[Q] Where is the "phone" menu in settings - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I can't find the "phone" menu in my SecSettings.apk to change phone options (caller id, etc).
I'm on a XXBLG1 custom rom (Omega) but iirc it wasn't even there on stock. On the Galaxy S2 there is a phone menu (my brother showed me).

Open phone app, then capasitive menu button and then settings.

[Q] How to make the bottom bar appear while in an app?

So I was able to install CM7 on my nook tablet (love it btw) without any problems. It runs great but I have a small user question.
The bottom bar that allows navigation and options in apps. The bar with the menu, back, search buttons that had to be coded into the rom. There is an option when playing a game or inside another app that will allow you to minimize this menu. Is there a way to get it to come back while still in the app?
Sorry if this is a repeat question, but I have no idea what the technical term for this bar is, so I didn't know what to search for.
Thanks
Settings -> cyanogenmod settings -> tablet tweaks -> choose unhide button
I have it set to home (the n button) so that hitting it once brings the menu back and hitting it again brings me home.
Thank you! Exactly the info I needed!

Play Store

Did something change in the play store? all the sudden the menu button isnt there anymore for me. its just the back button and the search button so i have no way to get the the "My apps" area.
are you running a custom ROM? in some of them the 3dot-menu is disabled.
Try to setup the right button (from the 3 red bottom buttons on your phone), that it toggles the menu. It's somewhere in settings -> Display & gestures (I think)
Unfortunately I can't tell you on which point exactly at settings you can configure this, cause I'm running a custom ROM where this setting is at another position.
Or even try to short or long press that button for showing the menu (in Play store and any other app that has a menu).

How to open in app menu?

Hi all. It may seem a silly question and probably it is but there are apps (in this case Touchdown mail client) that haven't an icon to open the in app settings menu. With my previous phones I used a physical button, usually long press on the back button, to open it. But how to do it with the single button p9000? Thank you.
Very good question, they seem to have forgotten about apps that need a physical key for menu, have you tried enabling the softkeys to see if the menu button appears on them for you? Can the "Smart Button" not be setup to be the menu key? or is it only to open apps? I not played with it myself..
Still searching how to have the MENU inside applications, softkeys does not work !
I would ask the software maker! The phone maker won't add more physical buttons.
And multiple press are always software driven!
Even if the phone maker did, that won't help you out with the old hardware...
Doesn't seem to be an answer anywhere online so here goes:
Go to settings > Navigation bar > Turn On.
Go to app you need a menu on > swipe up from bottom to bring up the Nav bar.
Three dots appear on the end of the nav bar. Done.
If the three dots don't appear; click on the recent tasks button and then go back into the app and they should come up.
Tried and tested with EZ Drop.
- Doesn't seem to work with apps with the built in "three dots" menu.
I use ‘Menu Button (No root)’ by JetToast free on the Play store, to get round this problem.
