WARNING!
DO NOT EVEN TOUCH ANY OF THESE LINKS, IF YOUR PHOTON IS UNLOCKED OR LOCKED, BUT NEVER FLASHED ANYTHING HIGHER THAN 2.3.4_198_7 OR SOME CUSTOM ROM? IF YOU DON´T KNOW, ASK!
THIS WILL PERMANENTLY LOCK YOUR BOOTLOADER!
ONLY FOR PEOPLE WHO REALLY NEED THIS!
AND NOONE TOUCH THIS, AFTER 2.3.6 OR ICS UPDATE!
If you want to know why, read here.
Anyone after succesfull 2.3.5 ota update or after flashing 2.3.5 USC_19 sbf - these links are for you.
But I am not responsible for any damage, you are not forced to flash these.
Don´t flash anything from here, if you do not know well, what are you doing.
Radios:
198_7 radio sbf ----- 198_7 libmoto_ril.so (or older) needed, flashable with bootstrap recovery:thumbdown:
Others:
2.3.5_254_13 sv2 boot, recovery and cdrom image sbf with sv2 bootloader and microboot from USC_19 sbf -
- mostly for unbrick of your device, after failed to boot bricks - 254_13 modules needed, flashable with bootstrap recovery
Full:
There is only one - 2.3.5_USC_19 sbf - but it is for Electrify. After flashing this, you need to flash locked custom rom, "2.3.5_254_13 sv2 boot, recovery and cdrom image" and some sv2 sbf radio, for working Sprint services, including 4G.
Do not try to flash any of those Sprint 2.3.5 full sbf files, they are not signed and your device will not accept them.
Thank "swuln" for 254_13 dump from his Photon.

I was at 2.3.5 Ota. Stuck on locked. I flashed the electrify and and was on uscc 2.3.5 .
still locked. I then proceeded to flash sv2 after it booted. Then I rooted, installed bootstrap and install peetr's 2.3.5 . I did not install a sprint radio, nor the lib. Nor did I install the modules. I am now working on att. 3G, as I write from my phone not on Wi-Fi. My bootloader is still locked. I can't install sbfs. Nor recovery. However att 3g works. Sim is working. I am in the us. Sj, ca.

i'm pretty sure that's the KDDI japanese baseband. so that's normal that you are able to use GSM. nothing weird at all!
Yes, you are right, that is kddi radio.

The radio was not reflashed after USC_19 full sbf. So the radio must have been there before. How have you got it there? I would like to know too.
If someone can fix bootstrap to flash the KDDI radio I do not think there are any security measures that are stopping us(just buggy bootstrap). Alternatively if someone can get a hold of a Japanese SBF we could also use that to unlock people stuck on 2.3.5(latest KDDI rom should be sv2).

Yep!! Just did it, same steps the OP did, took a couple reboots afterwards for the baseband to go from "Unknown" to 'N_02.29.04P"
On a locked Photon 4G, been locked for quite a while (SOB's!!):
Flashed the full sbf: 1FF-sunfire-user-2.3.5-4.5.1A_SUN_USC_19.0-19-release-keys-signed-USC-US.sbf
Flashed the unbrick: 2.3.5_45.4.13ota_unbrick.sbf
Rooted with Photon Torpedo
Installed the MOTODX2 bootstrap
Installed Peetr's rom: HybridGBv20locked.zip (Was bootlooping, had to do a factory reset after this part)
Took two reboots before it showed up as the Japanese radio, and if it matters, in between the first and second reboot, I tried to install the KDDI zip from bootstrap twice, both failed. After that reboot, baseband ver went from unknown to N_02.29.04P.
Just need to get home from deployment and use it, just ported my number from Sprint to Google voice, gonna give the prepaids a shot when I get home, if it works, awesome, if not, Nexus 4 here I come.
Just to expand on this, I bootstrap installed the Slim Photon build by mof9336 because I like the power toggles a little better, but the baseband showed up as unknown again, tried 3 reboots, still unknown. Reinstalled peetr's HybridGB, did a factory reset after, and it's back to showing up as the N_02.29.04P radio, something about that rom I guess, I may try the other locked builds to see if any others work.
Can anyone else verify that this method to install the kidi radio works on their device? And does this method imply that kidi radio and possibly others exists and lays dormant in stock mophos? Developers, what do you think?

The nopudding4u download that someone posted doesn't work and gives Fail to boot 2 errors to everyone who tries it out.
Could one of you please make a pudding remover that works? I would like to relock my bootloader, so that way my 4G will work. I don't want to reflash an entire sbf as I want to keep my data.
I just relocked my bootloader with the pudding remover... it says that it's failed... but it works.. make sure you flashed the stock recovery before you relock... but I kinda did it backwards... but it works...
I would get Fail to boot 2.
I had to reflash pudding to get my phone to boot.
I really want to remove pudding and the steps provided don't do much.

I'm wondering as to what exactly is the problem with nopudding4u that makes it fail to work properly.
I believe that Failed to boot 2 error means that your battery is below 50% charge. The RSD softeware on the phone won't let to flash if you're under 50% battery.
I got that error and then put my Photon on the AC charger. Tryed again 20 minutes later and the boot worked.
what does Failed to boot 4 mean?

Make sure you guys have the right nopudding.sbf I had the failed to boot 2 a while ago when I flashed an electrify.sbf by mistake and It nearly terminally bricked my phone. I have locked and unlocked multiple times using the correct nopudding I believe there is also a stock sbf that will relock, but I'm not sure where to find it, I would assume try googling it.

I unlocked a while back to check out ICS. I then flashed back to stock using the 198_7 sbf and did a factory wipe. My phone no longer said unlocked during boot and everything was good. However, a couple days back I decided that I wanted to unlock again to try some new cool things. During the unlock process, I flashed the pudding sbf and when it reboot it said unlocked. I didnt have to go through the cmd steps and enter my unique ID. So that has me wondering if I was ever really relocked. I definitely had the stock recovery. So, even if my phone does not say unlocked during boot, should I flash the nopudding4u sbf? I ask because I will be traveling to a wimax area soon and want to make sure that I can use it.
Thanks guys.

If you would not mind can you please outline what you did?
This is what I did:
1. Installed regular pudding
2. Installed cwm recovery
3. Installed 2.3.5 for Electrify/Photon via cwm
Then did:
1. Installed stock recovery
2. Installed nopudding4g
After that I started getting the Failed to Boot 1
No matter which locked 2.3.4 I try to flash via RSD it fails on first flash pass when it tries to put the phone into BP bypass.
First to get my phone back to normal in rsd mode I flashed the sunfire sbf then to unlock my phone I used pudding unlock sbf then to get recovery I had to do the one click root then got the bootstrap app to flash cwm zip then I installed jokers stock rom

Hello, this is my first post, so please excuse any stupid questions. I've looked and I don't see anything covering my situation.
I've been playing with my personal Nexus S4g since I've had it, and have never had issues with it, sans having to unbrick it once.
However, my wife's Photon 4g is another story. When I first got her the phone I rooted it and put on the bootstrap recovery. I made nandroid backups before every OTA update with it. As with many others I got the 2.3.5 OTA that permalocked my bootloader, which was cool, because I didn't want her to lose wimax, and was waiting for ics anyway. When the ics update was canceled, I figured I'd do a nandroid recovery back to 2.3.4 so I could unlock it and put on a better rom, since 4g isn't much better than 3g in Dallas for Sprint and both are crap (plus the reception on the Photon is amazing compared to the crappy antenna on my Nexus S4g).
Anyway, the recovery was without incident, but I lost the radios. There's no 3g, 4g, or wifi. I read on one of Peetr's threads that each baseband file was specific to each kernel, so I'm assuming that the recovery left the 2.3.5 baseband file intact; hence the incompatibility. I used the RSDLite tool to upload the last 2.3.4 SBF file, which failed (although I think they all say they fail).
Then I downloaded the radio sbf for 198_7, and the 198_7 lib.moto_rl.so files to see if I can put in the radios from the recovery. It's my understanding that I first have to flash the lib.moto file using the bootstrap recovery, then use the RSDLite tool to flash the radio sbf file.
Is this correct? Or, do I also need to put in a custom kernel?
BTW, the easiest way to unbrick, or fix a phone after the 2.3.5 OTA is to just take it to a Sprint store and they can flash that OTA update on it. I've seen other posts that deal with the issue, but that's what I'll have to do if nothing works.
My system is currently:
Sys Version: 45.3.6.MB855.Sprint.en.US
Version: 2.3.4
Baseband: Unknown
Kernel: [email protected] #2
Build# 4.5.1A-1_SUN-198_6
ERI: UNKNOWN
PRL: UNKNOWN
I called Sprint, and they reset my connection, but without a working radio I can't update the PRL or ERI.
Thanks,
Rick

You can't unlock when you take the ota. Even if you use the bootstrap to recover, it will not overwrite your bootloader to its previous state. Chances are you need 254_12 ril/libs for the radio to work. The ota blocks sbfing to stock baseband because of the signature check that the bootloader requires.
Instead of 198_7 try flashing 254_12 files via bootstrap.

That's what I was afraid of. I had already downloaded those other files, just in case, but I didn't flash them because I didn't want to ruin the outside chance I might have been able to pull this off after all. I flashed the 254_12 files and baseband file sbf via RDC, and my signal came right back. Still no wifi, but I'm sure it'll come after I reaccept the OTA update.
Thanks a lot for you input. I appreciate it. This bootloader issue really pisses me off, since this phone is more capable than most of the one out there today.
Cheers,
Rick

and when i tryd to erase and then flash and i got the same thing.
moreover when i start the phone somehow after i flash the sbf the tuch screen works funny (its not dead pixel) its like the touch screen moved one half inch lower
After flashing sbf, in order to flash a custom recovery, you first need to flash a pudding sbf file to unlock the bootloader. After unlocking the bootloader, running the command "fastboot oem unlock" and then repeating the command with your device's ID, you can flash CWM to your recovery.

Ok. After you flash that, you have to flash another sbf file over that one. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1136261 will get you to the instructions on what to do. Since Orange is what is considered international, you need the IHOP sbf on the page.

so do you any answer?
After seeking advice from a dev, this is the response i was given:
Could also be the recovery is in fact in that directory but is not named recovery.img. Or, if fastboot actually managed to load the file but still reports that error, it could be that his bootloader is either not unlocked or is having issues (the fastboot protocol is implemented in the bootloader AFAIK).

Could also be the recovery is in fact in that directory but is not named recovery.img. Or, if fastboot actually managed to load the file but still reports that error, it could be that his bootloader is either not unlocked or is having issues (the fastboot protocol is implemented in the bootloader AFAIK).

and still i got errors when i try to flash recovery.img (or system.img boot.img)
so maybe my bootloader fuked how do i fix it?
and tell me if i will flash other sbf file iy will make it worse?
I'm not sure what the heck is going on with your phone or how to fix it, but I'm going to advise you to stay far far away from SBFs from now on.

I'm going to recommend you ask one of the devs about how to fix it. You can flash another sbf file, but make sure it is the same version as what you have. So if you flashed a 2.3.6 sbf, you need to flash a sbf that is 2.3.6 or risk bricking your phone.

One other thing. I'm about to head off to basic training and will be offline for about 10 wks starting next wk. Any one of the atrix dev's should be able to help you further with your phone. I'll do what i can until i leave.

I didn't see this post when i first logged in. Seeing as this comes from one of the atrix devs, i'm going to stand behind this bit of advice, but i still will stand behind what i said before, ask the devs for help.

now we need someone to decrypt this and give us the rom.zip file.. :silly: PLEASE..
bootloader needs to be re-locked to use this right? S-on or S-off doesn't matter does it?

Dont forget stock recovery as well
Sent from my HTC One using SinLess Rom
yea forgot to mention that looking for it now.
so, to recap, re-lock bootloader, flash stock recovery then run this file and that should put me back to 100% bone stock on T-mo 4.3, sound about right?

You do NOT need stock recovery to flash an RUU s-off.
With S-OFF you don't need to do anything. Plug your phone in and run the RUU. I just did this yesterday. All I had to do is flash TWRP and I'm right back to rooted.

did not know that, thanks for that info. i always do stock recovery and lock bl, now i can skip step. thanks mate
can this be flashed on a AT&T HTC One, just left them and love the phone. BL is unlocked, have flashed the T-Mobile radio, but my phone continuously drops to EDGE, then back to LTE and 4G, I thought the baseband puts the frequencies needed for optimal T-Mobile network compatibility, namely the WCDMA 1700....im in NYC and i know they updated the towers here so 4G works on GSM1900, but having that WCDMA 1700 would be best. I guess there are other things T-mobile does to tweak the network i guess on the build.prop or whatever? not sure? any ways, any inout would be greatl appreciated,
just so anyone is confused. this was super easy to do to completely restore to a factory phone.
I was on TWRP w/ ARHD 22 ROM, unlocked bootloaded thru htcdev, S-On. here is all i had to do to flash this (super simple)
fire up fastboot on phone
verify fastboot via cmd (fastboot devices)
enter fastboot oem lock
phone reboots and i now have **Tampered** **Relocked** on bootloader
leave phone in fastboot and run the RUU file and 10 min later
factory phone
thanks all for posting this, I'll be re-rooting and flashing custom recovery soon but so nice to have wifi calling back.
I keep getting an Error 155. I've googled around and I can't seem to find anything that works. At my wits end here. Anyone?
I used this today and having trouble unlocking the boot loader. Do I need to get a new code?

Yes but you need s-off and change your cid and mid to match a tmo phone

Thanks for this. Just used it to upgrade my son's tmo one.

So how can I do both, kinda found the CID type thread but don't see anything about MID, can you point me to the right direction? I'm assuming S-off would be necessary?

So I've got a newbie q: I'm currently on 1.27.531.11, can I just flash this version just like I would an OTA update and keep my contacts, messages, settings, etc. intact? Or is this a complete wipe?

RUU is complete wipe .. if you want to keep your setting you have to take the /OTA
Hi, I converted my phone to GPE. I tried to run this RUU with no luck I always get error 155. It is unlocked and S-OFF. I tried the tmobile cid, super cid, t mobile stock recovery, relock the bootloader. What should I do can some one explain step by step?
I got a question about the ruu. I have a Att phone I'm selling to a T-Mobile guy could I make the phone officially a T-Mobile device by using this ruu??
