , wipe data, cache and dalvik if possible. Then flash a stock GB/ICS Rom and root it with cf root. If you did everything right you should be able to flash.
A thanks is appreciated if i helped you in any way

Try to root with ChainFire's kernel.
But, first, re-flash an ICS FW. Then, apply CF-root-kernel.
Go to CWM recovery and try to install a rom again.

Ah. i see. So the fault lies within the tegrak kernel itself?
Il try once more tonight. Thanks for your help
Ok, rooted with cf kernel. Otw to installing CWM. See how it goes
oh yeah. works. Thanks
Hello Everyone,
Was wondering if anyone can help me solve a problem regarding the ROM of my Galaxy S2.
I've had my phone for more than 18 months now and I remember having it rooted and the ROM changed last year.
The guy who helped modify my phone is no longer around and so I am making attempts to change the ROM myself.
The current ROM on my phone is called Litening ROM version 6.1 and it was a fantastic ROM. However, it's already very old and needs to be upgraded to the latest ones.
I've downloaded and tried to install 3 ROMs so far and nothing seems to work.
I wiped the cache partition clean and also did a factory data reset.
Now, whenever I access the downloaded ROM from my sdcard, it always ends up saying:
"E: Short write of /tmp/sideload/package.zip (No space left on device)"
What does this mean? My device has ample memory and I've deleted most of the files on the sdcard already to make even more space.
My device is also rooted - so I don't think rooting it again is needed.
Please see attached pictures.
I've tried several ROMs and I'm now on my last ROM which is the Omega ROM for Galaxy S2.
All ROMs do not install and the same error message always shows up during installation.
Hope you can recommend a good solution for this.
Regards.

Hi there. Sorry but I'm not familiar with CWM recovery. My phone is factory reset so I did not install any other program.
Is CWM recovery an app which can be downloaded?
I just saw the program CWM recovery on my friend's Galaxy S3 which has Omega ROM installed on it.
But my S2 with Litening ROM does not have this app.
Cheers.

Here mate. Download thishttp://db.tt/MxD7F6xg.
Install it through recovery and it will replace it with CWM recovery (temporary).
Then flash your new rom through that.

Okay so recently I rooted my phone, no problem with the process, I used odin to change the kernel so it will be able to root. I then download a custom rom which is jellyBAM to my desktop. I waited until it was downloaded (I think it was around 285 mb) and I really don't know how to change roms and stuffs so what I did is I transferred jellyBam to my phone and found a rooted app called rom manager. I runned the app and pressed download rom from sd card and chose the jellyBAM (btw it was a zip file) and pressed download. After that it rebooted and it came to a point where it was just showing the name model (Samsung Galaxy s2 i9100) and this caution symbol underneath it. So the big question is... Is it bricked? Can i recover it? I can't put it in recovery mode but the download mode seems to be working. Should I install a stock rom in my phone using odin? or should I install a kernel? please help! ... :crying: :crying: :crying:
You should read some and be relieved
And rom manager & s ii dont get along well.

I've been searching threads similar to mine but I couldn't find any! just wondering if I can restore my phone using download mode.. Thanks anyway
Do the reading thing again, it's all there.
Reflash via cwm or flash a stock rom via odin.

So if I flashed a stock rom using odin, will it go back to normal? will my phone be unrooted?
Yes to all.

background info:
samsung galaxy s3 i9300. Rooted with cyanogenmod Installer: http://beta.download.cyanogenmod.org/install
A while ago I tried flashing a costum rom, however i wasnt fully satistied so went back to cyanogenmod. My SDcard space went from 11gb to 2gb left. I went to recovery (CWM Touch) and formatted system and sdcard (which was a huge mistake I believe). As far as I know, I have no rom installed right now after the format. Ive downloaded MIUI and put it on my external SD and tried flashing it from my external SD. After wiping dalvik, cache and factory reset flashing went well. When I press reboot device CWM says "root access is missing, root device?" Now there are 2 options: "no" and "yes root device (/system/xbin/su)". Both options result in my phone stuck at the boot animation.
I thought because I had no root, I had to flash a stock rom. So I downloaded a stock rom and tried flashing it. CWM said "installation aborted". So right now Im kind of clueless. Can anyone help me and tell me what to do? Ive been searchin this forum for quite a long time now. Any help would be appreciated.
Kind regards

yap, there was a lot of data I couldnt access. I wanted to clear the whole SD and flash a new rom so I could basically start over again with a fresh new SD
Which stock rom you installed??
And are you able to flash that miui rom you talking about now??
If it asks fit root just click no.. That's a problem I guess with the recovery not detecting root but you still have it.. just not into your rom by clicking no... then if you don't have root you can flash a supersu file through recovery..

Yes, unless it is a repackaged stock rom you must use odin, not CWM to flash it. You could try using archie's rom or one of Wanam's in CWM. Or download a repacked stock that is flashable in CWM.

I believe Ive tried flashing this stock rom

Yes the MIUI rom has been flashed "succesfully". Only thing is when I reboot my phone, it gets stuck at this screen:
