Ice cream comes out, when can I run CM8 on my Samsung Galaxy S?
Cyanogen 8 is honeycomb. No 8 because Google didn't release the source. Cyanogen 9 is ICS. As Google say, it will work for those devices that able to run gingerbread.

I would expect the first of nightlies to come out late November, and a stable sometime late December or early January.

We havent even got a stable CM9 build and you expect we would get a properly working Jelly Bean build? Ya,right......
And,as far as i know, the sources wont be released until mid-july(thats what i heard from others) So,even if there is any chance of getting an unofficial build,it will be quite some time before we get it anyway.
Looks awesome....but I was drooling about that camera not the os

I'm sure the ace community with the devs can port this to your ace (even though it will not be stable at first). Let's face it guys, it is a point release and not a major overhaul of the OS. It is ICS but better

Key Lime Pie.
And it may or may not be 4.2, it could be 5.0.
and samsung as samsung it well be in 10 years from now
I think that key lime pie will be 5.x, not 4.2.
Jelly Bean Sandwich ^_^
Then
Lemon meringue
Marzipan
They're my guesses.. I haven't read the actual list in a while, can't remember what they're meant to be!

I'll take that over an apple wink wink see what I did there lol
Maybe kool aid?
Kitkat?
Both trademarks so doubt they will be used. Samsung galaxy s4 now with kool-aid

4.2 will still be jelly bean I think. No name change till 5.0?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Every minor (eg 4.1 to 4.2) or major (4.2 to 5) version change gets it's own codename.
It's been like that in the 1.x and 2.x ranges, they wont stop now =)
2 being massively a rewrite from 1, 3 being tablet-only and 4 being a phone-capable version I'd guess the following version will be 4.2 - there's atm no need for massive changes.
To those who haven't seen it yet in the names: the first letter of the dessert codename of Android represents in numeric form the corresponding release, Jellybean is the 10. Android version

I dont think they will have a 4.2 but a 5.0. Only reason we have a 4.2 is because they didnt get to finish all the tweaks they were going to put into ice cream when they released it. But on another note, I wouldnt be surprise if the next version is fully compatible with google glasses and you need a quad core and samsung will then say the GS3 is tooo old for an update and try to force people to buy a GS4
Hey I wanna ask if there will be JB for our xperia u
I read somewhere that JB will be available on 2013 is that correct?
Thx for your time
We dont know yet for the official, but XU will get CM10 from FXP I guess.

That's Sony. They bring updates nice and slow. But, they don't drop out their devices. Else, we'll have it the unofficial way

Well actually they drop their devices, like they did with x8 its got only 2.1 official firmware, but since Xperia U is anew device we will get ICS and in nearls future i hope JB. Sony is slow with their updates but they dont like other manufacturers, they did their updates unique and smooth like butter and tottaly different from others and for that they need some time
I remember the x8, I still have 2 of them. Both run bug free 2.3 overclocked and they never give any problems. I would have enjoyed the phone a lot less if it were not for the amazing devs over there, stock 2.1 is very limited and boring. I hope sony dont forget about the U and deny us JB. @dsaklein its nice to see a familiar name around here, x8 was getting a little old.

I hope we will get JB official update, but on the other hand we will get CM 10 with JB and by the time official JB update comes we will have tons of custom firmwares and kernels to choose, so it wouldn't be such a problem.

Homebutton wake is working. Just gotta change system/usr/keylayout/generic.kl file to
Key 172 HOME WAKE
Or so
You gotta find it yourself. Maybe CM skips that update and directly goes to key lime pie.
Sent from my LG-P760 using xda app-developers app
Just a little correction if anyone is going to try it. Map key no 172 for HOME WAKE.
And CyangogenMod di tweet yesterday "10.2 It begins." so it must be 4.3 coz KLP would be CM11 in all probability.
Whats to be seen is if L9 continues to be officially supported by the wonderful CM Team.

indeed. jelly bean 4.3 is not that "wow" .. and the main problem is with this versions.
if google makes more 'silly versions' of android .. we have a strong change to remain with 4.xx .
Does anyone knows will we ever get 4.2.2 frol lg, official?
It is nice to se CM people will continue to develop great rom for our phone.

They don't support any other variant. But then expecting them to support different variants of the same device could be too much to ask.
BTW for 4.3 update they are working on the OMAP devices which should be a good news for us

Nexus'
Qualcom devices
OMAP
Tegra 3
Exynos

We will probably get a port for cm 10.2 but not a direct release. Also p760 might get stock 4.3 but I really doubt the 769 will. So let's hope for more ports
