I am not sure if this is where this thread needs to go, but I am trying to make a video with clips of my recovery (I had a spinal-cord injury last summer and can not walk, yet), my phone tells me the resolution of these videos is 1280x720, however when I upload them to YouTube (or Google Drive or Dropbox) the video only takes up about half the total width, like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3SXSMd3wwY
This is an issue because I am trying to make a video, to show all my doctors, therapists, family and friends but the clips only use about half the total screen and I need more, is there a way I can fix this or will I need to buy a video camera?
This is what happens when I try to import the clips into iMovie, the clip with the correct orientation looks like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And when I rotate the clip, it takes up the full space but the orientation is not right:
I made a quick movie then sent it to www.vimio.com. It plays correctly.

But it looks like the import into iMovie is the problem. How are you transferring clips to your mac?
To the best of my knowledge it depends on how it is filmed.
Recording in landscape mode should fix the issue.

Amigo you are so right. I made another video holding the camera in portrait and I got this:
Which matches the OP's video.
Good job!

Well "OK" speak for itself, and I assume that "9600M" means that you have 9600 MegaBytes left on your internal SD card.
Samsung probably chose to show this because full HD recording can take your whole SD card space in no time
It tells you how much space you have left on your Phone / microSD card memory if you have the camera to store the videos / pictures there.
Then when you start to record a movie, it will show you how much space the movie is taking.
So the more you record, the more the first number goes up.
I recorded a movie that was 1 minute and 25 seconds long, and it took 174 MB.
Huh, I should have figured that out myself. I'm going to put it down to a blonde moment.
it means you have to say "OK" 9600MILLION times out loud for the video to start playing automatically!
let me know if it worked!
Hello guys,
I'm looking for a good LWP were i can set my own custom looping video as the wallpaper.
I've been looking everywere but can only fine 1 app, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=804720. That one.
It's doing just what i want, i can select a folder and the folder is playing in my background. Only there is one problem.
The app converts the video to a lower quality and then it shows really bad banding. The banding is not present when i play the same video in the media player on my phone. (HTC Desire HD)
These are actual screenshots:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Looks worse when animated and because it is uploaded it is compressed again and removes the banding a bit. But believe me, it looks BAD
Adding grain to the video solves it a bit but it is still not the standard video quality.
Somebody that knows another good quality app that does not compress the video? My device can easily handle a video in native resolution
Thanks,

Just brought it, i really like it in all aspects except the annoying rainbow effect, i can even see it without tilt the tablet, especially in landscape, just wondering EVERYONE have this problem? after some time of use you get used to? any way of fix it?
I was thinking of change it but it doesn't make sense if all units are faulty
Rainbow effect:

I am unable to access your screen picture but my tablet is perfectly normal and has none of the aberrations you describe. I was in a shop yesterday and handled the two display models and they were fine too. So I would suspect a fault with yours.
Here are the pics http://imgur.com/a/mpuTI#0
So your tablet doesn't have any of this when you tilt it?
I noticed a rainbow effect when I first got mine, but now I don't see it at all unless I really look for it.

No, none of that. Using the same Google page,I have tilted it in every direction and it is a clean high quality IPS screen with no artifacts.

The apperture look like the blades arnt fully retracted for f1.5, it has a star like shape instead of normal big wide opening like in the telephoto camera.
This happened while doing some long exposures.
It fully opens in live focus mode only, in auto it stays like this until you expose to high light then it closes but mostly will stay like this.
This exynos version is really bad, I managed to barely squeeze 7 hrs of SOT (instead of 4:30 5) but....the constant 40 'C burning in my pocket is unacceptable.
I'll be sending this back since I can return it in 30 days.
I hope the note 9 wont have the same issues.
Also that iris scanner is much slower than the note 8s one:crying:
The picture doesn't work, but from your description it does indeed sound like an issue.
Things should look like the picture from this article (right under the photo of the blue & purple phone).

Ill put here another image, now it only does this in the stock app.
https://imgur.com/a/SvZ8hKV sorry for the shakyness.
Wont bother with a factory reset, will keep it as is and return it on the 24 rt and get an N9.
Well, as you all know, Galaxy Note 3 is quite old, and barely gets supported by most accessory manufacturers nowadays, so I decided to take some pictures, and scan the internals of my Galaxy Note 3, and stitch it all up, so I can use it like a transparent skin mod on my clear case, and I wanted to share it to you guys, so enjoy printing lol.
(You might be wondering, "take some pictures"? Yeah I did, I used multiple images and stitch them all up. Normal methods doesn't produce the desired clarity: Scanning the whole phone opened, produced blurred components, and are out of focus, and only those that are touching the glass surface of the scanner are that on focus, such as the battery, pen and the camera; Taking a normal whole picture of the phone, on the other hand, didn't have the blurring issue found on scanning, although the resolution of the picture is affected by my other phone's Camera resolution (which is 12MP). And so, to workaround this, I instead took multiple pictures of the parts of the phone. That's why you can see some unbalanaced lighting here and there throughout the image.)
