Not to be "that guy", but there's a sticky for jelly bean discussions.

There's no chance for an official update for the evo 3d. HTC makes its money by selling you new software, so if you have okay hardware and great software, there's no reason to upgrade.
And yes, there is a jelly bean sticky
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
80% no update to jelly-bean.
As we know that bunndled device dont have better support because of the prices and sprint also have new products.
But we can only hope there will be update jelly-bean for evo3D GSM from official HTC, and also beg on our beloved developer to port it to cdma version... Lol.

The EVO 3D will most likely not get Jelly Bean officially.
Please keep all JB discussion here in the official JB discussion thread.

Can someone tell me when ill will get the ICS update for my EVO 3d, i bought it sim free so im not tied to a network and i cant seem to find anything on the update for me
Thanks
Pretty soon maybe. Until then, u can use custom roms based on ics. I would say custom roms are better than stock since it will be updated frequently.

You can try this one from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1202422
I would like to go back to a gb Rom until the official ics is released. Do I need to reflash the old firmware? And if so, which one is it? I just want my phone to be more stable until ics for the 3vo is perfect. Thanks in advance.

Most of the hardware is similar, so about 80% or so of the drivers and source can be used.
Gsm needed some much needed love and now this has given it , i most certainly can wait to see what the devs come up with (can't wait for my nexus 7 too show up)

I'm curious, who will make first custom ice stock based kernel.

Even though I'm CDMA, hopefully this can help with stability for AOSP roms on my phone.

Can this source released for GSM Evo 3D be used to make an ics stock-based kernel for CDMA? Right now, using Anthrax kernel (hboot 1.5 S-ON and don't want to try turning S-OFF or downgrading to 1.4) and I would really like to have my 3D back.

Yeah, I'd probably say 90%, few drivers and stuff change for CDMA

The real problems are always audio, Bluetooth, graphics, and camera stuff. I'd be surprised if that hardware is very different if at all different.

Not yet. There will be no sense JB roms until we get a JB update (or leak).
Hi everyone! This is my first thread, but not my first coming here. Just as the tittle say, I don't know weather the ion kernel is necessary for us to port sense 5 with jb on our 3D. I learnt and searched from the internet, but i have no idea about that at all. I really want my 3d with sense4+,sense5 and jeallybean even kitkat working. I really like the awesome sense ui and there are many apk doesn't support ics. Some of the game say that they only support jb+, and i like sense very much,i use YAS4v11 now.So may i ask these question:anyone please can tell me how can i do for ion kernel for our 3d. For our evo 3D alive.
No one can solve this problem?I see many other old htc devices has good kernel, why not us?

I think it's all about the camera of 3d. You could sign here
if you didn't already do and think positive that the drivers will be released.

i signed. But i don' t know if this sloved. we still need the kernel, the ion kernel? Why many sense 5 romers say that they have ion kernel? i don't know that.
Could you please help me find the answer
I'm not a developer I just read things on the web, so I can't help. Actually we have a working ion kernel but hybrid (which means ION+PMEM memory allocating). The problem is on the camera drivers. That is the main issue for jb+.

Ha, I understand your means. Thank you~ I am going to learn something about that, wait for some kernel developer to see this to give me a guide, and wish our signed action working. Wish our 3D live long
