TWRP Not Seeing Backups - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

I go to restore, click on my backup folder (created when I backed up via TWRP), and there is nothing in the folder.
I reboot phone, go to my file explorer and the backups are there. Perfectly there in the same folder I tried to restore from earlier.
I am sure I am navigating to the same exact folder in TWRP that I am viewing in Android.

Make sure twrp is mounting the correct sd card. I'm 99.9% sure that's what it is.

I tried both. External and internal. I'll try again though.

I happens to me every time I switch/flash another rom. I would just keep messing around with it and eventually it would work. I think it's a bug in TB Goodluck

That's exactly what I did. Flashed CM 10, went to restore Venom and nothing. I got it working now. Just rebooted a few times. Thanks all.

[Q] can I restore backup on new phone?

I'm getting a replacement Tbolt and I was wondering if, after I make a backup on this phone, I could restore that backup on the new phone? This would be after I re-root and whatnot of course.
I would just use this SD card to restore from

Anyone?

i would say you should be able to since you can on the OG droid... but... not sure if anything is different with HTC
I just did. As long as your using your original SD card on your replacement.

Yeah you should be able to just fine. I haven't done it, but I cant think of any reason it wouldn't work. Of course, I'm assuming you talking about a full backup with ClockworkMod Recovery.

Need for Speed (NFS) Shift on EVO 3D

I haven't succeeded in getting NFS Shift to run on the EVO 3D. It starts the program and then crashes. Previously, I got to the point of attempting to download the additional content needed to run the game, but now I can't even get to that point. Any ideas?
Works fine here...never given me an issue, although I already had the files on sd from previous phone

I tried putting the files on my card by following a guide w/ download link. Still no luck.
It was fixed for the evo 3d in the last update to market, this was probably a couple weeks back at least...just make sure you're using the right version, which ever one you got.

Encrypted SD Card debacle

Hey all, was wondering if there is a known way around this, probably not tho. I have my work email setup on my phone, it is an Exchange account and requires me to set a PIN or password plus encrypt my SD card. This is all fine and dandy except TWRP can't make Nand backups because it doesn't seem to have access to the encrypted card. Is the some way I can give it permissions to access the card from recovery?

Bump?

Could you just make backups to your internal memory and then later transfer them to your sd card?
- I'm a fungi
No, it will not backup to internal
Sent from my HTC EVO 4G LTE using Tapatalk
Why won't it backup to internal?
In twrp, I went to mount and mounted internal, unmounted external sd card, and told it to use internal memory and it backed up to the phone.
- I'm a fungi
it backs up to internal if. you set it too.

I'll try it again but it was giving me some error when I tried to mount and backup internally.

Do you have enough internal space?

is your internal partition also encrypted?
I have more than enough internal space, and no only the ext_sd is encrypted

Get into communication with the developers of the recovery. If it was throwing you some error then let them know what it was and maybe they can help you out.

I would use a modified mail.apk(sense) or a stock aosp email.apk that has been modified to ignore the exchange security. Therefore you wont have a device administrator and it won't be encrypted in the first place. You can find these in the themes and apps section.

Thanks, I'll check that out. Annoying that it makes you change things to receive the email

Did you try an alternate "mail.apk" ? There are few floating around that doesn't enforce this policy. You'll need to wipe your card once more. But after that don't add an Exchange account UNTIL you've first replaced the Mail app, and you'll be set --- no more SD encrption or pass lock required. You'll have to copy the app after every ROM flash unless the ROM includes this app.
Check: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1520431
Or check here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1679853 (shameless self promotion of a thread I made haha). I made a mail.apk with mikeyxda's mods (roaming sync and html format) and security removed.
I couldn't tell you for sure if the security removal mod that I used (the same method from the link in the post above) would bypass the encrypted sd card requirement, though.

How to stop the OTA download?

A friend of mine started the 1.22.653.1 OTA download by mistake and shut off his data halfway thru. Is there a way he can cancel or stop the download now so he can root and s-off? Soon as he turns on his data or wifi download continues. Is there a download folder where the partial OTA file can be deleted?

Lost LTE

Hey guys I have been rooted for a while now but on Sunday I crack flashed a bunch of 4.2 roms and lost connection to 4g. I have replaced my sim card and re flashed the radios but I am now stumped. When I get home I will probably Odin back to stock but if you guys have any suggestions I would appreciate it.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
you answered your own question...odin back to stock.
Just wanted to know if there was anything I could try in the mean time.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
go into settings/more settings/mobile networks/network mode, then toggle lte/cdma and see if it brings 4g back up. If that don't work you can try a factory reset, still nothing then odin back to stock.
Yeah tried all of that. Looks like I have a date with Odin tonight.

Restored via odin and still no 4g. I'm at a loss. Could I have burned the 4g capabilities?
did you get a new sim from vzw? i know you said that you "replaced" it but was that with a new or used sim? also might want to power device off and make sure the sim is seated properly.
also are you getting 3g, 1x, or any data at all?
I finally got it guys thanks.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
how did u fix it?
After all of that fighting the system, changing the sim, reloading stock the sim holder is sort of wide and the spring forces it just a bit off of the contacts I adjusted it just a bit rebooted and got 4g back. Always check the stupid things that it could be first. Lesson learned for the 10th time. Though I checked it multiple times before resorting to a system restore so who knows what caused it.

Interesting. .. Did you get a replacement? Reminds me of when my girlfriend tried the dna... She would drop it or tap the phone and the sim card would disappear from the phone lol.
