Download unsuccessful - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Anyone get this while downloading music, podcasts and roms?
I usually get the error on wifi and dolphin browser, have tried other browsers and same luck.... Happens about 50‰ of all my downloads.
Any suggestions or tips?

This happens to me all the time.... almost always on Wifi... drives me nuts!

Do you have the WiFi option for best performance activated? Did you take the recent OTA update that includes WiFi fixes, or are you running a flashed ROM that has the OTA baked in?

This happens to me also...I noticed that it mostly happens when I'm actually using my phone and downloading something...I can almost guarantee that it will not happen as long as you are not using the phone and it is on the charger with the "do not sleep while charging" option enabled...if you're not near a charger then I typically just keep the screen on buy pulling the status bar down, leaving it down and periodically tapping the screen

This happens to for any download except apps from Google play. ROMS themes radios anything over about 10mb. It happens on WiFi 3g plugged in off charger. I've got all WiFi settings properly. I can't find anything that you s the culprit. It can't be a signal thing cause I'm locked on WiFi and it happens. It can't be a memory thing cause I have tried it right after a clean install with at least 2GB of room. Its really frustrating. I wish someone could point us in a direction. I've tried different browsers different ROMS that I already have....nothing.

Is anyone else having 4g problems

My 4g doesn't work on my 3VO just scans and disconnects in places I had full signal in the og evo

Try the 4G hack found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1140870&page=8 about halfway down. You will need your MSL. I did the hack and got 4G in my house where before I had to go outside for 4G. My download speeds are in the 5Mb range indoors.
Still no luck just scans and disconnects must be a prob with the phone

Have you tried pulling the battery? After the PRL update yesterday, my phone did the same thing. I pulled the battery for a min and replaced it. That solved the problem.

Slow 3g?

Anyone experiencing spotty internet. My tbolt says I have 3g but the internet is slower then dialup.

i get that a lot with 4G when i'm tethering. i'll just turn off the radio, wait about 20 seconds, turn it back on, and then it's working normally again.
weird thing is, my friend does the same with her Bionic and she doesn't have this issue.

Is this some kind of play on words? "slow" and "3g"? on a 4g phone.
I never have any slow downs with tethering . I get consistent 4g speeds. What radio are you running?

I agree, what radio are you running, and what ROM and version of it are you running?

I'm running KillaSense 3.5.0 with the latest radio from the GB OTA.
Everyone be sure your battery cover is completely snapped on. It has part of the antenna on it.

4G and Wifi

I notice everytime I turn my Wifi on, the 4g Icon still shows. However my speeds run at wifi speeds. The 4g icon will occasionally disappear but comes back from time to time. I'm running the rooted stock rom.
Is there a reason for this?
Thanks in advance.
Ive noticed this sometimes also, i just check off mobile network if i have wifi on, just to be safe, and it goes away.

That was my question as well. I just got the phone coming from evo but haven't root it yet. So, I'm running stock without root and have the same thing. Could anyone chime in on that?

I run juicedefender so I don't have this issue, but they both show if in on WiFi and download an mms message, it only downloads through 4g so it cones in long enough to download the message and goes away.
I have same issue weird thing is my wife has same phone and hers never comes up when connected to WiFi. Only when a picture is coming through how ever mine won't go away at all its annoying
I'm stock no root

I am guessing you guys have tmo my account app installed. This is a crappy app and uses 4g (apparently to make a secure connection) even when WiFi is on. So whenever you see 4g and WiFi both, just goto running services in settings and stop my account app and 4g icon should go away.
Getting rid of this app and other bloat is one of the main reasons for me to root this phone.

I do have the tmo my account app installed and noticed the same thing. Now i know why it does it! Thanks for sharing the knowledge chem

4g strangeness

So I've has this ongoing issue and it never really bugged me until today, and want to see if anyone has any ideas. Sometimes (more often then not) I am unable to activate 4g on my photon. It simply refuses to start the radio whether its done via widget on home screen or settings. The 4g icon will flash for a half second then goes away. The only way to fix is to either kill all tasks (including system tasks using systempanel) or a phone shut down and reboot. Now, I understand it might be an app interfering with it, but I don't know what it would be. I am rooted stock, and i do have roam control, although this did happen to me before I got roam control I believe.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Do you tether with it? I get the same thing whenever I tether with 4g. Usually a reboot also does the trick for me too.
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
I do Tether but not regularly. Its not because wifi tether is just installed at all is it?
Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk
I have the exact same 4g radio issue. I do have wifi tether installed but rarely use it. Happens to me every few days and rebooting is the only thing that had worked for me. I've tried clearing out ram but I usually end up having to reboot to fix it. Very annoying!
{edit} I'm on stock 198_6 rooted.

[Q]Network Mode

Does setting network mode to Cdma only turn off the Lte? I think it would but I read online that Lte stays on all the time
Sent from my EVO LTE using XDA
It not only tells the device NOT to turn on LTE but also tells the devicenot to LOOK for an LTE signal which in my experience enhanced battery life... Well may not have enhanced battery life to be honest because I was only on charge number 2 when I turned it off LoL but will actually turn it back on and see how battery fates then to compare and do my best to keep using the phone as much as I have been to get proper results for the comparison.

Thanks. I feel like this would be like leaving GPS or Wimax on. Wasting the battery.

Except leaving GPS on doesn't waste battery. It's only using power when it's actually active. This was a big question people asked 2 years ago when the OG Evo came out.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

But with all the apps that try to pull your location I always thought it was hurting my battery on the OG. I am a battery whore so it could have been in my head.

Yes, it is really only active when instructed to do so by certain apps at certain times like posting on FaceBook, using Nav, etc etc.
