Hey whats up guys,
I'm new to the ROM scene. I've tried about three times to install a rom on my droid x2 and all times i have failed. My question is, would there be anyone available to maybe IM with me and help me with the whole process. By "help me" i mean pretty much walk me through the process step by step and just be on hand so i could make sure that I'm doing it correctly. I know this is a pretty bothersome request, but if someone would not mind helping me it would be greatly appreciated. Just let me know by posting on this thread or sending me a message.

What state is your phone in right now? I'm assuming you're rooted so...what rom are you trying to flash? What procedure did you follow when you last tried to install the rom?

Eclipse and liberty are just roms that you can flash onto your x2 if you have rooted your phone. If you or someone you know hasn't personally put them on your phone, then you'll have neither. It isn't something that would be on there from the manufacturer.

Also posted in my theme for Molten. He installed Molten and I guess tried to install other 2 ROMs too.
No one help him until he READS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![/B] threads for modding first. Otherwise, he just takes up space on the forums. I'm sorry, but you shouldn't be asking what rom your on, if you are, go to an iPhone way more user friendly

yes sir..u are VERY right.
all I am trying to say is try to NOT be harsh...some things can read harsher than intended when type.
im not trying to say u didn't or that no one is trying to help out.
but it is also inevitable, that people no matter what they have read, will still need that little bit of "extra" info on "what to do now"
especially since our X2 can be picky with what you do or the process you use to do it
I really just said what I did in hope to "preempt" any "mean spirited" replies.
imagine how u would like to be answered when entering a site and following the rules at least to not post questions in dev section and u really don't understand all these : ROM, SBF, OTA, root, p3's, su, busybox, CWM, bootstrap, recovery, stock, modded, etc... words and what they mean.
now im DEFINITELY NOT saying go ahead and write out exactly everything the person needs to do. I am just saying don't be harsh. not that u were. or anyone else in this thread((yet))
just saying a bit of guidance and clarification on things asked is nice to see....basically common courtesy.....

Maybe you should make a list of people that are available to consult and have it stickied so people go there first instead of posting another thread. It's probably faster to get help from someone in gtalk anyway.

Look, this is not what I meant by posting this thread. I can't in good faith just let anyone start giving help to other. I had a similar case a while back where someone else told the person to relock the bootloader and he had an eng Hboot. I am sorry, this is not meant to be a sign up list or anything like that. I have interacted with dyetheskin before and have seen his abilities. I am asking that people please not post here unless it is a request for help or you have a quick question.

Agreed. My gtalk is [email protected] (its an ancient email account) don't hate :b. Back when I had a Droid 2 I helped a lot of people on droidforums.

As of right now, i have 3 others that I trust to help others. You all have to realize that some times I get asked questions in which if I were wrong I could damage the phone. When I talk about helping others I try to provide 100% accurate info. I would also want anyone else that I have to do the same.

You could make it the people you trust and other people would need to be qualified like a recognized contributor or something. I understand what you mean when you say it can be dangerous but I really think with the right people that having a group or list of people you can contact for help would really benefit the rezound community and maybe inspire other device communities to do the same.
Hello everyone. Sorry if this throws everything outta wack but i need some help. So my friend finally made the switch from apple to android and he got a fascinate. He had it flashed to cricket and everything works it just freezes up a lot because hes using a crappy froyo rom. I need to know if i root and install ics on it will that remove the carrier flash and switch it back to verizon? If so can anyone tell me how to root and install ics without removing the cricket service? If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. I have been searching for days how to do it but i still cant find anything. Please help me restore my friends faith in the wonderful world that is android.

I accidentally sent a wrong flashable zip to my cousin. As I was really confused with all the Note II variants. She emailed me sayig that her note is not working and since it was my fault, i figures I should fix this. Can anyone provide me a clean (unmodified/themed) systemui.apk and android.policy.jar? Any help would be greatly appreciated ata
just have her flash back to stock or reflash the rom she is on.

Well I was the one who sent her the wrong file. And she doesn't really know a lot about stuff thats gping on here in xda.
Then honestly...you should not have sent it. Irresponsible flashing causes expensive paperweights and bad blood. Do it yourself...or don't do it. There should not have just been "a file to send". No one is going to help with this, as YOU screwed up, and her for trusting...YOU.
P.S. looking for info by carrier is far from confusing...if that confused you or her, should stay stock Sammy!!!!

Can't add anything to this that hasn't already been said. If you provided the service of modifying someone's device without verifying things first, most people aren't going to make it easy for you, especially with the information needed to restore the phone back to stock being readily available.
Also, you don't modify anyone's phone unless you're willing to take the time to figure out how to fix it. I never modify anyone's phone myself. I'll provide details on how to do so, or where to find more info, but that is up to the phone owner to actually make the changes themselves.

You need to chill out. We "nerds" provide you with the answers to your questions and the ROMs you run on your device. So you need to show a little, scratch that, a lot more respect to the members that make XDA what it is. And yeah, in the beginning we didn't know all that we do now. But we sure as hell didn't get our knowledge the way the OP is trying to do. We searched, tried our own methods, read, and tried more. New users just wanna be spoon fed.
If the OP had searched and not been lazy like he was, then he would have found an answer. But no, he chose to be lazy in multiple ways and break the rules.

My post was not rude nor discourteous (unlike your jumbled "effort" of an insult). My questioning of the OP was an attempt to get him to ask himself the same question. A teaching of the use of logic. He knows there is an error. Logic would tell him we would need to know that error is before we can help. We also need to understand the process.
Yes there was a time when I knew nothing but knowing how to provide information and ask questions allowed me to learn quickly and that's why I know as much as I know now so before you judge me and call me names, look at my title and thanks and think again before stepping in when you have nothing to add except insults. I help people much more than you. My aim is to do more than to help. My aim is to teach but people with no respect make me question why I should ever impart my knowledge on these forums. Rude, ungrateful and put nothing back into the community. I don't even know why you're here.
Also, clue is in the title. Xda DEVELOPERS. NONE of you are supposed to know "jack s**t" - this is not a users help forum but we tolerate user help requests but there is an expectation that questions will be asked in a proper way, giving as much detail as possible. If this is a problem for you, there are numerous "non developer" help forums available, where "friendly" people will tolerate poor questions for ever without caring about the development of the OP's knowledge.
